"Mommy and Daddy are busy right now. And will probably be going to bed to go to sleep soon to. Like you should. Plus they'll be coming to get you tomorrow after noon." Raven told her soothing her hair thinking that might help clam her down.


"Oh, I'm sure we can work that in.." He told her moving a piece of hair out of her face. "Yes, yes you were that. Very much so. I think you would of bitten my arm off that day if I'd given you a chance." He said thinking back to that day, she had been spitting mad. If he had let her he felt sure she would of tired and taken out his arm by using her teeth. "Mmm, maybe this time we should use protection, you know. Just so we don't end up with another little munchkin running around the house this soon." It was okay that he called his daughter a munchkin. Seeing as he had started calling her that as a nickname and it kind of just stuck.



Grace had been sitting up, she had gotten up and walked around tried to read for a while. But had failed so had made herself a cup of hot chocolate instead and had waited at the kitchen table until he had gotten home. Looking up when the door opened seeing him finally coming in.

Avery shook her head no. "Now mommy and daddy come now." She screamed crying. She could smell Derek scent everywhere and it didn't help at all. Avery was stubborn just as much as her mother and father and wasn't going to stop until they came. "Daddy sing song and tuck me in his turn." She was so use to the schedule they put her on that it was hard to break her from.

Ruby shook her head. "I can only have children if the Elders grant us access and last time they wanted Avery and they still do because she is going to be powerful. Even then protection doesn't work with vampires, because only a select few can have children. Most vampires unless royals are infertile due to the fact that our bodies are frozen at a certain age." Ruby explained softly. "Sorry for the info dump, did I ruin the moment?" She asked.

Will walked in. "Sorry business didn't go as I hoped it would." He muttered as he sat his briefcase down.

Raven had to wonder now why she has agreed to babysitting for them. They didn't spoil her but she was just about as stubborn as her parents. Hiding a sigh. "Avery, honey... I know you want mommy and daddy. But mommy and daddy are sleepy too, they need rest just like you do. Tell you what. I'll lay down with you and we can a little sleep over. Then in the morning, we'll call mommy and daddy to come pick you up."


Nick did like the info. It would help for the future if they ever deiced to have more children. Kissing her noise softly. "Kinda.. but we can still cuddle and kiss if you'd like." he offered.



Grace nodded curtly. Finishing off her hot chocolate before getting up and placing the cup in the sink. Then leaning against the counter. "Can we talk? Please? Without you having to up and leave again."

"A sleep over?" Avery asked. "We can't have sleepover with Ellie the Elephant." She said with a serious look on her face. Avery let a yawn escape her mouth slowly she was really tired. "Mommy, daddy sleeping? They can't sleep without me too."


Ruby nodded her head a little bit, she hated the fact that she ruined the mood. It wasn't they had sex all the time like some couples and most of the time Ruby was uncomfortable with it, but she just felt like it was a right time and she blew it with and info dump. "We should get home before someone finds this." She whispered softly getting up off him. Raven I just ruined the stupid romantic night Ruby thought blocking Nick from hearing her thoughts.

"I'm not going to have to leave again." Will snapped and then looked down. "I"m sorry, I shouldn't snap at you like that."

"Will you at least try if I lay down with you? Mommy and Daddy I'm sure has had a very busy day, just like we have. So now it's time for us to get some sleep." Raven said gently yawning herself once she'd seen Avery's little yawn. She hadn't missed that.


Nick could tell that she wasn't happy with herself about ruining the mood. But there would be other times that they could have it. There was nothing saying they had to do it right now. "Okay. Lets get going then.." He said getting up and then taking her hand to lead her to the door so that they could start heading home.


Raven heard Ruby inside of her head saying that she had ruined the stupid romantic night. Thinking back to her but blocking everyone else. 'you guys can always try again...'




Grace felt her eyebrows crease a little bit in the middle. It felt like every time she wanted to talk about something or she wanted to just be with him and cuddle without doing anything more he always had to leave. And he never told her why, even when he came back after hours of being gone. So she was a little bit weary of him not having to leave again. Even though she could also tell that he was tired due to the fact that he was so snippy with her just for asking if they could talk. Not that she blamed him for being tired. She was tired too seeing as it was nearly 2 in the morning now. Letting out a tired sigh as she brushed a strand of hair from her eyes. "It's okay... your tired, I'm tired."

Ruby pulled away from Nick's hand, this always how their romantic nights ended in her messing up and Nick just not wanting to do anything romantic, but cuddling. 'Raven for the past five years every time we plan a romantic night, I ruin it and Nick doesn't feel like doing anything. Or Nick has some excuse.' She snapped in her mind forgetting to block Nick out. Ruby looked down she wanted to cry, but her eyes were dried out. "Nick, what am I doing wrong? There has to be a reason why this happens every time? Are you having an affair? Am I not being a good enough mate? I'm so patient with you Nick, I don't push you. But for five years all we have been doing is cuddling and sometimes that's limited. I just want to know what I can do to please you and make you happy. I'm trying so hard."

Will looked up at Grace he had been tossing an idea in his head ever since the incident at the hotel. The more he thought about it the more he began to believe to be true. "I have to make one more call before we go to bed. Work has been really busy." He knew he promised he wouldn't go anywhere tonight, but this was a quick call. He dialed Raven's number and walked outside. "This is important, I been tossing this idea in my head and wanted to tell you and maybe you could end up just telling me that its crazy. But what if the Ruby we have seen for five years is a replacement and the real one is kept somewhere. I know this sounds crazy, but Ruby's personality has changed completely. That would explain why Nick hasn't been proposed or slept with her because in some sort of level he knows its not the real her? I haven't told Nick about because I want some more proof when they pick Avery up Raven test her." Will said, you could say he was a workaholic. "I have to go." He hung up before Raven could get a word in and walked inside of his house. He looked at his briefcase opened on the table. "Grace were you in my briefcase?"

Raven had gone to tell him that, that was crazy. That Nick would of known as soon as it had happened and that he would of gone looking for her, right away. Not wait five years to do it. But he hadn't let her get a word in before he had hung up. Simply just telling her to test Ruby when her and Nick came tomorrow morning to pick up Avery. How did he expect her to test Ruby? Ask her something only the 'real' Ruby would know? But he did have a point. Ruby's whole determiner had changed. And part of her personality as well. But surly that didn't mean that she was a replacement and the 'real' one was being hidden someplace for the past five years. Because if that was the case, she would of tired to get out, go find Nick. Or at least call him to her. And she wouldn't wait this long to do it either. But she'd give it a shot. Hanging up the phone and then walking back to bed.



Grace had been ready for bed, and wanted him to come with her. They had even already crawled into their huge bed that they shared and she had been drifting off to sleep when she got woken again by him saying he had to make a phone call and it would be short. And once he got back from it they could go to bed. Hopefully for real this time. She thought, as she thought about what could possibly be in the briefcase that he seemed to carry everywhere. Walking out into the kitchen to see if he was in there, upon not finding him there she opened it and quickly went through some of it. Which to her didn't make much sense anyways. At least he wasn't cheating on her. That much she could tell. Shaking her head and locking it back up. Starting to head back to there room when she heard the door that lead outside open back up, only to be meet with him asking her if she'd gone in his suitcase. Could she lie to him without him hearing the beat of her heart to the lie? Or would he catch it and it would only cause an argument between them? She wondered as she walked back in to where she knew he was. Deciding it was to risky to chance the lie, and finding that it had popped up a little bit. Guess the buckle hadn't fit all the way, and that was what had given her away. "Yes,--- "

Will swore under his breath he couldn't believe that she didn't trust him enough to understand that he wasn't cheating. He wasn't going to explain anything to her it was too risky for Grace to get caught in this mess that they were in long before he met her. He walked into their bedroom without saying a word to her about any of the contents in the brief case he could always deal with it in the morning and this wasn't the time for it. Will need some sleep before trying to even talk to her about without giving too much information. He let his eyes closed and fall into a deep sleep.

Avery was up all night and didn't get any sleep. She knew her parents were coming to pick her up today and she was happy. "Auntie Raven tired?" She asked tilting her head to the side. "Mommy and daddy are coming to get me." Avery yawned a little bit she was really tired. She ran up to the window as she saw her parents pull in. "Auntie Raven they're here. Where Uncle Derek?"Avery was very observante and realized that he didn't come home last night.

Grace felt bad now that the truth about rather or not she had gone into his briefcase was out. But she had; had to know if he was or not. It wasn't because she didn't trust him enough to trust him not to cheat on her. But it had seemed like whenever she brought something up to him no matter what it was for the past couple months- and a little bit before that even- he had found a reason not to talk to her. And when she just wanted to be around him, maybe even go further then making out- heck she'd be happy even if they did that! He gave her a reason on why he couldn't and then he'd leave. Watching now as he walked back to their room without even saying a word to her. Biting her lip but slowly fallowing him back to the bedroom and then crawling into bed. Leaving a lot of room between the two of them.



Raven yawned. She hadn't slept a wink last night after Will's call. She had been to busy trying to come up with a way to test to see if Ruby really was Ruby or not. Pouring a cup of coffee. "Yes, Auntie Raven is very sleepy.." Hearing their car pull around the corner. Then looked over when Avery asked her where Uncle Derek was. She didn't rightly know where he was either. For all she knew he could be at the bar, or a strip club. "I don't know where Uncle Derek is, honey.. I'm sure he'll be back soon." Yeah right. She doubted that. If he hadn't bothered coming home last night what made her think that he'd get up this early-- even though it was only 9 in the morning. But it still felt early after the long night.-- To come home only to say good-buy to Avery before she got picked up. Hearing them pull into the drive way going to answer the door.

Ruby looked up and knocked on the door. Nick was by her side she hadn't said a word to him since they got to their house last night mostly out anger and heart break. There was a lot of things that she kept a secret from Nick. Things that she did before he turned back into a vampire that she wasn't proud of doing, but it was what it was. She knew she acted a lot different in these past five years mostly because she gave away the part that made Ruby, Ruby. To keep her family alive after the what the Elders brought them back. Nick wouldn't have approved of that know one needed to know that. Ruby frowned why was her daughter tired?

Avery walked over to the couch and sat down waiting for her parents to come in. "Come in, come in." She yawned truth was that she was tired and wanted to go to sleep. "Hurry mommy daddy me tired."

Will woke up in the morning and left before Grace could say anything. He didn't want to do deal with her right now.

Raven let them in then shut the door. She still hadn't come up with anything to test Ruby with. Despite the long night and the whole lot of thinking she'd done. And it looked like Avery hadn't gotten much sleep either. With how much she was yawning. Seeing the look on Ruby's face. She had to be wondering why her daughter was so sleepy. Looking over at Avery, then back at the two of them as they walked into the living area. "Yeah, she'll need a nap, this afternoon. If she doesn't take one on the way back home." She told them quietly.




Grace had already been awake. She had woken at 3 this morning after having a nightmare. But hadn't bothered waking Will to talk to him about it. Seeing as she knew he didn't sleep well and just the fact that he had fallen asleep showed how much he needed it. And also knowing that he probably wouldn't even want to hear about it to began with if she had bothered waking him. So she hadn't bothered. Which also meant that she knew when he got up and left to go do--- whatever it was that he did these days.

Ruby nodded her head and sat on the couch rubbing her daughters head pulling her in a hug. "Mommy bought Ellie with me." She whispered softly. Picking her up gently Avery wrapped her arms around her mothers neck. She was already half asleep.

"I missed you mommy and daddy." Avery whispered softly as she forced her eyes to stay open. She notice that here was some tension in between her parents. "Daddy and mommy upset at each other make them better, Auntie Raven. Make them happy." She fidget in her mother's arms.

"Nothing is wrong between mommy and daddy." Ruby whispered in her daughters ears it was a lie, though.

Will was off to go prove his theory that he was right. To say he wasn't in the right mind was an understatement. Will was exhausted and needed rest and he had a huge secret that could ruin everything he worked so hard for with Grace. Running to Raven's house and barging in. "Raven did you do what I ask? Because Nick needs to know that's not Ruby."

Ruby turned around puzzled at Will. "Will are you feeling well?" She asked concerned he came charging at her while she had Avery in her arms. She quickly laid Avery down gently. "Never ever charge at me again while I have my daughter in my arms." She had him around the throat and wasn't going to let go. "I want one good reason why I shouldn't snap your neck. You could have seriously hurt my daughter." She snapped.

Raven had gone to assure Avery that everything was okay between her mommy and daddy. Even though there was some tension in the air between the two of them. But they always worked it out. So she wasn't going to worry about it. Looking up when she heard the door open and then saw Will come bursting in. And headed straight for Ruby with Avery still in her arms. Getting up and rushing over to where she had him held around his neck. "Let him go--- I'll talk to him." She coaxed Ruby.




After about another hour or so Grace got up. There was no point in staying in bed all day sulking about things she couldn't change. The best she could do now was try and make it up to him somehow. She thought as she pulled herself out of bed and headed to take a shower before she had breakfast.

Nick hadn't said a word to her or her daughter since they arrived at Ravens and she thought he would at least say something to calm her down. "That's not a reason." Ruby looked at Raven and felt her hands wrap around tighter. "He was charged at me while I had Avery in my arms. He's not going to get off with a stern talk."

"Let go of me you monster. Your not Ruby." Will spatted at her looking at her.

"What's this me being someone else?" Asking Will. "Answer me." She demanded.

"You just act different more submissive and like you need a man in your life. Your so dependent on Nick and your personality has changed." Will stammered as he started to struggle for air.

Ruby looked at him. "You know why because I gave away part of me too keep my family alive. So the elders wouldn't kill them. I'm surprised you guys didn't wonder why they weren't die." She was furious at Will. She took a sniff and smiled. "And you dear Will have a secret. More like it sure does bite to have yours." Ruby let go of him. "You smell like vampire again which only means your werewolf side is diminishing. That's why you spend all your time away from Grace."

Nick had nothing to say, he hadn't said anything on the way over here or last night once they'd gotten home. The most he'd said was a quick 'hi' to Raven when she had opened the door and let them in. Other than that he'd said nothing. Not that he thought he could say anything now. After she had told them what really happened. He had sensed a change in her--- but he hadn't thought it to be that. After all-- she hated her family. Not so much her parents. But just everyone else. But she loved them just as much if she had willingly given a part of herself up to save all of them. Looking down at his little girl as she slept. She looked so much like her mother when she did the similarities on how they both looked so much alike when they slept next to each other almost took his breath away every time he saw them next to each asleep. Looking back at them as Ruby declared that Will had a secret and that it was that his werewolf side was fading, that he was becoming more Vampire again. It had been years--- sense his werewolf side had kicked in to high gear. So what was making his vampire side surface after all this time? But it did answer why he was spending so much time around Raven and not his own mate. He thought now as he stood, to go over to be part of the long talk he was sure to come.




Raven snarled. She didn't like it when people- people she cared about and considered friends were threatened in her own home. And not by her or her mate. "Set him down. Now." She told Ruby in a low but threatening voice. Waiting until she did or didn't. Seeing as now they needed to talk about--- well everything. And she needed to ask Will about his vampire side coming back. But she'd be doing that after she sent Nick and Ruby along with there daughter to go home.

Ruby shook her head no she wasn't going to let him go. "Why should I let him go? He almost hurt my little girl. That's a severe action that has a very severe punishment." Ruby said looking at him.

"Go ahead kill me, but this silent treatment that Nick is giving you won't go away. If anything it will become permanent. Do you really think Nick will want you if you kill me? Do you think he wants you now after all he won't even sleep with you because your not the same girl he fell in love with so many years ago. Nick doesn't love you anymore at least I can came to terms that I might lose my mate, but you already lost yours long before I did mine. Maybe your unlovable, or maybe your baggage is so heavy that you scare away everyone. Look at Nick he won't even ask you marry him. You can kill me, but you already lost everything." Will snapped he was challenging her. "Remember Nick doesn't have a way to fake his own death to get out your relationship."

Ruby didn't know how to react to this, right now she believed everything that he Will said. All the signs were there she ruined her relationship with Nick, because she had too much baggage. She threw Will across the room he hit a picture that was hanging on the wall shattering it. He was right she had no one. Air wouldn't reach lungs as she started to tremble. There was sharp pain in her chest the world around her was becoming dizzy. Panic spread through her body and she couldn't think of anything to say.

"Alright! That's enough! From both of you.... Nick, take your daughter and your mate and get out of my house." She told him, they all three might be guests but it was still her house. And she didn't want it to turn into a war zone. Because that's exactly what would happen if she allowed one or both of them to stay. Then when they left she'd be stuck with a mess to clean up. At least she only had to worry about the picture frame and the glass right now that she'd thrown Will into. Shaking her head. Ruby and Nick could work things out.--- They could just do it outside of her house and in their own.



Nick nodded, knowing what would happen as well. And then he'd feel bad about it once they left and Raven had to deal with the clean up. Going and picking up Avery softly so not to wake her. And then returning to where Ruby still stood. "Come on, honey.. we should go."

Ruby just stood there trying to figure out something. Her mind was racing into and no thoughts were running straight they were all so jumble. She realized that Nick said something to her, but it didn't matter because Will was right. Tears started to run down her cheeks like a river. Focusing on something was an option any other time she was able to hide her worry, but this wasn't one of them. She walked over to Will and picked him again by the throat she wasn't done with him. Not after everything he said to her, not after he almost hurt her daughter. "You think its funny? Its not." She stammered.

Will laughed. "Aww look at this your having anxiety attack" He said. "You can't throw me with sweaty palms your barley able to hold me." He said he kicked her trembling knees causing her to fall to the floor. "How does it feel to be at the bottom? You're majesty."

"S-s...." Ruby was trying to say something, but words wouldn't form anymore.

"Nick doesn't care about you anymore, the only reason is staying with you is because of Avery. Face it you're unloveable." Will said with a chuckle. Everything he was saying and doing was his werewolf side. "No need to leave I will be showing myself out the door." He walked out of the door.

Raven felt as if she'd been struck dumb. That wasn't Will's vampire side.. so was this-- his wolf side? Was his wolf trying to get out or was it already almost out and was speaking through Will's mouth to get to Ruby. It didn't matter. What mattered was that they were both okay. She thought as she watched as he walked out the front door just as easily as he had charged in. Not knowing what to say to any of this.


Nick still held his daughter in his arms while she slept. But he had no idea how to even start trying to clam his upset mate. Gently handing Avery over to Raven and starting across the room and standing by Ruby. Gently touching her shoulder and then pulling her into himself.

Ruby backed away from Nick quickly. "Y-y-ou did nothing to stick up for me. You just s--t-t-ood there and watched. N-now you want to hold me and try to comfort me" She stuttered softly. Tears ran down her face. "Is it because W-i-ill is right? Th-a-a-t I'm unlovable?" Ruby looked up at him helpless and then down. "I-i-i should go." She whispered and turned around trying to calm herself down, but she couldn't. The world was spinning around her quickly and she stumbled some hitting the floor. She squeezed her eyes shut the only other time this happened to her was when her parents died. "This isn't real. I'm going to wake up in Nicks arms and everything is going to be okay" she thought aloud.


Will ran off to the woods some where. He didn't mean to get so upset at them. He knew what was happening and he was going to try to prevent as much possible.

Nick sighed heavily when she pushed him away and backed away from him. Then reached out when she started to pass out. Realizing it was one of her more serous attacks. Usually she could handle it and then it would pass after a few minutes. But sense Will had said all that--- it wouldn't be that easy this time around. Gently picking her up and carrying her back to the coach and laying her down, before joining her and resting her head on his leg. Knowing they'd just have to wait until it passed now. Already starting to think of how to start this talk once she woke.



After her shower Grace went to the kitchen and started routing around for something for breakfast. If Will had still been here and not--- working yet. She would of put forth the effort of actually making a home made breakfast. But seeing as it was just her. She quickly decided on a bowl of ceriel. Maybe she'd call or text him after while and ask him if he'd be home before dinner time. If he would be, she'd fix dinner for them. Something she knew he really liked. As part of trying to make up for what she'd done. She thought as she ate her breakfast.

Ruby was breathing was erratic and air wouldn't enter lungs. The world was closing in around her and her eyes opened she didn't want to be near Nick, he didn't care about her anymore that part was almost certain to her. He wouldn't even talk to her was she that horrible? Tears ran down her eyes forming rivers across her cheeks. "Is it true N-i-ick just answer that." Nick could take this away and make her forget, Nick could even make her the same Ruby again if he wanted, but she doubted he would do any of those things. The self-doubt was preventing her from calming down.

Will sighed and gripped the bench he was sitting down on hard. His vampire side was dormant for so long and now they were fighting and one of them was going to claw its way to surface. He pushed his vampire side down and his eyes flashed a bright blue. It was mating season and both Grace and him knew that. That's why they kept some their wolves concealed as much as possible, but this was was different, he couldn't keep it in because if he did then it would end it disaster. Right now all he wanted was Grace that's all his wolf could think about.

Nick looked down when she asked if it was true. If everything Will had said about her was true and that he didn't want to be with her anymore. Wishing he knew a way to sooth her. "No, It's not. I've known for a while that something had changed with you. I just never figure out what it was. And never bothered asking because I thought you would come to me about it on your own.. and it wasn't my place to invade if you didn't want me to know something." He told her softly wondering if that would make her pull away or not. Seeing as he sensed her not being too fond of being this close to him.

Ruby pulled away and looked up at him. Hurt was filled in her eyes. "Prove it that he was wrong. Puh-leas-s-se, you and I haven't been the same and everything points to what Will says. I can't stop thinking that. And you're doing nothing about it. You can do so much and your doing nothing to make it stop." Her arms were trembling. "You can do so much" Ruby whispered.

Grace was at home, it had been a while and now after coming back from the store to get stuff for dinner tonight she was putting it away. Already planning out how she'd fix it. She'd bake the mac and cheese and grill up the chicken. Seeing as that was how she knew Will liked it. And then after dinner maybe they could cuddle for a while and talk. That would be nice for a change. She thought as finished up putting everything away.


Nick sighed, she was right of corse. He could do so much but he hadn't-- because he had hoped so bad that she would come to him on her own. And that he wouldn't have to make her tell him or anything else. "What do you want me to do? Tell me what you want me to do.and I'll do it. Anyhing."

Will had stayed away for hours knowing that once he saw her, he would lose control. He paced back and forth getting jittery knowing that his wolf wanted her right now. He started his way back home in a walk and then it turned into a sprint. When he arrived to her apartment he opened the door. His eyes drifted back and forth and then they landed on her. Will's common sense was out of the drain his wolf was in control. He slammed her into the island kissing her lips hard.

Ruby looked up at him. "Make it stop." She whispered softly. "M-a-a-ake it stop." Repeating the three words softly. "You can make it stop and make it all better."

At first Grace hadn't known what had hit her, and had been about to attack. Thinking that someone had broken in and meant to assault her. Slowly coming to realize after a few heart beats as the smell hit her and the hair color became clearer to her, that it was Will. Yes, she had wanted anything-- even if it was just a fifteen minute cuddle before bed. But lately she hadn't even gotten that. Because of--- well she didn't know. He claimed it was work. But she didn't think so. She had thought it to be due from something else. But even when she had been planning something for tonight she hadn't expected him to react in this way- let alone, why would he be acting like this now of all times? Yeah, it was mating season... but he hadn't shown any interest in her in that way for a long while now. She had even begun to question herself. Unless something had changed--- or his wolf had broke free. Those where the only two logical reasons she could think of; of why he was so intent on kissing her until she was out of breath. Slowly beginning to kiss him back unsure on rather it was some kind or joke or not.




Nick nodded, looking into her eyes. And saying. "Okay, I'll make it stop then." Starting to go through her mind. Picking out the bad memories of them but keeping some as well- the less not so bad fights. And showing her all the good times they'd had and how they had gotten through some things. Showing her through his own mind how much he loved her then, and how much he still loved her and their daughter. Wanting to just make it all better.

Will kissed her more deeply pushing any senses that he was feeling of from his vampire side. He wasn't a vampire he was a werewolf and he refused to believe that everything that he worked for. They worked for would go all down the drain because of his vampire side.

Ruby nodded her head weakly and could feel everything that hurt her go away. She knew better than to have Nick do it because running away from her problems wasn't going to fix the problem. Making her forget was like a band aid it would eventually be ripped off. Her eyes shut as her body shut down from exhaustion.

Grace still didn't know what quit to make of this. But after so long of not having this- of them being itiment with each other she didn't really care how this had started. Only that it went on, and then at some point finally ended. And seeing as it was matting season this could go several different ways. But for now-- she'd let it be. Wrapping her arms around his waist as he deepened the kiss.



Nick knew that at some time in the furter she would remember. That her memory of this. All of this. Would return. But for now he would help her feel better, and hopefully when she did remember that she also remembered all the good they had done together. How much he loved her and their daughter. Who knew? Maybe by the time she did remember they would be married and happy. He could only hope. He thought to himself as her eyes feel shut and she shut down from being so exhausted.

Will focused back to the kissing and let her kiss him. He started to feel queazy and pulled away. "I'm sorry, I...." He knew what was happening his body was rejecting the food he ate earlier, but he couldn't let Grace know. "I just ate a nasty rabbit this morning." He lied.

A couple hours later Ruby's eyes snapped open. "Hi." She whispered looking up at Nick. "How's the best guy in the whole wide world."

Grace let him pull back a little but still kept her hands on his waist. Just more relaxed then they had been moments before. Lifting an eyebrow when he told her that he ate a nasty rabbit this morning. "A nasty rabbit? For breakfast? You?" No way did she believe that. Over the years she had hunted with him and spent hours in the woods with him as well. There was no way that he'd eat a nasty rabbit. He got queasy just seeing a two week old kill... There was no way that he'd willingly eat a nasty rabbit.




"Hey, sleepy head... sleep well?" He asked when he saw her eyes snap open. "I'm okay, just relaxing. Raven's upstairs playing a game with Avery."

"Yeah its nothing. I'll feel better in the morning." Will said looking up at her. "I'm going to go some fresh air and I'll be back for dinner." He said with a smile smelling his favorite food in the air which made him queasier. "I'll be back for dinner." He reassured her.

"Yes, I did." Ruby whispered softly. "Nick I'm not exactly sure why we are at Raven's place. Weren't we just at home?" She asked looking up at him confusedly.

"Okay--" She said, watching him leave again. Something was going on, seeing as there was no way, that he'd come back just to start making out with her just to stop and tell her that he needed some fresh air due to eating a nasty rabbit. She'd have to try and talk to him tonight. Seeing as he had said- twice- that he'd be home in time for dinner.



"Yeah, but then we came to pick up Avery, remember? We had Raven baby sit while we spent a night together.." he had manged to save that part. The fact that they had spent a night together, even though he hadn't left a lot of details about what had happened.

Will wasn't sure if he would be back in time for dinner all he knew was that he couldn't be near Grace it made things hurt a lot. Near Grace it felt like his insides were on fire which didn't help the queasiness. He manage his way to the forest and fell to the ground and gripped the floor of the forest.

Ruby didn't answer right away trying to remember the last thing she remembered. "Yeah we were cooking dinner and we ate it together. It was an okay night." She said a little confused, but decided to push that away.

Grace didn't know what else to think about--- well any of this. It was just all too confusing. Things between them had been weird lately. And that's what had made her come to think he might be having an affair. It was still possible, but she didn't think so. If he had come in and had simply just started making out with her for no reason at all. Deciding that they'd have to talk tonight. They had too. No matter how much he didn't want to, it was something that she felt that they had to do in order to move forward with each other.



Nick nodded having not known what her answer would be. At least she remembered that. It would count for something. What she didn't know. "So, you wanna wait until Avery finishes her game with Raven to take off?" He asked having thought it best to change the subject.

Ruby looked at Nick for a second then back down. "Let's take Avery home its time for her nap. This week have kindergarten registration and I want to buy her a cute little outfit. We also have to go over the rules for being near humans. Then she will be starting her vampire studies this week including her royalty lessons" Ruby said with a smile. "And she will have her daddy in the same classs. I should have taught you sooner." Frowning some feeling really bad about it.


His body was having an inner war there was nothing he could do about it. The pain was surreal. He knew Grace would want to do something about it and he couldn't let her do that.

Nick smiled, at her when she said that he'd be in the same class as Avery when it came to the royalty lessons and how she should of taught him sooner. "Oh that's right.. I almost forgot about registration. Yeah that's going to be a whole new ball game for both of us I think." He said talking about going over the rules about being around humans and the rules they'd have to fallow. "It's okay, besides it might help her with one of us being there for the lessons consisting of the royal studies."




Grace frowned. Something was wrong... slowly feeling a pain start to spread threw her body. What was happening?? Why was she feeling so much pain all over? Was it some sort of hex that someone had put on her and now was using it against her? Or was something wrong with Will? Clenching her stomach area as she leaned bent over in pain. Thinking to him threw their connection "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, well I'm teaching it because no one else wants to be near you. According to them your not a real vampire." Ruby looked down some she blamed herself for this too. Nick was a great person and his personality, but being a vampire wasn't him all the way. She accepted that a little bit, but she loved him and would do anything to make sure he was happy. "I love you Nick"

Will took a deep breath and forced the pain to stopped for now. 'Yeah I'm okay' he said to her. He wasn't okay and he refused to let her find out

Yeah, Nick knew that. Had known it for years now, not even her family considered him a real vampire. Only because she had changed him when he had saved her all those years ago when they first meet from being shot with a wooden arrow. He had jumped in front of it and saved her and then she had changed him when he would of died. "I know,... no one really does. And I'm going to try and work on that, being more vampire like I guess you'd call it. " He told her knowing that she did accept that he wasn't the best vampire but he was trying. And he'd try even harder if that meant earning her full approval. "I love you too.."


Grace let out a breath when the pain stopped, not understanding why. She'd have to check for hex bags, right away to see if that was the cause of it. Or if it had been Will and he just wasn't telling her. 'okay..' Standing up straight and waiting a few moments to regain her breath again. Then went and started looking for hex bags.

Ruby looked over at him and smiled softly him. "Nick, I know you are trying so hard. Sometimes I feel that maybe us weren't meant to be. That you were supposed to be a human and that makes me feel bad because you could of have a better life without me." Her eyes landed on him. "I don't want to force you to be something your not"

Will looked down feel bad for lying. He could still feel the pain, but he made sure that Grace couldn't feel it. Taking a deep breath he needed morphine, maybe Raven could help, but that meant explaining things.

"No, I don't think I could of... I think that's were your wrong. If I hadn't of meet you I would of probably gone back to being the same guy I had been before we'd moved here and I meet you. Meeting you, that's one of the best things that could of happened to me. You have to believe that." He told her listening in to Raven and Avery's game. They were cleaning up, so they could leave soon.


Raven had played a bored game with Avery while she had waited for Ruby to wake up and so that Nick could have a little time with her once she did. But now they were just talking, and hopefully Derek would be home soon. Seeing as she hadn't seen him sense last night. Helping Avery pick up the pieces of the game they'd just finished and putting it away before they started down the hall to head downstairs.

Ruby didn't answer right away as she was lost in thought. "Nick you are afraid to act like your old self that's why you don't act like a vampire?" She asked softly. "I didn't know the old you, but I know this you and I know for sure you will never go back to that self even if you act as a vampire and even if you did you will be my Nick. The Nick who I know all of his weaknesses the man I love."


Avery was bored of playing the board game. Not to mention she was exhausted and just wanted some sleep. She yawned a little bit and ran down the stairs. "Me tired daddy" she said looking sweet and innocent which she was.

Nick wasn't willing to bet that Ruby was right. She was right on a lot of things, and he could say that without feeling bad. But on this he didn't think so. But now they'd have to wait and finish this talk once they got home. Thinking to her, and just to her. "We'll finish when we get home.." Turning to his daughter a moment later when she said that she was tired. Holding out his arms to her, so that she could climb into his lap. "You got all your things together?" Asking her once she was up in his lap.


Raven walked down the stairs, and then into the guest room that Avery had slept in to make sure everything that she'd brought with her was back in the bag. Picking up a thing or two still in the room that hadn't been packed yet and put it safely in the bag where it belonged so that none of them had to worry about getting the rest of it together once they decided to leave. Before walking back out into the living room where they were sitting.

Ruby looked down he didn't believe what she said, but she did, she believed that no matter what Nick would the man she loved. There's nothing to finish if you don't believe what I said then I can't help you . I believe that no matter what you will be the man I love. If you don't believe that then why am I here? Why am I waiting to become your wife if you don't believe that? She shifted her position to the end of the couch. "I'm going to start the car." Ruby said silently

"Yes daddy, auntie Raven has my things" Avery whispered looking up at her mom. She could sense something was wrong.
