Elishia, I am curious to see your suggestions. Mine are for newbies because they are light on sex and excellent stories/plot:

Top 3 Audiobooks:
A Reason To Believe by Diana Copland by Diana Copland (great narrator, a great story, and it was well written)
Something Like Summer (Seasons, #1) by Jay Bell by Jay Bell (really well written story. emotional and all that)
Cut & Run (Cut & Run, #1) by Abigail Roux by Abigail Roux (my favorite m-m series)

top 3 E-books:
Faith & Fidelity (Faith, Love, & Devotion, #1) by Tere Michaels by Tere Michaels (my 2nd favorite series)
The Rebuilding Year by Kaje Harper by Kaje Harper (great story, not every angst)
Collide (Blackcreek, #1) by Riley Hart by Riley Hart (sweet but very angsty)

if you want PwP (Plot w/out Plot), we can discuss that when you are ready:D

@Vicci: I have a bunch of audiobooks from audible. But I am picky about narrators. Do you get your books from audible or somewhere else?

@Elishia: *I have never tried Andrew Grey. But I swear by Abigail Roux and right now Kaje Harper.
I just read the first chapter of Ethan who loves Carter. I think I will read it this weekend since you like it .

@Vicci, Elishia, Melissa, Zuzana & Jenn C often buddy read m-m books for the month buddy reads

**if there is a book you want to try, let me know and it's loanable, I will loan it to you.

@Elishia, I have the ebook to Jay Bell & Diane Copland if you need to borrow. Are you a kindle reader?

PM me if there is something on my m-m shelf you'd like to try

A Reason To Believe by Diana Copland - I agree I like this one

The Winter Courtship Rituals of Fur-Bearing Critters (Granby Knitting, # 1) by Amy Lane - A cute one

Packing Heat by Kele Moon - Hot. A fireman and a cop

Alex in Wonderland by Jessica Freely - Short, funny. Takes place at a bdsm club. Everything goes wrong

Vicci Audio Nerd wrote: "Quite concerned about all this gang banging i keep hearing about haha!"

LMAO!!!
There is a 3 month challenge called Gang Bang on the m-m group. When you sign up, you put together a shelf of books that you would like to read. Each participant looks at your shelf and picks 3 books from your list and recommend them to.
Then you choose 1 from the 3 recs.

So if there is 25 people in your group, you will send 24 people a pm with 3 books from their specified shelf. And you will get a pm from 24 people.
The good thing is all 24 books are books from your TBR shelf, so they are books you want to read.

When my husband saw the title, he was like WTF are you getting into on goodreads, and I had to explain:D

I can loan you the e-book.

It's a cute story, but not a fast plot. That's because the MC is a character that takes life slow.

Jennifer C. | 1722 comments I just added a ton of these to my TBR.

Ezi & Melissa ~ Remember when we started m-m with Cut & Run? It feels like forever ago! We were all so skittish about it at first. LOL Now look at us! So I would definitely suggest starting there.

I really like this series too...

Coming Home (Rock Bay, #1) by M.J. O'Shea

I know Melissa & Ezi aren't big fans of Mary Calmes, but I read this series and really liked it...

A Matter of Time (A Matter of Time #1) by Mary Calmes

I look forward to reading more from her.

Jennifer C. | 1722 comments ~Melissa~ wrote: " Oh I need to get back to Matter of Time "

The only thing I didn't like was that there were 7 in the series and when I got to the last one I was so disappointed because it wasn't about Sam & Jory AT ALL! I don't even know why it was part of that series. It was about a totally different couple. I felt like I didn't get closure because I was expecting to have that one last book and I didn't get it. Other than that, I liked how their relationship evolved and I would actually have liked it better if she had started a separate series with the characters from book 7. I liked them, but I just wasn't expecting them.

A couple that I would suggest avoiding are...

Mind Fuck (The Administration, #1) by Manna Francis Fatal Shadows (Adrien English Mystery, #1) by Josh Lanyon

I REALLY didn't like either of those.

message 34: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ | 5253 comments I have to say I agree with Jennifer C - those two books should be avoided :D

I'll just skip #7 then for that series - thanks for the heads up

I just bought a Taste of Love at audible. Thanks a lot Roger! WE are here to help Vicci, not add to my ever growing TBR pile. LOL. It's not long at all, 5 hours. I'll let you know what I think.

Grey has a lot of books at audible but not the redemption by fire book you mentioned. There were a bunch of Love Means... books, and there were a bunch of Stranded books.

*I third Melissa & Jennifer C on Post 33. Those 2 books are to be avoided

message 36: by V_Nerdbooks (new)

V_Nerdbooks | 5307 comments Ah thanks for the suggestions guys, I think I will dive in with Cut and Run and that does sound good.
I am in the middle or reading 3 at the moment and then 2 more BR in Apr (Currently reading 1) So i don't think I will get to this until May lol.

message 38: by Elishia (new)

Elishia Guess i'll be taking those 2 of my TBR I think I was meant to BR with you lot thats the only reason its on there.

I haven't read The Fire series yet by Andrew Grey but they are pretty short so that might be why they're not in Audio form.

I really like Mary Calmes books as well.

Vicci, you can't go wrong with Ty and Zane. The mystery plots are often clumsy and/or predictable but the characters are great and their relationship is wonderfuly written.:)

Another m-m book I loved is The Rebuilding Year by Kaje Harper . It's friends to lovers, gay-for-you, great relationship building, light on sex. Great book for m-m beginners.

I would suggest avoiding:
Duck! (Avian Shifters, #1) by Kim Dare and Special Delivery (Special Delivery, #1) by Heidi Cullinan . The worst books I have read this year.

EDIT: I've spotted Without Reservations (With or Without #1) by J.L. Langley on your list, I just have to warn you that the first book is nowhere near as good as the second in the series With Caution (With or Without, #2) by J.L. Langley . Loved that one. My Fair Captain (Sci-Regency #1) by J.L. Langley (Sci-regency series) by the same author was a huge disappointment though.

message 48: by Amber (new)

Amber | 155 comments There are lots of books that have already been mentioned that are great but here are a few more.

Perfect Imperfections by Cardeno C. - cute and heartwarming

A Note in the Margin (A Note in the Margin, #1) by Isabelle Rowan - heartfelt

Magic's Pawn (Valdemar Last Herald-Mage #1) by Mercedes Lackey - angsty YA fantasy

Keeping Promise Rock (Promises, #1) by Amy Lane - family angst and humor It also has a great audio version

Among the Living (PsyCop, #1) by Jordan Castillo Price & Hell & High Water (THIRDS, #1) by Charlie Cochet - paranormal both have audio versions

For Audio books I loved

Frog by Mary Calmes & Sinner's Gin (Sinners, #1) by Rhys Ford & Hot Head (Head, #1) by Damon Suede all of them have some really great accents and narrations

Wow I can't believe this was 9 months ago!!

Since then I jumped into and hoovered up the C&R series (love Ty & Zane) so I will be jus ping into a new one soon
Thanks for all of the suggestions :○)

Avid Reader and Geek Girl (avidreaderandgeekgirl) | 417 comments If you want to start off slow for e-books with novellas try Romeo and Julian by Celia Stratford - not based off Romeo and Juliet- Part of the coastal college players series but it's not listed that way; Unwrapping Hank (Unwrapping Hank, #1) by Eli Easton and it's sequel; Joys R Us by Kim Fielding is sweet; The Five Times Raptor Messed With The Bull by Xara X. Xanakas - both can be found for free in the M/M Romance group . For longer e-books the Blind Faith (Blind Faith, #1) by N.R. Walker series. Save of the Game (Scoring Chances #2) by Avon Gale is good too, and you don't need to read the first book.

Fish and Ghosts (Hellsinger, #1) by Rhys Ford is a good audiobook. The Lightning-Struck Heart (Tales From Verania, #1) by T.J. Klune - is another good audiobook and hilarious!
