Sofia smiled up at him. "That sounds like a great plan." She said happily and winked at him, holding her hand out to him so he could help her sit up. "I was thinking spaghetti. Is that alright with you?" She asked, smoothing out her hair and her now wrinkled shirt.

"Well good." Grace said and laughed, gasping a little when she was pulle into his lap as he brought her closer to his chest. She blushed, her eyes getting caught in his before she could look away. She smiled shyly and leaned in for another kiss, this one gentler but deeper. "I love you, Wyatt." She whispered, her heart hammering in her chest as she said the words for the first time. "I can't remember a time when I didn't love you."
Brody shook his head, not believing that it was his fault she was with Alan. He had done everything he could to get her to leave him, but she had never listened to him. He gave Joelle a gentle smile, taking her hand carefully in his. "I'm not going anywhere." He promised, letting go of her hand to move away and let her parents in. He sat in the chair, watching the exchange quietly with a wary expression.
Jake smiled and nodded and got out of bed and helped her up with a chuckle," How are you going to get out of bed without me?" He teased softly kissing her cheek. "Sounds like a good dinner to me." He replied making sure she was alright before going in search of where they put the candles the last time. "Sof where did you hide the candles?" He called
Wyatt laughed softly and hugged her close as he looked down at her knowing that this was exactly where he wanted to be for as long as he could be with her. He smiled a little bit as he kissed her deeply then pulled away slightly so he could see her again. "I love you too Gracie." He said softly kissing her again after her confession. "I actually think I always have." He stated softly resting his head against hers
Joelle nodded a little bit and closed her eyes and her parents crowded around her bed talking to her with soft voices telling her different things like they would get her a better doctor and that se should move back into their house with them. After a little while a nurse came in," I'm sorry but visiting hours are over." She said making sure that everything hooked up to Joelle was working properly and that Joelle was comfortable. As her parents walked out the door Joelle looked over at Brody and reached her hand out to him a little
Sofia laughed softly. "I'll just have to roll myself to the side of the bed, I guess." She admitted and laughed again. She thought about it 'it actually sure where she had put them last time. "Ummm check in the cupboard over the sink!" She called to him. "If they're not there, they might be in the closet where the towels are." She added, stretching again and giving a sigh before heading out to the kitchen. Having to get out of bed was Always hard for her, since she now has so much extra weight to carry around when she was standing. "Did you find them, babe?" She asked Jake when she found him in the kitchen.
Grace kissed him back lovingly both times, her eyes tearing up with emotion as he finally told her he loved her. She raised her hands and gently placed them on either side of his face. "Why did we wait so long to admit this to each other?" She asked softly, lovingly stroking his cheeks with her thumbs. "We've wasted so much time. So many years we could've..," she closed her eyes and leaned her head against his a little more, a tear escaping and sliding down her cheek. There was nothing she wanted more than to love Wyatt for the rest of her life. It was exquisite, to sit like this and be so close to him, knowing that e loved her back. But now they may only have limited time remaining, and she wasn't willing to give up what they had now.
Brody took her outstretched hand, his eyes wide and scared. His own hands had been cleaned and bandaged while she was asleep. He couldn't leave Joelle here by herself; the last time he had done that she had been attacked and ended up here in the hospital. "What if I want to stay the night here?" He asked the nurse, looking up at her. "Could I do that? I don't mind sleeping in the chair." He added, tense as he waited for her answer.
Jake chuckled softly and nodded," okay then just be careful." He said then went to check all over their small house for the candles. "No I have not found them yet Sof... Where else would you have put them?" He asked looking at her as he had been looking in the kitchen cabinets for the candles also. "You insist on putting everything away and now we can't find it." He said teasing her a little bit
Wyatt frowned a little bit and hugged her close," I don't know I just never said anything because I was afraid you didn't like me that way and I didn't want to lose you." He said softly brushing his nose against hers. "I know but you know what it's better late than never." He quipped with a small smile for her. "We will just use whatever time we have and are given to be here together." He told her softly
Sofia pouted. "Well I'm sorry I don't want a messy house." She argued playfully and sighed, looking through the pantry for the things she needed to make dinner. "Maybe the cupboard in the bathroom? I might have used them for a bath a while ago." She suggested, glancing at him apologetically. "I'm sorry to make you look all over the place for them, sweetie." She told him, filling a pot with water for the spaghetti. "If they're not in there, I'll just give you some money to buy some new ones when you go get the movie."
The nurse looked from Joelle to Brody and then nodded," You can stay but don't make me regret it." She told him softly. Joelle relaxed a little bit as the nurse left the room leaving just her and Brody. She looked down at their hands and tapped the back of his hand and looked at him questioningly
Jake laughed softly and kissed her cheek softly. "It's fine I don't mind but sometimes we should just keep it in one spot." He told her with a laugh then went to the bathroom to look," I found them!" He called triumphantly. "I wouldn't have used your money anyways and you know it." He told her walking out if the bathroom and putting the candles on the coffee table. "Did you want me to get movies or just use the ones we have?"
Grace opened her testy eyes, sniffling slightly and giving him a small smile. "I know you're right, Wyatt." She said softly, moving her hand from his face up into his soft hair. "I don't know why I got so emotional all of a sudden." She said softly and looked into his beautiful eyes, gently pulling her fingers through his hair. "It just feels so...right, to be like this with you. I just wish I could've had more time to do this.." She murmured and gave him a long kiss. "I'll just have to make up for lost time, I guess." She said playfully.
"Thank you." Brody said gratefully, relaxing as well. He sat back down in the chair and drew it close to the bed without letting go of her hand. "That is my karma for beating up another person." He told her and chuckled a little. "These two are broken." He said softly, pointing to the two middle knuckles on his right hand. "The rest is just cuts and bruises. It looks worse than it is." He said quietly and shrugged a little, looking down at her. "I'd do it again a million times if i needed to." He whispered.
He smiled at her and shrugged," I don't mind it at all Gracie." He said softly," If you were anyone else I might have already left you but I couldn't leave you now." Wyatt replied softly. He moved slightly so that he was laying back on the couch and he grinned up at her after she pulled away from him," I think I can deal with you having to make up for lost time." He replied gently tugging her hair
Joelle looked at his hands and then smiled just a little bit reaching up to take the oxygen mask away from her mouth. "You didn't have to do that." She said softly and slowly looking up at him as she opened and closed her eyes a few times. "But thank you."
"Yay! We can just use the ones we have here. No need to go out and get one if you don't want to." She said and as she dumped the spaghetti into the now boiling water. "It shouldn't take too long to finish dinner." She told him and peeked over her shoulder to see him arranging the candles. It was bittersweet to see his handsome face smiling as he arranged their dinner. She cherished moments like these, but she would miss them so much when he was gone.
Grace smiled down at him, shaking her head playfully. She laid her head on his chest, sighing happily as she turned her attention back to the movie. She felt so lucky right now, despite the situation she found herself in. She had dreamt of being with Wyatt for so long, and actually being with him was more than she ever could have imagined. "It's a good thing I've seen this movie so many times, since I haven't even watching it." She sai and laughed a little, wrapping her arm around his torso as she laid on his chest.
Brody sighed, rolling his eyes a little bit. "Of course I had to do it, Joelle. I can't stand the thought of his hands on you..." He shook his head as if trying to get the image out of his head. "Jo....I'm so sorry." He whispered, fighting to hold back the emotion in his voice. He needed to be strong for her now, not whining like a little girl. "I shouldn't have left you there. I should have been there to protect you." He insisted, the hand in his lap tightening into a fist while the one holding hers stayed gentle as ever. "I should never have even thought about leaving you. This is my fault."
Jake nodded a little thinking she was looking at him," Okay sounds good to me I'll just set everything up." He answered smiling a bit while he put the candles on the coffee table and then lit them before going to find a movie,"Hey Sofie what movie do you want to watch?" He asked as he stood in front of all of their movies not sure what to pick. He looked over at her," Good because I'm starving."
Wyatt grinned at her and just rested his hands on her back as they just watched the movie," yeah well I've probably seen it more times than you have if not more." He answered laughing a little bit. He really didn't care that at that point in both of their lives he didn't know if he would be with Gracie for much longer but he didn't care. "Gracie." He said softly looking down at her
Joelle nodded a little bit and sighed softly," Brody." She whispered trying to squeeze his hand but not able to too much. "Not your fault." She managed to get out before starting to cough because of the throat. She sighed softly and put the mask back over her nose and laid back in the pillows
"You better be starving." She teased and stuck her tongue out at him for playfully. "I don't know what movie I want to watch, babe. Why don't you pick some out and then I'll tell you which one I would rather watch." She suggested, stirring the sauce. She reached up into the top cupboard to grab some plates for them, already struggling as her belly got in the way. She couldn't imagine three months from now when she was even bigger. She sighed as she set them on the counter and started platinf their food. "What do you want to drink?"
Grace giggled, her body moving against his as she did. "Well you have your sister as an excuse." She told him, still smiling to herself as they watched the movie. She was quiet until he said her name. She looked up at him with a smile on her face, resting her chin on his chest. "Yes?" She asked expectantly, her green eyes finding his through her long eyelashes.
Jake laughed softly and nodded." Alright so we can watch fantastic four, I'll sit through Frozen with you or my personal favorite lion king." He answered glancing over his shoulder at her. He watched a she got them plates and didn't know what he was going to do with out her with him for the next few months of their lives. "I don't care milk or water is fine with me." He replied Wyatt laughed a little also," Yeah so what... Half the time Kay falls asleep before te movie ends." He replied as she looked up at him he smiled gently at her. "What exactly are we now?" He asked softly," I know best friends but are we still just friends or are we more than that?" He asked
Brody frowned, helping her put the mask back over her face. "I feel like it's my fault, Jo. But I don't want to argue about it right now." He said softly and sighed. "Do you want to sleep? Watch tv?" He asked, not wanting her to be bored but also wanting her to get the rest she needed to heal as quickly as possible.
Joelle rolled her eyes a little bit with a small smile knowing he was just wanting to keep her happy by not arguing with her. She wrinkled her nose and said," tv." She was tired but didn't want to sleep. Joelle wanted to have Brody close to her so she didn't think that Alan could come and get her again but that would be a question for later
Sofia smiled at him. "Lion King, definitely. If you go put it in, I'll bring the plates over. Everything is ready." She told him. She brought the plates to the living room, and then the cups and napkins before finally sitting down. "Anything else we need?" She wondered, looking over their modest but romantic setup. They didn't have a lot of money to go out, but she almost liked it better this way.
Jake chuckled," Alright lion king it is." He answered," Okay tell me if you need any help." He said putting the Lion King in and turning the tv on so they could watch. Sometimes he felt bad about not being able to take Sofie out all that often but when he was able it made it all that much more special. Though like her he much preferred to stay in their modest little home and have their date nights there. "Looks perfect to me." He replied with a grin for her. "Thanks Sof this is great." He said sitting down with her
Grace bit her lip and blushed, turning her face again so her cheek rested on his chest. "I think we are definitely more than friends, Wyatt." She said softly, fiddling with a string coming off the couch anxiously. "I think it would be great to be able to call you my boyfriend.." She admitted, "but it's okay if you don't want to go there yet." She said softly, not really sure what he wanted out of this. She knew that she was in love with him, and she was willing to be as serious with him as he wanted to be with her, whatever that may be.
Brody nodded and turned on the TV, turning it to her favorite channel. He leaned back in his chair and propping his socked feet up on the bed next to her legs. He was pretty exhausted himself now that the adrenaline of the night had worn off. He didn't want to make her talk too much, so he just sat there in comfortable silence for a while as the TV played
Wyatt nodded a little bit," Okay I was just seeing where you wanted to be with this." He answered softly. He played with her hair a little bit as he fell silent thinking for a second. He knew that he loved Gracie with all of his heart and he wanted to be able to call her his girlfriend. He smiled a little at that thought making up his mind to ask her right then. "Gracie?" He asked after a few minutes of them just watching or in his case listening to the movie
Joelle turned her attention to the tv as he turned it on. For some reason she had the feeling that sleep wouldn't come very easily to her anymore. She sighed softly as she slowly relaxed on the bed smiling a little at the fact that Brody was just placing his feet on te bed with her. Really she wanted him with her too. Joelle tried to think of a way to tell him what she wanted without really speaking it out loud
Sofia smiled at him. "You're very welcome, handsome." She said and leaned over to give him a peck on the cheek. She said a quick prayer in her head before starting to eat. The candles set a nice little mood for their dinner, even with the children's movie playing. "What are you thinking about?" She wondered after a few minutes of enjoying their food.
"Mmhm?" Grace murmured, turning her head to look up at him again. She loved it when Wyatt called her Gracie- he was the only one that did. she found this new, more shy version of him cute and endearing. He usually just spat out whatever he wanted without putting too much thought into it beforehand.
Jake chuckled softly and grinned at her kissing her cheek back and saying his own little prayer mostly for her before he started eating his own food. He sighed softly as he leaned back against the couch watching the tv. He looked back over at her with a small smile," how much I'm just going to miss you." He answered
Brody tried to pay attention to the show and stay alert for Joelle, not he found himself having to force his eyes open every few minutes as he dozed off. He sighed, running a hand over his stubbly face. "I'm sorry, Jo. You're going to have to forgive me if I accidentally fall asleep." He told her and chuckled a little, glancing at the clock. It was almost midnight now.
Wyatt was looking down at her as she looked up at him. "So.... Gracie will you be my girlfriend?" He asked softly normally with her he just said whatever he was thinking but now he wanted to be more thoughtful and intentional with what he asked and wanted from her. And right now all he wanted her to do was say yes to him
Sofia sighed, looking over at him with loving eyes. "I don't want you to think about that, love." She said softly and moved over so her shoulder touched hi. "I just want you to focus on staying safe and making it back here to me and our baby." She said softly and touched his cheek lightly before taking another bite of her spaghetti.
Joelle had just sort of zoned out. She was looking at the tv but not really seeing it. She was exhausted like he was because being forced to sleep does not help with how tired you are. Joelle jumped a little bit when he finally spoke and then nodded but while he was looking at her she tapped the bed lightly with the hand closest to him
Jake looked at her and nodded," okay okay I'll try not to think about that for now but I'll still be safe and I'll get home as soon as I can." He answered pressing his shoulder into hers a little bit at he took another bite of off. He sighed softly," what are you thinking of babe?" He asked
Gracie bit back a giggle at the awkward way he posed his question. Her smile grew wider as she sat up on her elbows so she could look down at him. "I would love, and be honored, to be your girlfriend, Wyat" She told him, her face full of sincerity as she studied his face. She leaned down and kissed him deeply, sitting up a little and letting her palms press against his chest. Wyatt wasn't the most buff guy she had ever known, but he had always been active , and she could feel toned muscle hidden beneath his tee shirt.
Brody's eyes widened a little when he realized she wanted him to get into the bed with her. "I don't know, Joelle..." He murmured, conflicted. He wanted to do what she asked, both because she wanted him to and because he wanted to be there to comfort her. But he was afraid of hurting her or pulling out an IV or something. "Are you sure?" He asked softly, blinking at her with tired, innocent eyes. He never wanted to take advantage of Joelle, and even though he had dreamt many times of sleeping next to her, he didn't want to accept too readily.
Sofia shrugged. "Nothing in particular, really. I'm just...anxious, I think." She told him, a slightly frustrated look crossing her face. She was feeling sad about having to let him go, but she was also nervous about what came after that. Keeping up with the house and the bills on her own, dealing with the last months of her pregnancy without his support, giving birth and taking care of their newborn without him.... It was all so unknown and intimidating. She didn't know if she was strong enough to go through it without him by her side.
Even as he was stating the question he wanted an answer for it sounded like a stupid way to ask even as he grinned a little bit hearing her answer. He kissed her back sliding his fingers into her hair and closing his eyes. Wyatt had always enjoyed playing with her hair and now because of whatever they were going to put her through he had a feeling she wouldn't have her hair long anymore. He smiled up at her as she pulled away letting his fingers slide down her back.
Joelle frowned as he stared at her. "Please?" She whispered. She just wanted him close so she could be reminded of his presence and feel safe. With Brody close to her she felt safe and protected like no one could come and hurt her again. At his second statement she nodded still staring at him with pleading light blue eyes. She needed him to help her slept and rest
Jake frowned," anxious why?" He asked moving away from his plate and settling next to her with an arm around her pulling her close," Everything will be fine honey... What are you anxious about?" He asked," I'll help you deal with all of it right now or at least tell you what is going to happen to the best of my knowledge." Jake answered softly. He hated seeing her upset and knowing that right now was one of the last times he would get to hold her and talk with her for a while made jake hold her that much closer and that much tighter
Grace smiled softly and closed her eyes, loving the feeling of his warm hands on her back. She turned half her attention back to the movie, the other still on Wyatt and how awed she was to finally be his girlfriend. She trailed her one hand from his chest, up to his shoulder and down his arm slowly, twisting her fingers through his when she reached his hand. She was surprised at how new all of this was, discovering parts of him that she had never allowed herself to think about before- both mentally and physically.
