Nick let out a quiet breath. Thinking back to her 'I do, believe you when you say that..... I'm just not sure about me. If that makes any sense.' He thought as she went to start the car. "Okay, honey. Why don't we get home so that you can take a nap?" He asked Avery seeing as she even looked sleepy. She'd be out even before they got home he bet. He wasn't worried about disappointing her, he was worried about becoming his old self. He'd have to show her a mild part of what he had been like before they had moved and he had meet her. Then maybe she'd understand why he was so worried about becoming that person again.



Raven had brought Avery's things out when she had come back placing the bag where Ruby had sat so that Nick could take it on his way out.

Ruby shook her head knowing he was player and a heart breaker, but truthfully she didn't know much past that. She knew he slept with around and did things to other girls, but that was okay because that was before he moved here. 'Nick I know what you're feeling and in order to do that you will have to put me in one your memories of your one night stands. I will feel everything the girl you're doing feels and see what you were really like.' Ruby said bluntly as she got in the car. 'But I'm telling you no matter what you will be the man I love. Nothing can change that and I wish you would understand that.'

Avery was curled into her father tiredly. She was half asleep. "I don't like naps. I'm not tired." She said cranky. All little kids got this way when they were tired.

Nick shook his head picking Avery up so that they could head out and to the car. Picking up the bag all her things were in on the way out. "I know, but try to go to sleep." He told her not wanting her any more cranky then she already was. Saying a quick good-bye to Raven before walking out the door and hooking her up in her car seat.. and getting in the front seat with Ruby in the drivers side. Saying quietly "I know... I just thought it might help get a better understanding of why."

Ruby looked over at Nick. "I love you Nick, nothing will every change that." She whispered to him with a smile. "I'll let you do put me in your memories, but if you think your dark past is going to scare me away from you then your wrong." Ruby regretted not getting to his past, but he never really wanted to talk about it. When they arrived home she placed Avery in her room to lay down. She was sound asleep. "We have about a 1 and a half before Avery wakes up from her nap so let's get this done and over with it." She plopped down on their king size bed.

Nick had gone in carrying the bag in while Ruby had carried in Avery and took her to her room for her nap. Placing the bag with her things in it on their couch down stairs. Not wanting to risk setting it down in her room. Plus he could always bring it up later on. Then had gone and waited for her in their room a few doors down sitting down on the huge bed. And trying to decide what memory to show her. There was so many, and he didn't want to hurt her too badly. Looking up when she came in to join him and sat on the bed. Taking her hand, softly in his. Still deciding between the two that he'd picked out in his head. Saying softly deciding on the first one. "I really hope none of this, of what your going to see. Changes what you think or feel about me."

Ruby raised his eyebrows some. "Nick you're showing me one of your one night stands so I presuming that you were having sex with a girl and me feeling that won't change anything about you." Truthfully this had her a worried because what else did he do other than sex with them? But she shoved thought deep in her mind. "I'm ready." What didn't he tell her? She wondered waiting for him to do this, they had to be quick because after Avery woke up she had to get her lunch for her.

Nick nodded. It wasn't anything else that he did with them during the one night stands. Seeing as it hadn't been anything more then sex. It was the parties and things before the one night stands he was worried about. But nodded once more. Then closing his eyes and remembering a preticaril party he had gone to. It was about-- seven or eight years ago now. But it had been a wilder one then normal. Not that the normal ones weren't considered 'wild' but this one was just way out of hand. He'd been there with a couple of his fiends at the time from the football team. Letting her see all the drinking they'd done, some had even done drugs that night. The wild dancing and then him hitting on a girl that he'd found 'attractive ' while he'd been drunk. Skipping to an hour later into it and then showing her the make out and then how it had turned into a one night stand. It had been a mistake. Only did he find out in the morning along with a huge hangover that he'd slept with her. Luckily though nothing had come of it because he hadn't been drunk enough not to use protection. And then he had left before she had woken. Sneaking back home and into bed, so close to getting out of trouble and not getting caught. But-- he'd been caught. And he'd suffered big time for that one.

Ruby felt herself being dragged into this world of a party. She felt herself getting high on some drugs and then notice Nick coming up to her and being flirted with and then from there everything else was just a whirlwind of emotions. She could feel Nicks lips on hers then that led to more than kisses. Ruby felt the memory end, but she still felt the side effects of the memory lingering through her body. "Nick what did you want me to see?" She asked looking at him. "I saw nothing wrong with what you did so you partied a little bit." She felt herself kiss him on the lips. "I'm sorry, the memory has some side effects" she giggled.

Nick hadn't counted on it having side effects but this kind he didn't mind. Smiling at her when she told him that it was the side effects from the memory. "That I wasn't as good of a person back then then I am now. I used to go to all these party's, hook up with any girl , drink. I even did a couple of drugs when I was really drunk. Then I'd go home and get in trouble for it, because it's not like I really tired to hide it. Back then I didn't care, about anything besides football games and practice and the next party." He paused letting that sink in. "Back then I didn't care if I got in trouble for doing things I shouldn't. That's one of the reasons we moved I got into so much trouble they just finally had to kick me out of school. But when we moved here-- everything stopped. Because I meet you, and we got together. You make me a better person, make me want to be a better person."

Ruby looked at him and shrugged her shoulders. "Baby you were just like all the other guys at my school and all vampires .We tend not to care especially me. I hated humans and love. I mean the only reason I even started dating you was to make that cheerleader girl jealous.I honestly don't want to love you because love always ends up hurting. I actually don't hate love I fear love. But our first date I realized I had feelings for you so then I pushed you away. Then we went to the woods for like school or something and then I saw the arrow hit you. I felt my whole world crumble and I knew I had to save you. Sometimes I still push you away because I don't want to care. I don't want to have these feelings. I don't want to be in love with a wonderful person because I'm afraid. Really afraid that maybe you don't want me or this lifestyle. That maybe you will find someone else." High Ruby was open Ruby who didn't have a filter in her mind. "I guess we both saved each other."

Nick smiled when she told him the only reason she had agreed to go out with him in the first place was to make a cheerleader jealous. He liked it that they could talk about this so openly. Seeing as they never really had- not this openly at least-- before. Reaching out and playing with a strand of her hair. "That's one of the reasons I always try so hard to work things out between us.. because I don't want to loss you. Even when you try and push me away, I still try to find a way to make things work. Even when they seem impossible. I guess we did."

Ruby giggled some and looked up at him. "Damon faked his death to get out of our relationship. I found out about it a few weeks ago. It kinda of hurt consider I did give him part of me to save my family considering his is a more of a soul vampire than vampire that drinks blood." Ruby looked at him. "And the only way to get it back was if you like fight him in duel, but I haven't said this to you because if you lose you would die and I would be his mate. I don't think I was supposed to mention this because for a good reason." Ruby was rambling, but she was slowly loosing the side effects from the memory. "Because I knew you would die." She whispered softly. "Nick I hope I don't remember telling you this."

Nick couldn't belivie that the jerk had faked his own death. Sure it was common among vampires that had ties to the human world that they wished to cut. But Damon had none and he had simply done it to get out of the thing he had with Ruby more then 5 years ago now. And had taken part of her soul in order for her to save her family. He could understand her wanting to save her family seeing as no matter how much she disliked most of them she still loved her parents. Twirling the strand of hair he'd picked up. "Then if you don't want me to I won't fight him... it'll be okay."

Ruby looked up at him. "I thought I told you he faked his death last night, but maybe I'm mistaken because all I remember is dinner." Her eyes wandered. "The only reason you would lose is because you haven't let go, but it doesn't matter unless if he challenges you." Ruby rested against his chest. "You always smell so good."




Will looked down feel bad for lying. He could still feel the pain, but he made sure that Grace couldn't feel it. Taking a deep breath he needed morphine, maybe Raven could help, but that meant explaining things. He started to stumble towards Raven's house.

"No, you didn't tell me that last night... I highly doubt he would." He assured her, holding her as she rested against his chest. Running his hand down her back to comfort her, then going back to play with the ends of her hair. Giving a soft little chuckle, when she said that he always smelled so good. "Oh yeah? What do I smell like?"



Grace had begun looking for hex bags as soon as she had recovered from the pain to move. And so far she hadn't found any. But that didn't mean that there weren't any.



Raven had started cleaning up a little bit around the house, seeing as they had caused a little bit of a mess last night and this morning while Avery had still been around. Letting out a sigh. Digging out her phone to check for any messages.

"You smell like Nick." She whispered softly. "Its hard to explain." Curling into him a little bit she let off a sigh. "I think he would Damon is a very possessive person. He likes getting what he wants and no isn't in his vocabulary." She grabbed his free hand and intertwined their fingers. "Nick, I wasn't supposed to let you know all of those things, but I did and I don't think I will be very happy with myself after the effects of the memory disappear."

Will stumbled to Raven's front step and rang the door bell. "Raven I need some morphine." He knew morphine wouldn't be a good solution to this, but until he found a way to tell Grace it would have to do.

Nick laid them down when she intertwined their fingers. But still kept his other hand on her back as they did. "It'll be okay, you might not be happy with yourself once it does but at least I know. And if he does, because 'no' isn't in his vocabulary then I'll find a way to get threw it." He told her not wanting her to worry, even though she didn't seem too worried at the moment but knew it was because of the memory side effects.


Raven went to the door finding Will on the other side just about passed out. Getting him inside of the house, and onto the coach. Going and digging out some of the morphine that she had but she wouldn't give him a high dose. Hooking it up to him, "I'm not giving you a high dose, but it'll be enough to help. So, what happened?"

Ruby nodded her head as her eyes closed softly. Her breathing was steady as her she was sleeping. About a half an hour later her eyes snapped opened her faced paled. She told Nick things that she never wanted to tell him. "I should get Avery's lunch started before she wakes up." Ruby acted as a well oil machine at times.



Will hissed at her. "I don't know." He snapped. "All I know is that my life is going to be ruined because of this." He shook his head some and looked down. "I don't want this. I never wanted to be hybrid and its not your fault."

Nick hadn't fallen asleep with her, but had stayed awake and watched over her and watched as she slept. So he didn't miss when he eyes snapped open and she acted like-- well Ruby. Not the High Ruby she'd been before she'd fallen asleep. Guess the effects had warn off. Letting her up, so that she could leave and get Avery's lunch started. Thinking that she would start pushing him away for a while, seeing as none of that she had meant to tell him he could tell.


Raven found it hard to believe that he didn't blame her for it. Normally he did when this kind of thing happened to him, but he didn't. At least not yet. Sitting down across from him and studying him. "Do you know what it is?"

Ruby was extremely quiet not speaking or do anything that would cause interaction with Nick. Maybe she could erase his memory of that conversation then maybe things would okay. She started to cut the crusts off of her daughter's ham sandwich. Adding some goldfish and strawberries to the place topping it off with some punch after that she sat it on the table and looked at Nick. "Can you go wake up our daughter? Unless if she is already awake playing with Ellie." Ruby said coldly.


"Raven your smart enough to know what is happening." Will growled at her. The pain started dwindle away.

"I'll go wake her up, I heard her while I was coming down." He told her softly getting up from the table to go up and wake their daughter. Opening the door to her room, once he was up there and going in. "Sweetie, time to wake up.."


Will was right. She was smart enough to know what this was. So why even pretend to play like she didn't know? "When did it start happening? Have you told Grace about it yet?"

Avery rolled over tiredly. "Daddy, I'm hungry." She whispered groggily her body was use to a schedule that her parents got her on. "Ellie says she's hungry too. Do you think mommy will put out her peanuts for her?"



"A couple months ago and no I haven't told Grace and I won't until I have too tell her." Will said softly looking down.

"I know kitten, Mommy has lunch ready for you downstairs. I'm sure she'll put out some peanuts for Eilie too once we get down there." He told her softly walking over to the bed and kneeling down beside it so that she could wake up.




Raven felt a corner of her mouth go up in part worry and part consurn. She hadn't had anything for Will in years and she still didn't. She was commented to Derek, if only he'd be willing to see that. But she still worried for Will seeing as they did work together. "Maybe you should tell her.... I know you don't want to, but it might help her understand."

Avery nodded and rubbed her tired eyes and grabbed Ellie. She sat up tiredly. "Okay daddy." Avery whispered it always took her some time to wake up. She put her arms up waiting for her dad to pick her up. "Is Daddy hungry too?" She asked.

"Tell her what? Oh in a few days there might be a great chance that I won't feel the same way about you? That we can't follow through with our plans because I won't be a werewolf any more?"

Nick picked her up and started down stairs with her once she had gotten Elie. "A little bit, Daddy might have a sandwich while you have lunch." he told her reaching the bottom of the stairs and then walking into the kitchen.


"No. Tell her, that your body is at war with it's self. That your two sides are competing against what one you will become for a while... look, Grace loves you. She'd do anything for you, if she thought it would help you in any way. Plus she'll understand."

Avery curled into Nick. "Okay daddy." She smiled softly. "You can sit right next to Ellie and mommy can sit right next to you." Avery giggled happily.

Ruby was nervous as she paced back and forth she felt a familiar set of eyes on her, but she couldn't pin point it. She just shrugged it off as being paranoid.


Will shook his head. "Its my choice to tell her. I don't want to tell her. I don't even know why I always turn to you in the first place. Your the reason this is happening." He snapped. "I'm going." He pulled the iv out of his arm walked out of the door.

Nick smiled and carried her to the table. And sitting her down in the spot her lunch was at. "Okay, sweetie.." Going and making himself a sandwich, looking up at Ruby as she started pacing. "Something wrong?"



Raven watched as he went, she'd never say it. But maybe he came to her first for advice because in some way her thoughts and opinions counted. For what? She didn't know and she didn't think he did either. But utuamly the chose was his.



Grace hadn't found any hex bags. And she'd gone over the whole house and her car. And still nothing. Wondering now if Will had lied to her. Going in and taking out the mac and cheese that she'd had on all day.

Ruby shook her head. "No nothing is wrong." She heard a loud crash and a scream. Her faced paled as she dropped the glass she had in her hand. She knew that scream, she also knew the scent that was in the air. Someone took Avery and she couldn't force herself to move from her position.

Will swore as he walked to Grace's apartment. He took a deep breath he was going to call things off with her. That's the only way she would be safe.

Nick hadn't felt anything- or anyone watching them when he had returned with Avery and put her down so that she could eat her lunch. Whipping around and charging out the door when he heard the scream and didn't see Avery where he had left her. Wondering who was dumb enough- and fast enough. To get into their house and kidnap their daughter without expecting him to come after them.



Grace had started making salad, she knew it wasn't Will's favorite thing to eat but at least it would be healthy with all the other things. Glancing at the clock, on the wall he should be home soon. If he hadn't already decided to not come home for dinner like he was so fond of doing lately. Even though he had promised he would be tonight.

Ruby looked down and walked out the door. She knew who took it and she knew what it meant, but not telling Nick was the best thing for him. She couldn't lose Nick and she hope he didn't sense her leaving , but she knew he would. Something inside made her queasy as she felt her body collapsed. Waves of pain hit her, she could feel another presence come in her mind.

Will walked slowly he quickly slipped a note under the door stating that he was breaking up with her, it wasn't that easy though. If Grace got really upset her wolf would chase him and then his wolf would come out and that is what he wanted.

Grace frowned as she finished cutting up everything for the salads and heard something being shoved under the door. Setting the knife aside that she'd been using on the counter and walking to the door. Finding a slip of paper that hadn't been there the last time she checked. Picking it up and un folding it finding a note. Scanning over it quickly. No.... what had happened?? What had she done to make him not want her anymore? Was it the fact that she had gone in his brief case to find out if he'd been cheating on her, WAS he cheating on her and that's why he had decided to break things off with her? So that he could be with someone else regardless of the fact that they were mates. Life mates? She had no idea what she'd done to bring this on, and he didn't give an excuse as to why he was doing it. But, wait. If he'd just dropped it off a moment ago because now she was able to smell a faint hint of him from the hallway but knew that he wasn't out there. The smell wasn't powerful enough for that. She thought opening the door and walking out. She had to find him, get him to explain why he was doing this. Why he had called it off between them like this. She thought feeling her wolf becoming more and more upset.

Will kept walking faster he hoped this work. If it didn't then he would be lonely. But right now maybe that was for the best, because the only reason he ever eneded up with Grace was because his wolf was brought out by her and deep down inside he had a feeling he might not love Grace the way he did now.

Grace fallowed his sent. He was moving fast but that was okay, she was able to move fast too. And she wasn't willing to let her mate get away. At least not without explaining all of this to her. If he still wanted to leave, after he had explained things to her, and he truly didn't want to be with her then-- well. She'd find her own way. Yes it would hurt like hell to loose him, to another. If that was the case but at least he'd be happy. She thought, to herself. But then felt a growl work it's way up her chest and out of her mouth. Her wolf didn't like even the thought of that, that he might be falling for another. No, it didn't like that thought at all. Not that she much cared for it either though.

Ruby walked to the door and notice it was Rose. "I came here to tell you something"

"What?" Ruby asked.

"They are talking about giving the crown to me and Jake as well as shunning you because of Nick. His emotions are making you less of a vampire." Rose said looking at her smiling. "You're as bad as he is your not a vampire." She walked away.

Ruby looked at Rose an anger rumbled in her. She was angry at Nick more than anything. Avery was missing and Damon was the one who took her. This was all she knew this life royalty. "Nick can we talk for a moment?"

Nick had been able to track down Damon when he had run out of the door with Avery. But he had knocked her out and had only told him that if he agreed to fight him then he'd return their daughter. But it would happen at Nightfall and to come alone. If he saw or sensed Ruby in anyways... he'd kill their daughter. No questions asked. And then had forced him to go home and to not return until nightfall. Hearing the door open and a couple words being exchanged with whoever it was at the door with Ruby. Then heard the door shut and Ruby asking to talk to him. Walking into the hallway. "Yeah, what you wanna talk about?"

Ruby looked at Nick taking a deep breath. She was angry and furious. Her hands wrapped around his throat. Vampires were selfish creatures. "Because of you I'm losing everything. Because of your stupid human emotions get in a way of everything." Her hands wrapped his neck tighter. "I'm losing my title and I'm getting shunned because of you. I'm a real vampire. I'm a real vampire."Ruby pulled away looking down this was Ruby before Nick. Backing she ran towards the door and ran to the falls.

The falls was the place where Damon and Ruby had their first date. "Damon come out I know you're here with my daughter." She snapped blocking out any emotions of Nicks that would get in her way. "I'm not afraid to kill you"

Damon had taken Avery to the falls, as a sort of-- reminder. More to himself then to the girl though. Seeing as she wouldn't know anything of the place and how him and her mother had come here on their first date before Nick had come along. Smiling as he heard her calling for him to come out, the girl was still passed out. Seeing as he had knocked her out with acid. It wouldn't hurt her due to her vampire genies but it would keep her under until it was time for him to give her back. Walking out from where he'd been to face Ruby. Giving a bright smile to her. "Ah, how nice of you to come join me.. I was wondering how long it would take you to change your mind."

Ruby looked at Damon. "I just want my daughter back." Ruby glanced over him. "I don't want you. I just want my daughter back." Repating him in stern voice. Ruby wanted Nick, but Damon was doing something to her he could make her do anything with having part of her soul. "Stop it Damon I want you........" She walked closer to him. "What are you doing to me."

Damon gave her a smirk, they both knew that he held a part of her soul. He wasn't like her, he didn't need blood to live off of. He took his energy form souls. Souls of people he passed on the street, people he had lunch with. Every day people. And no one knew seeing as all he had to do was simply touch them and he gained the energy he needed to live off of. Looking her up and down as she came closer to him, feeling a smile spread across his face. "Whatever do you mean? I'm not doing anything to you, dear."

"Yes you are." Ruby was trying to resist moving forward. "I have Nick he loves me and I love him so very much. Despite the fact that I almost choked him because I'm losing everything because he's different and that's not his fault." Moving closer to Damon felt easy and effortless. "What you are doing isn't real making me feel something for you isn't the way to go. He'll come for me." Her voiced paused as she reached him being so near to his face. "Damon don't stop." She stammered in a shaky breath. Nick was becoming distant memory.

Damon knew how to pull her in the right direction. How to get her to agree with him. Listening as she talked about how Nick loved her and she loved him despite the fact that she was losing everything. Looking down at her when she stood right in front of him. Giving a charming smile as he reached up and ran a finger down her face to her chin. "Are you sure it's not real?
