I'm not going to make my goal, so I'd like to change it from a goal of 5 to 3 instead, then I only have 1 book to read. I'm under Sarah Lou. Thanks.
I've been a slacker on this challenge ... this is what I've read so far.
I don't think I'm going to make my goal of 12! I've already read a lot on the list.

[bookcover:The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America|21..."What did you think of "1984"? I finally read it last year, and that after many years of procrastination. I don't know, I think I was intimidated by this novel. The renown of the book among cultivated and politicalized people probably made me think it would be really difficult to read. However, it's quite an easy read. I mean, there's a lot of thinking to do, but the writing isn't pompous.
8/81. Catch-22
2. The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie
3. The Name of the Wind
4. The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America
5. The Shadow of the Torturer

7. Never Let Me Go
8. Half a King
❀ 10/10 ❀ message 398 ❀And I'm DONE! I've read A Game of Thrones, Wonder, The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Kite Runner.
It was an amazing challenge, I'll be definitely participating next year. Good luck everybody :)
Cassandra wrote: "What did you think of Divergent, Deborah?"It was alright. I'm partial to The Hunger Games trilogy, but I see why this is popular as well. Very happy to see more strong heroines in YA.
Congratulations Karina and Meimei.@Cassandra- I actually just read Divergent for the second time. It's really good. It's only the end I have trouble with liking. Her romantic relationship was very nice - he was respectful towards although he is in a higher position so you may or may not like those implications.
Just completed my 12th selection - Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia. Let's talk about the good things with this book first: I appreciated the interesting world that the author created, I enjoyed the diverse characters, and as a southern woman I appreciated her portrayal of the crazy south. Other than that, the book fell flat for me and felt like it was a witch version of Twilight. There was so much teen angst and drama it made my head hurt! Entire pages of conversation were repeated throughout the book as the 16 yo characters declared their undying love for each other. Not an awful read but I'm not going to read the next book. 2.5 stars12/10
