Can't remember who, but I think they sat at the post office too long. I am no longer a mod, Jon will have to send cookies now.
LMAO! I will not venture a guess, lest find myself on HA double secret probation ;) (which I may already be on anyway...)
I loved The Terror. Unsure if I should invest into Abominable. Seems very similar. Word is, they are making the Terror into an AMC series. When We Join Jesus in Hell was incredible as well. Latest piece of crime noir that I loved was The Bitch by Les Edgerton. The Bitch
Some repeats on mine, and I'm assuming novella and short story collections are acceptable, and I'm only putting a few by King so my list won't be too King-centric, and I'll try to limit the list to horror (for now), and I know I'll leave some wonderful ones out, and, well, here goes...ROSEMARY'S BABY, Ira Levin

We need We Need to Talk About Kevin Gravity 11/22/63 'Salem's Lot Before I Go To Sleep I find I read a lot more 5 star books since I joined goodreads
I picked one title per writer, pretty sure there would be more but a ton of what comes up at first is fantasy which I've been reading more of in recent years. The Bridge
It
Boy's Life
The Best of Joe R. Lansdale
Drawing Blood
Horns
Mr. Hands
Audrey's Door
The Children's Hour
The Pines
Imajica
The Taken
Still in the middle of this one but I know this one will be a 5 star The Amulet

Dang it, Amanda! I knew I'd forget something. I wholeheartedly agree with The Best of Joe R. Lansdale. I'll amend my list!

Ha :) Trust me, my list would be longer if I were to list all of my 5 stars. For instance, I forgot Let's Go Play At The Adams'

I keep hearing about that one. I'll bump it up on my TBR. Thanks, Amanda!

I know, I have problems. ;-)

Not at all :) I always hated to make a short list myself.

Perfectly understandable, sir.

It is one of those books I would place in a league all its own, even better than five stars, perfect not only in the words upon the page but in its affect on the reader (this reader anyway). Beyond a great story, thought provoking and morality searching.

It's one of my top ten of all time, regardless of genre. And I totally agree with what you say here about it.
I cried for a good while after finishing it. And I held my son.

I did the same thing with my list. Mine would have been so overloaded with King and McCammon that I didn't want my infatuations with those two authors to show! Ha ha.

Glad I'm not the only one, Ken. I could've included three times the number of Kings in there, but like you said, I didn't want my love to draw too much attention away from the rest of the list. :-)

Hey, at least I've got some Blatty on there now to counteract the Kinginess.
Jon Recluse wrote: "Just Horror....King Free.https://www.goodreads.com/review/list..."
Great list, Jon. From just your list alone, I have years of good reading ahead.
I have to concur with Pierre, Eileen and Charlene. So many books on Jon's list that i can't wait to get to.
I have not read much horror but I absolutely loved The Drowning Girl which someone mentioned earlier. Will be checking some of these out over the next few months.
Jon Recluse wrote: "Just Horror....King Free.https://www.goodreads.com/review/list..."
Jon, that's an awesome shelf. On the first page alone, I saw two more five-stars I should have added (the Ligotti and the Lieber). And I saw many more I haven't read yet but need to read soon. Thank you!

Thank you, Eileen! Some of those recs came from the folks on HA (specifically Fevre Dream and the two Blattys).
Charlene wrote: "That is a great shelf, Jon! All of these picks are so good. :)"Thank you, Charlene! I have to admit...in typing it out during lunch today, I kept thinking of how many of the titles I need to re-read. :-)

Jonathan and Jon:Excellent list/shelf. Can't argue with either of them. I see many of my favorites...
I just finished The Pilo Family Circus and The Summer I died...they were both mind blowing in very different ways. Thanks for the recs on those!
