Dawn Allman | 141 comments I completed A Pact with Death by Dennis Hamley on March 14, 2016. This is the second book in the Joslin de Lay series. I liked this story although there were a lot of editing issues in the second half of the book that I did not notice at the beginning. I hope that they fix it for future books in the series.

Dawn Allman | 141 comments I finished The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie today. It was a good book although I think Flavia might become a little annoying as the series progresses. I worried about adding this book to this historical mystery thread since I don't think of 1950 as historical but the rules say anything set more than 50 years ago. I'm going to get worried when books set in my lifetime are categorized as historical...

Book of the month finished and reviewed ;) Given all the reviews talking about the author lecturing rather than telling a story, I wasn't expecting a great deal but it was actually a nice surprise. Not brilliant, but fun and i'll likely check out the next in the series at some point.
