L.A. Kent | 434 comments It's always great when the summer season is over down here. Not that I mind sharing Cornwall too much, but the difference a week makes is incredible - from loads of people around and on the beach to hardly any! It's always amazing to see the difference before and after just one weekend.

I can imagine. So beautiful down there.

message 10003: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale As long as it cools off. I hate the heat.

Christine Hatfield (christinesbookshelves) | 5526 comments I agree with you Amber about this heat

message 10005: by Christine (new)

Christine Hatfield (christinesbookshelves) | 5526 comments I’m not looking forward to fall and winter because my lungs don’t like both of those seasons and Amber I knew I would I would make you laugh lol and I try not to get nervous about getting an MRI or a CAT scan because I’m used to it but I hate needles and I hate hospitals and I know what a CAT scan is because i’ve had it so many times and the reason why I hate needles and it’s because I have horrible veins in both of my hands

Oh wow!

message 10008: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale The scan's done already, Christine. And it's not just my lungs that hate the heat. I have a tendency to dehydrate bad enough to need "Subq fluids."

Tomorrow, I am away for nearly a week.

Celebrations starting this weekend for my 60th birthday, a small party in our garden on Saturday.

Tomorrow my wife and I leave for France, Disneyland Paris, and stay at The Newport Bay, which we last stayed at 25 years ago, the first month Disney opened.

Also in Paris, and have a meal at the top of the Eiffel Tower on Thursday(Wednesday was full, the day of my birthday).

Booked 7-8 months ago.

Will also see the two new parks, the Studio Park, which was not built, the first years we came, and the new Natural Park, one train stop away, done like The Blue Lagoon(Iceland), with gardens, cabins.

Nice just to have a weeks break.

Only bad thing was we are having problems with one of our older cats, and had to take her to the vets today(yes on Sunday).

So little sad, as she is not well.

Hope she will be okay.

Milly, our 15 year old Birman.

My wife is collecting her now.

Stomach problems, and now to go on steriods, and gastric tablets.

Sadly happens to us all when we get old.

Buddy her brother is waiting for at home.

Hopefully now enjoy our holiday

Have a lovely time, Sean.

message 10016: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Hope Milly feels better soon, Sean. Happy Birthday.

Turned up the same damned benign mass on my left kidney the previous 3 found, Christine.

message 10017: by Christine (new)

Christine Hatfield (christinesbookshelves) | 5526 comments That stinks Amber

message 10018: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Yeah, but it would have stunk more if it had gotten bigger...or if a similar mass had been found on my OTHER kidney.

message 10019: by Christine (new)

Christine Hatfield (christinesbookshelves) | 5526 comments Yeah that’s true

What are the doctors going to do about it?

message 10020: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Nothing they CAN do at this point. It's benign.

message 10021: by Sue (new)

Sue (coccotoro) | 2087 comments Hope you have a wonderful birthday, Sean, and your Kitty gets better. Lost one of our 9 year old Labs, Cocco to bone cancer July30th. His brother, Toro misses him and we had to take Toro to the vet a few weeks ago, because he wasn't eating, vomiting, stomach problems. They did an ultra sound and said he is healthy, but he has allergies, and put him on a allergy-free diet. Kangaroo Food-kibble and canned food. Now he is doing well, and eats 2 meals a day...but even his snack/cookies/bones are allergy-free. No people food. 2 walks a day and he seems happier but you can see that he still misses his brother.

Glad Toro is doing better, Sue. Sounds like he's a lovely dog. My mini horse seems to get stronger by the day! 😕 I swear he could pull me over!!

We bought one of those "easy walk" harnesses, that strap under tummy, and he doesn't pull anymore.

Thanks all

Had a great time, weather was great, hot,

Best surprise had our first meal as planned as Hunters Grill, when we arrived our nephew and niece were sitting at the table, my wife planned it.

Wednesday at Walt's Restaurant for my birthday, was brilliant, staff brought out a cake and all staff sang happy birthday, then they closed but let us all stay (the four of us) to watch the Disney parade from our first floor window, perfect view.

Thursday, went to Cafe Remy for another brilliant meal (Disney cancelled trips to Paris that week due to stabbings on Monday).

My wife had booked Cafe Remy for Friday allowed to change.

Walt's and Cafe Remy, booked 8 months ago when my wife planned this.

Lots of suprises, exhausted with the walking, (27,000 to 30,00 a day).

Lots of pics on my Facebook page.

Christine Hatfield (christinesbookshelves) | 5526 comments Thanks girls and Diane S they didn’t know why I was having that lower pain on my right side so that’s why I had to get a CAT scan just to make sure it wasn’t my appendix but the CAT scan was normal and I hate hospitals too Amber and I still have that pain on my right side again but I have a doctors appointment soon

Amber Martingale I still haven't read Christie, either. Every time I try, she bores me to sleep.

What is a conservator? I thought that was a person who worked on art.
