Perri | -43 comments Probably the zero books read should have been the red flag. I still can't see the way to block. When I click the edit, it just goes to their homepage where I can send message, recommend book... suggest friends :P

Jean | 2387 comments I am SO far behind on this thread! Sean, Sharon, so sorry for your illnesses. Sharon, I feel so bad for you! Losing a beloved kitty is devastating! Your dog probably misses him too. Hugs.

Amber Martingale Hinky, not hokey. :)

message 9205: by E. (new)

E. | 653 comments Could be hokey, as there is more than one meaning. One being: obviously contrived : phony
#justsayin

message 9206: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale I hate that damned phrase: "just sayin'." It should be banned from the dictionaries.

Lynn Renee | 1707 comments Amber wrote: "Hinky, not hokey. :)"

Where I'm from, we use the word hokey. Different strokes for different folks. :) Dictionaries have had so many words added anymore, slang, street talk etc. Not saying it is right that they have been added, but even in the U.S.A. we have various dialects.

message 9208: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Using the phrase "Just sayin'" is called "belaboring the obvious," Lynn, and it grates on the nerves of every Grammar Nazi.

If I listed everything that I hate; slang, dialect, a gazillion other things..... you'd all lose the will to live!!...... Just sayin!!

Keep it friendly, please.

lol... Well said Janet, I was thinking the same thing. By the way, most Grammar Nazis grate the nerve endings of the people they feel the need to correct all the time along with the many others who have to read it.

It might be different in different browsers, but whether they're your friend or not, try scrolling down to the very bottom of the page. If they're your friend you have choices to unfriend or block. If not your friend there should be at least a "block this person" choice

message 9218: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 313 comments Just thought I would give an update about my health. I had a petscan a few weeks ago. The results were great. The lymph nodes in my chest are clear and the spot in my lung is barely visible. The pill I'm taking is obviously doing its job. I hate having to take so many of them (4 in the morning and 4 at night) but I will take them the rest of my life if they get rid of the cancer in my organs. The cancer in my bones has not changed so that was great news also.

I've been feeling so good lately. I have been cleaning out closets, working on quilts, and just enjoying life. It is wonderful knowing the treatment is working!!

Watching, the updates on the WTA ladies Tennis Final....

Do not have BT Sports *another £15..00- £20.00, on top of the sky package, which is bad enough ..

So kept up with the scores... and

Johanna Konta beats Caroline Wozniacki, 6-4, 6-3, to win her biggest career title at the Miami Open.

On a lob!

Konta pockets her first Premier Mandatory title in style, landing a lob plum on the baseline.

Fantastic performance beating Venus Williams in the semi final, and Simona Halep (3 seed) in the quarted final..

What a tournament.

Daisy | 313 comments Thank you so much to all of you responding to my great news!!

I just had the best weekend I've had in a very long time. When my oldest kids were still in school we had people over all the time. I always had the house where everyone would hang out. Its been very quiet for the last year and a half.

However, this past weekend we had people here all weekend. I had a new sofa and loveseat delivered. My son spent Sunday installing a new toilet in my second bathroom, a new ceiling fan in my living room, put together the grill I got for my birthday, put a new dual showerhead in my shower, and put some curtain rods up for curtains that I made a couple of weeks ago. We grilled out to end the weekend.

I felt so alive with all the people and activity. It finally felt like my home again.

Two member for 6 years and 6 friends.

Third, says he is Brooklyn, NY. But about him is in a foreign language!

Aymen Ben cheikh since my 33rd birthday, my family and friends are pushing me to meet someone and marry her, this is how it works in my country, pressure to mariage, then to have kids, then to have more kids... When I ll meet the right person I think that s when I should consider mariage.

You are right about that. Even though I did things a little backward, I had my first kid at 30 and got married at 35.

When the right one comes along, the rest will fall into place!!
