Andrew Van Wey was born in Palo Alto, California, spent part of his childhood in New England, and lived in South Korea for over a decade.

When he's not writing or teaching Andrew can be found mountain biking, playing video games, or hiking with his wife and their sheepdog Daenerys. He loves education, traveling, and geeking out about D&D and fountain pens. He considers bacon and eggs to be a perfectly acceptable meal at all times of day and tattoos to be high art.

Hiya CalifCat!
Apologies! I'm not on Goodreads often and this questions slipped by me. Thanks for spending your time with my words and the Rineheart family in Forsaken. I'm thrilled you enjoyed it! My novel of 90s bodily horror, Head Like a Hole, seems to be doing pretty well and might be a fun followup. Or, if you're in the mood for ghosts and cosmic horrors, my latest is By the Light of Dead Stars, which I recommend for anyone that loves It, Stranger Things, Wayward Pines, and small town horrors with huge consequences.

Thanks for reading!

Hi Mistress of the Bleeding Sorrow,

Apologies about the slow response. I just saw this question. For now, the Hollow Dream series is out of print. While I do have plans to republish the full series, it's currently unavailable for purchase. If you're interested in a similar mix of cosmic horror and coming of age, I recommend By the Light of Dead Stars. I think it's my best book to date.

On the Lost Coast, some things should never be found.

On the Lost Coast, some things should never be found.

When tragedy shatters thirteen-year-old Zelda Ruiz’s adolescence, she retreats with her uncle Mark to the bucolic town of Greywood Bay. It’s a chance to heal, a chance to build a new life together.

But nothing can prepare them for the malignant terror that has long coveted these lands.

It looms over redwood groves and lurks in the foundations of h Read more of this blog post »

Wow, thanks Laurie!

I'd suggest By the Light of Dead Stars if you like cosmic horror, small towns with dark, haunting secrets, and a splash of coming of age. I think it's my most mature work, and I'm excited to be returning to that world very soon wi See Full Answer

Hi Alana,

Thank you for spending your time with my words. I'm delighted you enjoyed Forsaken, despite the Rineheart family's dark secrets and deeds.

Yes, I self-publish all my books. And yes, I would absolutely do it again... and I do! Horror is a ver See Full Answer
