Spring/Summer 2014: Leaderboard and Completed Tasks
To claim points, please post something similar to this:
20.2 Task Name
Book by Author
Total points: 20
You can add things to it, I know some people put 1/30 books or sometimes 20/500 pts or whatever, but make sure you have the task number, the book you read (w/author name preferably) and your total pts to date. Thanks!

Colum McCann and musician Joe Hurley wrote the song "The House That Horse Built (Let the Great World Spin)" based on McCann's novel. The song is narrated from the perspective of the character Tillie.
I don't really like the song, but here's a link if you would like to hear it:

I must say, I know now why I kept putting these books off. They're both great reads, but I just don't have the stomach (or the strength of heart) for child abduction.

Bringing Up Bébé: One American Mother Discovers the Wisdom of French Parenting by Pamela Druckerman
Task Points: 10
Total Points: 10
*I know technically speaking, the author is living in France, not visiting but my arguments are thus:
1) She mentions several times that she will maybe move away from France one day.
2) She briefly mentions that other fellow foreigners she knows in Paris were at one time study-abroad students that ended up never leaving because they fell in love with Paris and/or a Parisian.
3) She is reporting on her STUDY of parenting ABROAD in Paris.
So I'm good, eh? :)

I enjoyed watching the movie after reading the book, and I usually don't. It mostly follows the story of book and I think the things they did change really benefit the movie.
