I finished book 1 on the plane ride here last Sunday but I will post what I remember thinking while reading.

Epilogue - (view spoiler)[ The rescue seemed too good to be true to me and I was right! Of course it ends with a cliff hanger for book 2! But it will get interesting. I am curious to find out what wicked has in store for them. Who is group B, where were they tested, how will they come in the game, will they become allies or enemies and will the boys find out that it is all part of an experiment and they are not secure. Finished The Maze Runner (view spoiler)[Sad bout Chuck. And if they are supposed to be the next Einsteins, Darwins, and Edisons of the age then why not give them a puzzle meant for that mindset. A survival mind and a scientific or theorist mind are not the same thing in how things are mentally processed. Also, if they were so smart, why did it take until Thomas to get any answers. If something doesn't work, try another way! Also if they are nicknamed after the greatest minds,then who is Teresa?! I wonder is she is something else... I've already read the Maze Runner but is anyone finding It feels like a guys book? Maybe It's just because there is no female characters?

I don't typically gender sort books. But I do think this is can be more appealing for male readers than most YA novels, being this does not have the over-the-top romantic relations that so many have nowadays. Guess that is large in part to this being a male author. I actually find the pace with lack of romance and high action refreshing for a change.

Me too! I really enjoy some romance sometimes like in The Infernal Devices but here it's just fine without all the romance stuff and I think boys could like the action and maybe the fights and the way minho and newt lead the others
