I'm going to increase my goal to 5 series for a total of 12 books: 5/5!!!
The Fever series: 5/5 COMPLETED!
The Hush, Hush series: 4/4 COMPLETED!
The Leo Demidov series: 3/3 COMPLETED!
The Charley Davidson series: 6/6 COMPLETED!
The Mortal Instruments series: 6/6 COMPLETED!
I have finished the Tales of the Lore Valley series.
I've completed the Divergent series:
These books are every bit as good as I had heard! I think I'd rank them right up there with the Hunger Games trilogy.
I also have a question. There is a series I have read which is going to have one more book, but it's not published yet. It's expected to be out in May. Can this count for the challenge?
Great idea! There are 3 series which I would like to finish, but they might be a bit too much for 3 months.
#1 Sherlock Holmes (9 books, finished 2 so far) - 7
#2 Anne of Green Gables (6 books, finished 3 so far) - 3
#3 Little Women (3 books, finished 2 so far) - 1
So that makes 11 books - 3 series.
I will join in for three series right now. Great idea!1. Jo Graham's Numinous World series - previously completed Black Ships, Hand of Isis, Stealing Fire, and The General's Mistress - completed final book The Emperor's Agent April 2014
2. Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials series - previously completed The Golden Compass and The Subtle Knife - completed final book The Amber Spyglass April 2014
3. Nora Roberts' In the Garden series - completed Blue Dahlia, Black Rose, and Red Lily May 2014
4. Kristin Cashore's Graceling Realm - Graceling, Fire, and Bitterblue - completed June 2014
4/3 - challenge completed!
I rethought the series that I want to read this year. I have 4 series in progress right now. I dont know if I can get through all of them by June. But I'll go for it.Divergent (0/3)
Lord of the Rings (2/3)
Fifty Shades of Grey (2/3)
Vampire Academy (1/6)
Since we have 3 months, I think I can finish 10 series. I've been working on catching up several mystery series and I've gotten close enough to finish (or at least be ready for the next publication). CHALLENGE COMPLETE - 06/12/14

This sounds like fun! I'm currently reading A Dance with Dragons, which is the 5th and most recent book of George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series, but that will be done before April. I do have other possibilities, though. The Poisoned Pilgrim is the 4th and most recent book of The Hangman's Daughter series by Oliver Pötzsch. I've read the other 3, so this will be easy to finish.

TBRI'm really enjoying Marcel Proust's Remembrance of Things Past Series, also known as In Search of Lost Time, but I have 5 books of 7 still to read. I'll think about that one.
The same is true of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. I've read 9 of the 14 books in that series, and they're all chunksters!
One more possibility is The Lord of the Ring Trilogy. I've read The Hobbit, but not this trilogy.
I am super excited for this challenge. I have so many series on the go and looking forward to finishing some off. Welcome to all who have signed up already. I am looking forward to seeing what you all read. Participants

3. Unwind Dystology 1/4
4. Divergent 1/3 There are a few in-between books I may read.
5. Odd Thomas 3/6
@Claire the series does count if there is a book coming out in May. As long as there are three books in the series and you have read all of the books published before the end of the quarter that is fine.Claire, I put you down for 3 series. Is that correct?
Jodi, would William Shakespeare's War of the Roses series work? I've read only the first of 8 books in that series and had planned to read the other 7 in the next few months.

Hi everyone,We should do some buddy reads. Jacelyn and I are planning to buddy up for the Hush, Hush series. I only have to read Finale for that one.
I noticed that there are a few who want to read The Divergent Series. I have only read the first book but if people want to buddy up, we could ask Zara to set us up.

The Mistborn Trilogy Boxed Set has three books in it and should be read as a series - however Sanderson has released a companion book and called that Mistborn #4. I don't particularly want to read that - does the original trilogy count if I just read those three?

I actually avoid series as a point. I don't like committing to one book then feeling like I'm actually committing to 3 or more books even if I don't care for the writing. However, there are a lot of series that seem really great to break into and this may actually be an actual challenge for me!
EstaAmeliaR wrote: "The Mistborn Trilogy Boxed Set has three books in it and should be read as a series - however Sanderson has released a companion book and called that Mistborn #4. I don't particularl..."EstaAmeliaR I think with the intention of this challenge, you are supposed to read all books associated with the challenge. The only ones that you do not have to read according to the rules are the in-between books (0.5, 1.5)
I think I have everyone listed. Please correct me if I don't have the right number of series you intend to read or if I missed your name off the list.

Theresa, I am so sorry I don't know how I didn't see you! I have you on the list now. I don't see why Shakespeare's plays won't work. Go for it.
By the way, how is the Hangman's Daughter series? I have the first book but haven't read it yet.
Jodi, I just figured my posts were vague and you were waiting for me to firm it up. The Hangman's Daughter series is okay for an easy read. All the books are free on Kindle if you have Amazon Prime.
@Kelsi, for sure read The Mortal Instruments. I loved that series. I think the last one is supposed to come out in May. As for your other question about The Black Jeweles Trilogy, Kara can you answer that. It was originally published as a trilogy but now there are 9 books in the series. Does Kelsi have to read all 9 when it was originally published as a trilogy? I have a feeling the answer will be yes, but we will see. EstaAmeliaR, this question would pertain to you too.

This challenge focuses on finishing series you've started. They can be series you started as a child and want to know what happened to your favorite childhood characters (for example, Lowry's The Giver or L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time), they can be series you would like to start and finish within the span of the quarter, or they can just be any series you started but never finished.
Rules:
- For the purposes of this challenge, a series must have at least three books in it
- Identify how many and which series you plan to finish
- Books marked as x.5 in the series are optional (for example, Percy Jackson and the Sword of Hades is #4.5 in the series so does not need to be read)
- No matter how many books you've read in the series prior to the start of this challenge (even if you've read four of the five books, say), it counts as long as you finish
- You can change your planned lists at any time
- Progress will be tracked by completed series only--individual books will not count, but you can still use this thread to track them
- To count, you must finish the series through books published in 2013 (i.e., if a series has three books currently out but a fourth is coming out later in 2014, you only need to finish the first three books to count it toward this challenge)
Jodi is both the person who suggested this challenge and its leader. Thank you, Jodi!
