Ruby nodded her head she got up and walked to the phone. "This is Ruby, Nick is going to bring in Avery with me. Thank you, bye see you soon." She hung up looking at Nick waiting for her next order. "Any other orders?" She asked. "I will do and be anything that you ask of me."

Nick picked up Avery and started to walk to Ruby so that they could go and get in the car so that they could head over. "We need to get going... and that means going and getting in the car. If you want once we're in the car you can ask me anything you want." He said carrying Avery to the door and then going out to put her in her car seat.

Will kept struggling trying to break free. "Let me go." He hissed. He looked at the shots. "Let me go." Nothing was working he was going become a mindless puppet and then Raven and Grace will fall into their trap.


Ruby was confused. "Nick you are giving me choices? I do not know how to make choices you make them for me." She said looking at him as he walked out the door.

Grace nodded that she understood and then fallowed Raven down the next hallway, ducking into an empty room when they heard feet coming down the hallway that would lead to them being found out. Only making it into the room in time to hear the feet pass by the room.


Derek shook his head, when Will ordered to be let go once again. It had been like this all morning. They had believed that he was under their control at one point and he had been. Seeing as he could remember the blank look in his eyes as he had asked him questions. And how easily he had answered them. Saying that the queen of the vampires hated all of them and that the war was coming. And how Grace only wanted love, and she was native. And how he hated the girl that they had found out to be Raven for making him into the hybrid he was today. And that it was her fault. But then a couple days later something had changed.. and now he was fighting them on almost everything. "Sorry- no can do." Derek said as he prepared the shot. Glancing over at the video cam that showed the hallways.



Nick had stopped once he was out the door and realized she hadn't fallowed. Walking back, as he glanced at Avery seeing that she'd fallen asleep at some point. Saying when he reached the door and saw her standing there. "Come and get in the car, then your welcome to ask questions or keep quite."

Will sighed he looked at him. "They aren't stupid enough to come back." He hissed.


Ruby looked up at Nick and nodded she slide into the car feeling her heart break. "Am I not a good enough mate for you?" She asked softly.

"Aren't they? I'm sure they want you back, even more so now, that you've been here for as long as you have. And Grace--- I'm sure she misses you so much. Seeing as you two are mates and she hasn't seen you in all this time." He said looking back over at Will, knowing that they were coming back. Sense they might be smart, but not as smart as to not get caught on the video cam that they'd installed.

Will looked at him. "Give the shot and get over with coward." He snapped. "Or even better yet do it when Grace comes because I can't wait to see the look on her face when she sees her brother." He smirked looking at him. "Now I wonder what her face will be when her big brother gives her shot too?" He said trying to get on his last nerve.

Ruby looked down when he didn't answer feeling her heart break in half. "Never mind." It caused her a tremendous amount of pain, but she masked it. He wasn't controlling her like she wanted him to. She wasn't a good enough mate and now she had to punish herself for doing wrong.

"Fine. Lets get it over with then. " He said, walking over and flicking it a few times. "I never said that I'd need to give her a shot. Seeing as the alpha might change his mind and decide that she doesn't need it, and if by chance he still thinks she might need it. It's possible he wont make me do it." He said then put the shot in his arm wanting to know what he thought about it so didn't push the plunger down.

"No that's not it... I love you. Avery loves you. But this, the controlling. It's going to get some getting used too. So, if I'm not doing the best job of doing it, I just wanted to let you know." He said unsure about what else to say. Glancing over, when she didn't say anything and said to never mind even though she was clearly hurt. Reaching over and gently taking her hand.

Will looked at him. "I know how this works. The alpha only wants one thing and thats power. He only thinks for himself he will make you give Grace the shot. I will enjoy every moment of it" He said. "I mean of course me being right, but it doesn't matter i will be his new puppet." Pausing for a second. "You blame yourself because you didn't teach her well enough."

Ruby pulled her hand over. "You don't understand Nick you will never understand." She said. "You will always act like a human and never a vampire." She snapped angrily. That was the broken heart speaking to Nick like that.

"He doesn't want an army of Puppets he can boss around just for fun. He wants info.... I taught Grace as best I could. But we all knew in the end she'd do what she wanted and what she believed to be the right thing. She's always been that kind of person. No matter how well or bad I might of taught her," he said, thinking about it, and how Grace had always been.


Nick let his hand drop on the arm rest that rested between the two front seats where they were at. Hoping that it was just her hurt that was talking to him and not her. "Okay... I'll become more like a male vamp if that's really what you want."

Will shook his head. "Now days everyone wants power and just because you really know someone that doesn't mean they don't want power. You and I both know alphas work that way and we also both know he will make you give her the shot." Will said. "Well you might as well get this shot done and over with it."

Ruby didn't answer she was really hurt. "I just want things to be okay. I'm going to be Queen soon and my mate needs to act like a vampire. I thought it would come to you. I thought it would work out, but now my family is at risk what I worked so hard to have is at risk. Why can't you see that?"

Derek wouldn't say that he was wrong. Seeing as he was kind of right, no matter how much he wanted to believe differently because of his friendship with the Alpha. "You may just be right.." He said, then started to push the plunger down so that he would have the shot.

"And I can't began to tell you how many times I've almost lost control,---- I don't know if you remember this. But that one time you got so hurt, you were so confused and I had no chose but to control you totally so that you didn't hurt yourself or anyone else. I almost got addicted to it, and what would of happened if I had, and I'd never stopped. But I stopped because, I knew you wouldn't trust me ever again if I kept doing it. And also I knew you also didn't want to become like the other female vampires are. Mindless, always doing as their mates say.... that's why we did what we did. Why can't we just do what we planned on doing? Pretending like your under my control at the thing and everyone else will believe it. But at home,--- we don't have to pretend. We can be ourselves."

Will felt the serum run in his veins. He was determined to fight it off for as long as possible, but that was being proven to be harder than expected.

Ruby looked at him. "No what you were planning on doing. I was going to pretend to be in love with you and that I care about you." She snapped. "You don't get it because you still are acting like a human. I'm done with everything. I'm done with you. I'm done with you hurting me to the point that I want to die. You don't even want me." Her tears turned into rage. There was a loud honk crash noise a car hit Nick's side of the vehicle. Her mind went to Avery.

She was in tears. She quickly unbuckled herself and grabbed her daughter with her elephant. "Shh baby girl." Ruby then spotted Nick on the pavement. Running over to him and bending down. "Nick please wake up." Tears ran down her face. "Nick honey I'm sorry for saying that I don't want you. I was angry and upset about everything please wake up. I really love you and Avery. You two mean everything." Avery didn't really know what was going on yet.

Noises of the ambulances got closer once they arrived they pushed her away from Nick. Ruby was shaking with Avery in her arms. "Its all my fault he thinks I hate him." She whispered to herself.

((Sorry for doing that to Nick um I sort of thought it could be one of those things that you don't know how much someone means to you until they are hurt. Maybe he is in coma?))

Nick had been trying to focus on the road as well as what Ruby had been saying. About not wanting him, and how she couldn't stand him for hurting her anymore. Then he guessed the car at the connecting road had run the light at least 50mph. And it had nailed his side of the car. At least he was thankful that it hadn't been on Ruby's side or had it get the back doors where Avery could of gotten hurt. But then he had felt himself moving forward and then being tossed from the car as the impact of it all went into him. Landing on the pavement a ways from the car, then----- nothing. Nothing at all. He could still hear what was going on around him,- sort of- but no matter how hard he tired he couldn't open his eyes. Couldn't let her know that everything was going to be okay. Then a few minutes later felt himself being moved to---- someplace. Then nothing, again.



Avery didn't know what was going on, but she could tell that something was wrong with dada. Because Mama was crying, and some people she didn't know were taking dada away to someplace. Looking up at her mama when she heard her say something but didn't understand what it meant. "Mama?"

"It's okay" Ruby said softly getting in the ambulance. She was terrified of losing Nick. "Daddy's got booboo" She whispered. "But don't worry the doctors are going to fix up daddy." Tears went down her face she hold her closely as they rode to the hopstial.

"Nick listen to me you have to wake up Avery and I need you." Gently touching his face. "I love you." She didn't know how react to all of this. Nick thought she hated him. How was she suppose to take care of Avery all by herself. Once they got to the hospital they seperated her to give him an exam.

"Baby girl daddy is going to be okay. He isn't going to die." She whispered. Ruby was mostly reassuring herself than her daughter. "Doctor how is Nick Fowl? He's my husband."

Nick could feel the vibration of the--- whatever it was that was moving. And he could hear Ruby, talking to their daughter, telling her that he'd be okay. And that he was going to make it through it. Trying to move at least a finger so that she could know that he could at least hear her. But he couldn't even do that right now. Maybe he was in a coma. Seeing as that was sure what it felt like. He thought as he felt himself being moved someplace else, but didn't know where too. Then landing someplace somewhat soft. Even though he could tell it wasn't the bed that they had at home.


"Dada got booboo?" She asked not really understanding what was going on, and why people kept moving dada around so much, and why her mama was so upset.


The Doctor had already gone over the exam and the x-rays they'd taken of him. Coming out and looking around for his wife, seeing as one of the premdics had told him that his wife had road in with them. Going over to her when she asked him about how Mr. Fowl was doing. Thinking over how to tell her the bad news. "Mrs. Fowl...... your husband has been through a very bad accednt. The exam and the x-ray's that we've taken shows that he sustained two broken ribs, and a sprain to his left ankle. But those will heal given time. His condition right now, however is.... more serious. We believe that when he was thrown from the car he hit his head, somehow. And the en pack of the hit, caused him to go into a coma.--- I'm sorry."

"I don't need you to tell me we been through a very bad accident." Ruby said. "I'm more concerned how Nick is." Pausing for a moment to let him finish of what he he had to say. She wasn't going to ask any questions because she knew he wasn't going to die. "Can me and my daughter go see him?" Asking softly she wasn't married to him, but they didn't need to know that. "When will he wake up? And when he wakes up will he remember."

Bouncing Avery lightly. "Daddy is going to be okay." She whispered softly. "He's just got heal first. I bet once he sees his little princess with Ellie the elephant he will feel much better than he does now." Smiling down at her she needed to be happy her daughter didn't know what was going on.

The doctor didn't get upset when she interrupted him, by saying that she knew how bad it had been. And then began asking him questions. Seeing as it was always this way when he told people about someone they loved being hurt. "Yes, you and your daughter can go see him. And we'll have you go over the sheet of who and who isn't allowed in to see him later on so that we know. We---we're not sure when he'll wake up. It's always hard to tell in cases like this exactly when the person will wake up. It could only take a few days, or it may take longer.. it's hard to say right now. But we'll be sure to let you know as soon as something changes or he wakes up. We wont know until he wakes up, what he remembers and what he doesn't."



After the person had passed the door they had sunk out again and back into the hallway. Which had lead them to the end of it, and by that time they had thought they'd be home free to sneak in and get Will out before anyone noticed they were here at all. But it looked like things weren't going to work out that way after all. Raven thought as she started to jump out of the way and behind one of the walls while pulling Grace with her. But just as she had gone to do so, she heard someone yelling from the other hallway to find them. Which someone did just moments later. Cursing under her breath and preparing to fight, as they walked out from behind the wall.

Ruby nodded walking into his room sitting down. "Hi." She whispered softly. She kissed his forehead. "Avery give daddy a kiss." She said setting her down on the bed near Nick. Cutting her wrist hoping he would wake up for the blood, but nothing happened she quickly let it heal. "Nick please I need you to wake up. I'm sorry I got so upset." Taking a deep breath. "I don't see why you can't act like a vampire its not that bad. It hurts that you don't want to act like it because I made you into one and if you don't act like it then I feel like I made a mistake." She whispered. "I can't do this without you." She sighed it was no use he wasn't waking up.

Will was told to be on guard and on the look out for two intruders and that was what he did. Waiting for the two to come out behind the wall. He was ready to fight and kill them.

Nick could hear her, but no matter what he couldn't talk to her or even wake up. And it wasn't from lack of trying. He just couldn't do it for some reason. Wanting to reach out to her, and tell her that it wasn't her fault, that it wasn't anyone's fault that he was like he was. That she hadn't made a mistake in changing him. That he would be there for her and she wouldn't have to go through it all alone. But--- he couldn't. Feeling the bed go down slightly when she placed Avery on it.


Raven had been expecting one of the goons she knew this place had to have. She --- along with she could tell just by glancing at her face. Grace hadn't expected it either. It to be Will that was hunting for them. But then again maybe Grace- as much as it hurt to say. Could somehow talk him out of hurting them. She thought as they stepped out from behind the wall.

Ruby looked at her crying softly. "I understand that you wouldn't want to be one. You didn't even get a choice. Its like your letting that side of you be dismissed and I did that to you. I turned you into." Tears quickly went down her face. "You don't seem happy with this choice at all"

"Dada wake up. Dada" Avery crawled over looking down. "Ellie says wake up dada."

Hearing Avery said that broke her heart. "Baby girl daddy isn't going to wake up anytime soon." She whispered. Avery started bawling. She quickly grabbed her and started to bounce her and sooth her hair. "Shhhh Avery daddy's going to be fine though. Daddy's going to get better and then everything is going to be fine."

It broke Nick's heart to hear his daughter telling him to wake up and that Ellie said hi and still couldn't say anything. Only to hear her start crying when he didn't wake up. Feeling her weight be lifted off the bed so that Ruby could clam down there upset daughter. Trying to at least move a finger or something. But still not be able too.

"Dada wake up." She said crying. "Mama dada won't wake." Avery wasn't going to calm down.

Ruby could feel herself shut down. She knew she couldn't, but she couldn't handle this. "Shh we will see daddy in the morning." Getting up. Tears ran down her face. I can't handle this Being strong in her state of min was next to impossible for her to do.

Nick could hear how upset their daughter was because he wouldn't wake up. Then heard the crying. And that just about broke his heart. He should be there for them. Not just for their daughter but for his mate as well. Seeing as even though he was still out, he could tell how upset she was, by her feelings. And by their link to each other. Trying to get his finger to move just a little bit, and finally, was able to get it to move just an inch. It wasn't a lot he knew. But hopefully it would be enough to clam both their worries and fears.

"Avery we have to go home visiting hours are over." Ruby said looking down. She got up and starting to bounce her. "Shh baby girl."

"Dada we stay." Avery said through the tears.

"No sweetheart we're going home." Ruby said she wasn't sure if she could do this anymore. "Daddy needs his rest"This whole situation was killing her inside. Nick I don't know if I can be strong. I can't handle this.

Nick felt so bad, even though he knew that it wasn't his fault that they had been in the car crash. Seeing as the other driver had ran the light and hit them. Forcing his finger to move again, hoping that she'd see it. Or at least one of them would. And that would give them some hope. Hearing her in his head, thinking but not knowing if she would be able to hear his thoughts. 'It'll be okay..... you have to stay strong for her, tell her that we love her. And that dada will get better soon.'

Ruby knew that Nick would want her to stay strong for Avery, but she couldn't. Her emotions started to shut down to protect herself. That was what Ruby did when she couldn't handle something she shut everything off so she wouldn't get hurt anymore. She never worked through the problems she did have. "Say bad to daddy."

Avery had left Ellie the elephant near him. "Dada bye dada. Ellie stay."She whispered tiredly. Her arms clingged on to Ruby.

Ruby found a way home. She laid Avery in her crib and sat on the bed all night waiting for Nick to walk in to tell her it was going to be okay, but that wasn't going to happen.

Nick had finally woken up. At first he had thought that it was just someone coming in to check in on him again. Seeing as he didn't know the details of the whole thing, but from what he had over herd the doctors talking about. And what his doctor- Or who he assumed his doctor was- had told Ruby the update on how he was doing it hadn't sounded good. Or at least he thought it hadn't but then again, he hadn't really been paying that much mind to what was being said. Sense he had been trying so hard to wake up at the time. But then he had felt himself sneaking back into nothing. Then they had left an hour or so later. She had talked to him even though he hadn't been able to make out the words, but knew that she was talking to him and not to their daughter. And he had been able to hear Avery in the background. Talking to Ellie, and then encouraging him to wake up again like she had the first time they'd seen him. Which had been the night of the accented. But again he hadn't been able too. Although by the next morning, he had felt more like himself. More in control of his own body. The wake up had been slow. It hadn't happened right away like it did on tv. But by mid-morning. Or what he guessed to be mid-morning. Seeing as there was light coming in through the window. He had finally woken up. He had just been looking around the room trying to finger our where he was, even though he knew he was in the hospitable. It still took a while to sneak in that he was going to be okay and that he was okay. When the doctor had come in for what he had thought of as his usual morning 'check up'. And had almost squealed to a stop. He felt sure that he had heard the doctors shoes squeak on the floor when he had come to a stop. Then had come the questions. What did he remember, did he know his name, what year was it, did he know where he was, what was his birthday. And so on, then after the questions where over with. They had inspected him. Made sure everything was okay, even ran one more scan of his brain to make sure that it was all healed. It wasn't perfect yet, but it would get better with time. Once it was all over with, he had asked them to call his wife. Now he was waiting to hear back from them on rather or not Ruby had picked up and if she was on her way with Avery.

Ruby heard the phone rang, but didn't answer it. She heard Avery cry, but didn't go to her. It was like she couldn't function anymore. Nick was gone for now at least. The worse part is she wouldn't have the chance to even marry him and leagally become his wife. Of course the doctors didn't know that they weren't marry. She couldn't handle all of this. All she wanted was the pain to be gone. Last time she hurt this bad her ex left for the army and never came back until years later. Guys will only ever leave you and hurt you. Didn't you learn anything from Damon.

Avery wouldn't stop crying. "Shut up." She snapped. Ruby didn't care that she snapped at her daughter because she was losing herself in the pain. I'm pathetic I feel awful and I was happy. i was really happy. Now I'm back where Nick saved me from a couple years ago. Ruby knew what she was going to do she was going to become a wild person who partied all the time. A person who was cold and only cared for themselves. No matter how much she didn't want this it was how she knew how to cope.

Nick looked up when the doctor came in a bit later,to hopefully tell him that Ruby along with their daughter was on the way to get him or at least see him. Seeing as they hadn't actually said if they were releasing him to go home yet or not. But from how they had been talking, he was sure that they would be. "Where you able to get in touch with my wife? Does she know that I'm awake?" he asked not giving the doctor the chance to speak. "No, we've called the house. But no one picked up, and we don't have another number to try." He informed him. Which made him worried. What if something had happened to them while he'd been out? Yeah, they had come and saw him yesterday while he'd still been out. But something could of happened in that time. What if they had been killed? Or something even worse? "Can I try calling her? Maybe she was busy with our daughter and couldn't get to the phone..." At least that's what he hoped.

Ruby looked down felt her heart break. She heard her phone rang again. "What do you want?" She said coldly. "I don't want any of your products or whatever your trying to sell to me." Crying came from the back ground. "Shut up Avery daddy isn't coming home okay?! He's just like all the other guys in my life. They lie, leave, and break you." She didn't realize this was Nick. "Sorry about that now please tell me what you want or just stop calling here." If Nick found out what she was doing he would be ashamed of her. She couldn't be strong she just wanted everything to be normal again.

Nick hadn't really expected her to pick up the phone seeing as it had crossed his mind that she was for some reason trying to advode the phone. Sense she hadn't picked up when the doctors had called. Taking a moment to get over the shock of her being so---- grumpy, sounding. Okay maybe grumpy wasn't the best word but it was the only one he could think of, sense his mind was still tired and recovering. "Um.... Is everything okay? The doctor tried to call but got no answer. But I thought I'd try and see if you would." He said unsure on what else to say at the moment.

Ruby looked down. "It's you." She hissed. "Just stop it messing with me. Stop it. You hurt me and I'm done with you. I don't want you." It was obvious she wasn't in the right state of mind. "I can't do this"

"Strawberry.... Please." Maybe if he called her by her nickname she'd try an see reason seeing as it was clear to see that she wasn't herself. Nor was she in the right set of mind. What in the world had happened while he'd been out? He wondered, glancing over when the nurse started to come in. Holding up a hand for her to wait, just a minute so that she could tell him what was going on after he got off the phone.
