What are you watching on TV?

For some reason, I picture (view spoiler)

Jer's first thought was Brendan Gleeson, but I picture Wednesday more wiry. Then we were thinking John Hurt. James Cromwell popped into my head.
It'll probably be someone not too famous, I think.
And I was thinking Lance Reddick for Anansi, though I'm not sure he's old enough. But he's wonderful.

Ooh. That would be an interestingly sinister choice.

I'd love to see Mads Mikkelsen as Wednesday."
I would say Sean Connery for Wednesday, but he's retired.
How about Malcolm McDowell or Donald Sutherland, (view spoiler) And they're both the age I pictured, though I personally envisioned him as big and rangy. Liam Neeson's build, like.
It is ok to post shows that originally aired on TV here, isn't it?
I'm watching The Cosby Show right now, starting with the first season.

I expected such comments :-).

Same here. I stopped watching though once the relationships started getting way too messy. I hate when shows resort to everyone sleeping with each other. Plus, Meredith got way too emo for me.

I was going to watch season 10 but the news of yet another change (view spoiler) made me change my mind. Then I learned that there was an even more significant change (view spoiler) and I was glad I stopped when I did.

Yeah, brace yourself. It gets worse. LOL

I'm also disappointed in Rip, because he played Rory in Doctor Who and I loved Rory and I know he can be better, but he seems so cheesy in Legends.
I love Snart (sp?), though.

bwahahahaha

In the cases of convoluted tumors, your changes of survival are actually equal to the inverse tangent of the number of significant looks passed between your surgeon and someone in the gallery divided by the square root of pi multiplied by the sum from {i = 0} to {1 = a} (where a is equal to the number of couples who have slept together in the room) of [a * (a+1)] / 2 minus the number of times (factorial) the surgery has been performed before.
Pretty simple.

I just watched the German free tv premiere of the fifth season of Game of Thrones. And yes, I already know which characters are going to die this times. I never had a problem with spoilers, they don't spoil the experience for me.
By the way: I started watching at a random point and the first thing I saw was someone getting his head chopped off. That's sooooo typical for GoT :-).

But about a week or so ago we binged the new X-Files series.
I was a little nervous going in. X-Files was my thing, back in the day. My first official fandom - if fandom is defined as a geeky thing you share with others. I used to go over to a girlfriend's house and a bunch of us would watch it and talk about it afterwards. It was a way better to spend a Friday night than going to some "party" in the woods, no matter what the other kids in high school said. ;)
Anyway -
As we started the first episode I was transported with glee when the opening credits started. I was surprised, yet pleased, that they stuck with the original credits and didn't update them.
The first episode was a bit overly expositiony, but I figured they had a lot to cram into 6 episodes, so I was willing to let it go.
But I was still a bit worried 'cause I heard some negative things about the series - specifically the episode with the "stupid looking plastic green monster" - which was, btw, hands down the funniest, if not the best, episode of the little mini series. I was in stitches.
Luckily I also knew about the non-ending thing, else I would be all "WTF?!" I wasn't aware this had the potential to be an on-going thing originally, but I'm certainly on board for it.

As a side note, I asked Jer what he thought of it, since I admit to viewing it through Nostalgia Glasses. Jer never really watched it much, originally, so had no such barrier... But he thought the eps were decent, and also loved the were-monster ep the best.

@_@"
Hooray!
We disconnected our cable a few years ago. We have a TV for watching kids DVDs and we occassionally watch Netflix now, but I can go weeks without watching anything now.

NO ending? hmmmm
I'm still thinking about watching it. I was a big X-Files person back in the day.

I moved to Florida four years ago, and had to decide, waste money on cable TV and a TV set or just make more time to read my kindle. No competition.
I figure you can get just about anything you want or need thru Netflix, and you know, I canceled it after a month or two and haven't missed it. (And there's always my Amazon Prime.)

I'm watching the first 16 seasons of The Simpsons right now.

Terry Pratchett left a letter posthumously for Neil Gaiman, requesting that the author write an adaptation of their novel Good Omens by himself, with his blessing. Gaiman's reaction? “I think I said, ‘You bastard, yes.'"

But since it's just the pilot and they're doing set-up and it really just got going towards the end, I'm willing to give it a few more episodes to get running.

But I wish they would lay off on the CGI heavy bits with the "slow-mo Flash stuff", because the CGI is *so* bad.

I'm starting to get excited for American Gods. Didn't think it was going to happen at all.
