Audible App Issues
Thanks for the info, unfortunately I looked through all of my books and it's not in my app. (In my web library it is a few pages back).
I've been having an issue lately where books just stop playing, seemingly at random, requiring me to re-start them. Fortunately, they resume exactly where they'd abruptly quit.
John wrote: "I've been having an issue lately where books just stop playing, seemingly at random, requiring me to re-start them. Fortunately, they resume exactly where they'd abruptly quit."That's happened to me as well. Not very often, but definitely happened.
Only once. I thought I may had something to do with a not to smooth download, I downloaded the file again in the hightest quality and it played without stopping. But I have no idea if this worked or the stopping was just a random error.
John - that happens to me too. Only my books don't usually start where I left off, they usually go back to the start of the chapter...
I have issues with my bluetooth earbuds if I play the books at more than the normal speed. There are random cuts which do not happen when played at 1X. I don't know why yet but it's quite annoying since the time I gain with the increased speed is lost when going back.
Is anyone else experiencing problems with downloading new purchases? I've noticed this for the past week. (I have hundreds of books, so I'm well experienced with the Audible App). I've turned off my phone a few times and even hit refresh several times. But books I've purchased over the past few days are not in the app so I cannot listen to them. Any suggestions?
My ios app works fine but occasionally books don't show up on my kindle fire app. The audible help desk was no help to me.
I've had this problem periodically on my iPhone 6 but closing and restarting the app usually fixes it. Several months ago I couldn't get it to work but Audible was able to help - they had me download the newest version of the App which fixed it.

A few times when I first purchase a book in there it doesn't show up on my library list.
I just type the title into the search then it shows up. Not quite sure why it does that but maybe that will be an easy fix for you.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions! I went to the iPhone App Store last night to make sure I had the latest version and I do.
I'll call customer service when I get home and can access my account online without my phone. I'll report back if I find out what's wrong.

Hi Lilmissmolly, this is Audible Social Support. We are sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing! I see you mentioned you plan on calling us when you get a chance, but if you need any further assistance, shoot us an email to social-support@audible.com including details like the missing audiobooks and the device you are using and we can also look into this for you.
Have a great night!
Lilmissmolly, this happens to me almost every single purchase (using the IOS app). Sadly there's been some annoying bugs for about a year now. I've actually turned off auto updates because I've had some broken audible upgrades (now I wait until the version has been out for a while before doing an update). Anyways, to get around this issue, I go to more--settings--refresh library (more is one of the tabs at the bottom next to "me"). This works every time getting my new purchases. Its annoying that they don't auto show up, but at least doing this, I can get my purchases.
David S. T. wrote: "to get around this issue, I go to more--settings--refresh library (more is one of the tabs at the bottom next to "me")"David - You're a genius! It worked the first time I tried it your way. You should work for Audible Social Support. ;p Thank you very much!!!!
I wonder if anyone else is experiencing problem with a requirement to rate and review audiobooks when they finish? The book ends, and a banner comes up asking for the book to be rated and reviewed. The problem is that it seems to be impossible to just dismiss the banner; I can't find an "x" to delete it or an option to do anything else. The reason that is a problem is that you can't do anything else with the app e.g. start a new book. One can see the controls darkened out behind the banner, but they're unresponsive. This has happened to me twice in the middle of the night when all I wanted to do was start another book. I certainly did not want to rate or review the book, and in fact I doubt I ever will. If there really is no way to get rid of the banner without doing so then I think it is disgraceful.
In the end I deleted the app entirely and then reinstalled it -- each time. Needless to say I do not want to have to do that every time I finish an audiobook!
How do I get rid of the read and review banner? I'm using the app on an iPad.
I get that, or something similar, too. Hitting the "back" arrow on the app has returned me to the book as usual. It's the glitch where a book will randomly stop playing that bothers me.
I had to delete and reinstall the audible app yesterday after it froze mix book and refused to move out of the book, backwards, forwards or to play it. I also do not want to have to resort to that

Where is the back arrow? -- I can't see it!
The Audible App often stops playing in the middle of a book. It usually remembers where it left off but not always. It's especially annoying at night when I have to reset the sleep timer repeatedly.I know others mentioned this issue but I just started having big issues with it this week; I'm using an iPhone 6 and wondering whether the problem was made worse by the rollout of the Clips feature.
I've had problems ever since the clip feature was introduced. If I'm driving around and then take a break, but don't save my location (via the clip), it usually goes back to the clip I last saved instead of my last listened to location. It's very frustrating! (I have an iPhone 6 also). So, I've been catching up on some library audios via Overdrive because I gotten so frustrated with Audible not performing as it once did.

We put out a second update since Clips was released that should have fixed this issue. Please go to More>Settings>Scroll to bottom of page to make sure you are running version 2.10.1. If you are not, please go to the App Store and update the app. If you are running that version but are still experiencing this issue, please send us an email to social-support@audible.com so we can further assist.
Audible.com wrote: "Please go to More>Settings>Scroll to bottom of page to make sure you are running version 2.10.1"Thanks, I'll go check it out to make sure I have the latest and greatest Audible version.

I'm not sure but I think they replaced bookmarks with the Clip thing .

I'm going to set aside the Audible App for iPhone 6 until they can fix the random crashes problem. I've tried force closing the app and restarting my phone and although I thought it helped a little at first, the app has crashed 3 times so far today; Audible Support also suggested deleting and reinstalling the app (which requires deleting and re-downloading books on my device) but it strikes me as a last ditch effort that isn't likely to help or to only help temporarily so I'm not bothering. I just downloaded/synced the book via iTunes and will finish listening in the Bookmobile App.
HJ wrote: "I wonder if anyone else is experiencing problem with a requirement to rate and review audiobooks when they finish? It's still an issue, and there is no back arrow visible which I can use as John suggested.
Donna - I had to delete and reinstall (which I was extremely reluctant to do) and the app has not crashed at all since...Mine was in an almost constant state of crash though. I couldn't get past the orange audible logo page for a few days.
All my stats were retained. But I did have to re-Mark finished books as finished. And, of course, I had to re-download and find my place in the books I was listening to..
Kimberly, glad deleting the App helped; I also had a problem a few days ago where I couldn't get any book to play - rebooting my phone finally fixed it. I'd be interested to hear whether the App stays fixed for you as it seems like these problems were progressive for me, getting worse over time.
I have the feeling it's not so much the app version (I'm still on iOS 7 iPhone 4) but after a while rebooting helps.Sometimes I'm going weeks with no problems and sometimes it takes longer and longer to open with 1 or 2 crashes before working again.
Hi I am running the app on a iphone 6 IOS 9 it randomly stops playing the book I am listening to. I have to go back into the app and select the book again to start it.
Michael,I've noticed this can happen if you have another app running which uses audio. The audible app will play the book just fine, until the other app accesses the audio output - even if it doesn't transmit anything! The audible app then stops playing.
Try removing all other running apps and see if that makes a difference.

Cheers for that I will give it a go
Dear Audible,Now that you have launched Channels (which only works on iOS and Android, not on PC/Mac), could someone divert some programming time to the Audible Manager and Download Manager? These really need some work and some useful features.
I've just been trying to download to my PC some of the books I've bought recently, and the Download Manager keeps locking up, spending endless time 'cleaning up the interface (or similar)'. It shouldn't take more than an hour to download 8 books.
And Audible Manager would be so much more functional if you could search the list of your books by title or author. Or if it didn't re-set the download date of all of your books every time you have to re-install Audible Manager (for any number of reasons). I have multiple versions of some of my audiobooks, and it used to be helpful to be able to look for the version I bought in 2012, or 2014.
It would even be nice not to have to decline to download new components EVERY single time I open Audible Manager, only to have it tell me that there hasn't been a new update.

Hi CatBookMom, we are very sorry for the negative experience. We have submitted this feedback to our team on your behalf.
Thank you for your detailed feedback! Take care and have a nice day!
Audible,I sent a note to social-support on March 31 regarding my inability to see my library in Chrome and have received no reply. Not even an acknowledgement of receipt.
I also found out that I cannot complete an order in Chrome. I have to use Explorer which is not my preferred or default browser.

Hi Grumpus so sorry to hear this! We just checked back and did not see your email in the queue. Can you please send another email to social-support@audible.com.
If you already tried any trouble shooting steps, could you provide them in the email in order for us to best assist you?
Thank you, and we look forward to hearing back from you!
I just resent it. It is not coming from Grumpus, but rather my work email. Previous email was sent Thursday, March 31, 2016 7:33 AM if that helps locate it.

Just bought a new phone so had to put a back up from the old one back + update the new device.NO issues with the Audible app, yay! It put back my listening time and badges flawless, and after redownloading my books went to the right bookmark.
I'm happy.
Hi all, I have a question about trying to listen to my audible purchase on a different application on my devices. Is there somewhere I can post this question that is more logical than here?I downloaded my first audible book, but I wanted to listed to it on my Smart Audiobook Player app on my phone. The phone only seems to recognise .mp3 and the book is an .aax file, so its not working. Any help or guidance on this would be much appreciated.
I know this has been an issue for others before but I don't remember the solution. I purchased a book last week--a whispersync discounted purchase if that matters. I can get the audio on my kindle but the book is not showing up in the audible app on my phone. I've tried everything from rebooting my phone to uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I made the purchase last week and it still is not showing up. Any suggestions?

I thought I had run into the same problem with Locke and Key, but I found that it was in my library, but not as the most recent entry.
It seemed to show up in the list based on when I preordered it, not when it became available. I had bought a few more audiobooks in the meantime, so it was not at the top of the list. Searching for it revealed it was there in the list, though.
I just mention this in case you have the same problem.
