I would be interested in reading this book but it would need to be March at the earliest. Would that work for you Annika or did you want it earlier?

Hi Zara,
That's fine, I've got a ton of books to read anyway. We could read in December even, I don't mind. :)

Sorry Lynn. I obviously transposed the name of the book for your name. lol

OK I'll mark it down for February.

message 129: by Ian (new)

Ian Would anyone be interested in doing a Buddy read for 1Q84? I've had it on my shelf to read for 2 years and keep avoiding it! So some encouragement and others to discuss it with would be appreciated! I don't mind when we read....

Also I have the edition that contains books 1 and 2. Some editions have all 3 books, but they are also all published individually! This could make things complicated. So I am happy to go with the flow and just read book 1 or all 3 depending on what others want to do....?

Zara's Retreat | 2365 comments Hi Ian, I would be interested in trying to read this book again as a buddy read. I tried it last month but I ran out of time. If we could do it over a two month period that would be great. How about May & June?

message 132: by Ian (new)

Ian Yeah that sounds good :). What edition do you have?

message 133: by Zara's Retreat (new)

Zara's Retreat | 2365 comments Ian wrote: "Yeah that sounds good :). What edition do you have?"

The one from my library. I don't have it handy at the moment. I'm thinking of buying a copy of my own though.

message 134: by Ian (new)

Ian Ok no worries. I need to get a hold of book 3. So i'll have it by then in case we read all 3.

The one I get from the library has all three books in it. I'm actually looking at buying a copy. I really would like a copy of my own. So hopefully I'll have a copy of my own by then as well.

message 136: by Zara's Retreat (new)

Zara's Retreat | 2365 comments I've added it to the list now Ian, for May and June.

message 138: by Jodi (new)

Jodi (readinbooks) | 1971 comments A few of us were talking about A Feast for Crows for February and March. Anyone reading the Game of Thrones series knows that these books take time!

Zara's Retreat | 2365 comments Anyone interested in doing a buddy read with me in August and/or September on the book The Slap by Christos Tsiolkas?

message 142: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire6452) | 718 comments That looks really interesting, Zara! I'd be in for that one.

message 143: by Zara's Retreat (new)

Zara's Retreat | 2365 comments Claire wrote: "That looks really interesting, Zara! I'd be in for that one."

Excellent Claire. I'm aware that it has caused some mixed feelings among readers and is therefore very controversial but that's OK. I'll mark for both August and September and if we don't take the two months to read that'll be good.

Theresa~OctoberLace (octoberlace) | 773 comments 1Q84 is on my TBR list for 2014. I have the full Audiobook that includes all 3 sections. It runs 46 hrs 50 min. I can join a May/June read for that one.

Theresa~OctoberLace (octoberlace) | 773 comments I think we'd discussed doing Middlemarch as a Buddy Read last year, but it never really happened. I doubt it will be chosen for the March Group Read (lots of interest there in The Time Traveler's Wife, which I've already read), so can we set it up as a March/April Buddy Read here? Kelsi said she was interested, too.

Done for March/April Theresa.

Theresa~OctoberLace (octoberlace) | 773 comments Thanks, Zara. I'll certainly fit Middlemarch in this March!
