The August threads for PIFM have now been posted. I'm being super efficient ....... or something along those lines!!! ;-))

Hope you're all keeping well, people, and reading some good books. Wish the weather would improve here in the UK. Summer seems to have done a runner!! :-\

Just to let you know, I am away at Wimbledon and London for 5-6 days, mainly offline.

Lorrea - WhatChaReadin'? (whatchatreadin) We have only had one person sign up for Summer Book Pals!! If we don't have anyone else, this may be the last time we do it.

Daisy | 313 comments I want to share some exciting news with my friends in here. I feel like I only post updates about my health anymore, so I have to share my good news.

I will be welcoming my first grandbaby in October!!! Jack Harrison is due October 7 and I don't think I could ever be more excited about anything.

Amber Martingale Cool news, Daisy.

Saturday before last, a landsman I've been working with since at least October of last year about some land my Dad inherited from his mom in W. Virginia found my half brother, Craig. If we sign the paperwork, Craig and I each get 50% of the profits from Dad's share of his mom's half of the land.

Our uncle Mike gets the other 50% of grandma's half of the land. The rest belongs to her sister, Betty Kays. Fracking. Adam Rowan, the landsman, was about to give up when he found Craig.

Craig joined Goodreads last week and he lives in Collinsville, IL., home of the world's largest sculpture of a ketchup bottle.

That's the good news.

The bad news? I don't know how to locate or pay for the services of a public notary.

Oh Sue, I started shopping as soon as I found out!! I've also been making blankets for him. I'm trying to stock up on diapers (getting a great deal on them right now). My son and daughter in law will not need to buy much of anything. He is the first grandbaby on both sides.

I'm surprised. It's been a classic since the 1940's.

Lynn Renee | 1707 comments Ugh! Just finished talking to Kindle Customer Support. They are sending a replacement Kindle HDX, thank goodness I purchased the extended 3 year device replacement warranty. Over the past couple of days my Kindle suddenly doesn't seem to take a full charge, and when unplugged you can watch the battery indicator just tick down to 0 from whatever charge it said there was. Now I need to find out if I can extend my extended warranty when it is supposed to run out in December.

I meant that I happened to find the movie playing on a television channel by accident. I hadn't been looking for it.

Well so tired... Watched so many great tennis matches...

Lots of gardening, and loads of walking and playing tennis.

Enjoying our second week of our holiday, still tired from rushing around London..

Today had a signed photo in the post. I have hardly wrote any letters in two years, so busy..

Jim Nabors... now 87 years old..

Retired from show business in the early 90's, due to a new liver.

Started a business in Hawaii, and married his male partner four years ago..

Wrote to him June 13 2011 !!

Received July 13th 2017 ... 6 Years and a month!

Thanks for the clarification.

Sean, didn't know Jim Nabors was gay.

I saw the episode as 'scene setting', putting all the players into position like a game of chess. Arya's stint was probably the best. The surprise.... a certain singer!!!

Janet, I don't watch Game of Thrones but I do know the singer you are referring to. I am lucky enough to have tickets for said singer's concert in October. It will be the second time I've seen him in concert. Puts on a fabulous show!!

Jean | 2387 comments Just finished jury duty yesterday afternoon. Got picked on Monday, sat through 3 days of trial. All 12 of us had our minds pretty much made up when we walked in to deliberate. We voted unanimously to convict (promoting prostitution) - then discussed briefly, mostly I think to vent and reassure ourselves that we reached the correct decision -
Anyone else been on a jury?
