Joelle nodded a little bit an got him some water," well I kind of just want to not be around a bunch of people right now." She said softly sitting back down beside him. "I mean if I kept all the lights off and pulled my curtains over my window and put the shades down you shouldn't be able to see my tv.. Then you can just have my keys and come back over when you get off work." She said softly then smiled," You are a dork you should know it's still hot."

"I'm sorry I didn't play with you today, but I have to go back to my house soon." she said softly, smiling at the little girl's laugh. "I'll be back to play with you soon, don't worry. I can't let someone else get to play with you all the time!" she teased and kissed her little warm forehead. "Wyatt is in his room. Do you want to go see him?" she asked Kayla, holding her arms out to pick her up if she wanted to go.
Jake chuckled softly," Im sure he will just like every other baby out there has taught their parents how to be parents." He answered hugging her close to him. "Go to sleep I'll still be here when you get up and we can do something else when you wake." He said softly," I'll just rest with you." Jake replied softly kissing her head gently
Brody nodded. "That sounds okay, I think." he murmured and took a long gulp of his water. "Well, I'm hungry! A little heat isn't going to stop me." he said and laughed, taking a huge bite of his pizza for effect. They ate in silence for a minute or so before Brody spoke up again. "You'll have to promise to call me if you feel uncomfortable here, though." he told Joelle, looking at her. "If anybody knocks on the door or you think somebody is driving by too often...anything. You call me and I'm coming back."
Kayla nodded a little bit," you pwomise to tome back and pay wif me Cie?" She asked looking up at her. "But Y pays wif me too." She said then nodded asking to get picked up. "We go see Y and ten you hafa weave?" She asked
Joelle giggled softly and hook her head," you won't be able to taste anything for a week if you do that." She replied watching him and then taking a few bite of her own pizza after pulling off the pepperonis and eating them. She looked over at Brody and nodded a little bit," okay I promise I will call you if anything weird starts to happen." She said softly. "But I hope nothing happens so that you can just work without worrying about me the whole time."
"Ahh, but not all parents are good parents." Sofia pointed out with her eyes still closed. She nodded a little, draping her arm over his strong stomach. "Don't be afraid to wake me up if you want to get up, though." she added, already half asleep. She was thankful that Kaden seemed to have fallen asleep too, giving her a break to actually be able to sleep well.
"No but you will be a good mother." He said softly keeping his arms around her a bit as he just watched her go to sleep." I know Sof." He said quietly hoping she would sleep for a little while and that Kaden would just be still for a little bit. He sighed softly as he held her close to his side gently tracing his fingers over her face and hair trying to memorize everything about her so he could have her memory close when he left the next day
((Back, sorry. Went and got some food))Gracie stood up and lifted Kayla into her arms, holding the sleepy little girl on her hip. "Yea, I have to leave after we see Wyatt. But I promise to come back and play with you soon, okay?" she said softly and kissed her forehead as they made their way back to Wyatt's room. She knocked on the door lightly before pushing it open, peeking inside. "Somebody wanted to come see you." she said with a smile and walked in with Kayla.
"I'll worry about you anyway, Jo. You know that." Brody said and nudged her playfully, finishing the last of his pizza. "You know, you're pretty high maintenance. I don't know why I let you be my best friend." he teased, taking his plate to the trash. He needed to leave, but didn't want to go just yet.
((It's all good ))Kayla nodded," Otay you tome back adian an we play." She answered wrapping her small arms around Grace's neck and then laying her head on her shoulder. "I wove you." She whispered as they walked into Wyatt's room.
Wyatt looked at them," what someone wanted to see me?" He asked looking at the two girls. "Are you sure she didn't go back to sleep?" He asked looking at Grace as Kayla's little head didn't pop back up.
True to Wyatt's words Kayla was half asleep again in Grace's arms
Joelle looked at him as she started eating her pizza finally. " ohh I know but sometimes it helps to just tell you know to worry about me all the time." She answered with a small smile. She shrugged," I don't know and I am not just sometimes when I need you around." She replied with a soft sigh. "Go turn off all the lights and I'll go hide out in my room with the pizza and a few movies so no one will know I'm still here." She said getting her plate and a bottle of water to go up to her room
Sofia slept soundly wrapped in Jake's arms. She sure hoped she would be a good mother. She had always thought she would, but now that it was happening she was so nervous. She just wanted to be everything that Kaden needed. She dreamt about many things in the short hour that she slept- both good and bad. She dreamt about holding their baby in her arms, Jake's arms wrapped around them and his eyes full of pride. She dreamt of bombs and gunshots in an unknown desert landscape. She dreamt of both overwhelming love and crippling sadness. She only fidgeted a few times as she slept, but her skin was warm when she opened her eyes to find Jake still next to her.
Jake had drifted off to sleep not long after Sofia did. He said softly and snuggled closer to her as he just slept dreaming of nothing for the first time in a few days. He didn't tell Sofia about the dreams that had him almost paralyzed in fear. But then sometimes he would dream about the future they had together. He sighed softly knowing she was safe with him for now as so was Kaden though he was still unborn. But he still just slept even as she moved a little in her sleep he was peaceful for a while not nervous energy like he had been before
Grace peeked down at Kayla and laughed a little. "Wow, that was quick." she said and rested her cheek on top of Kayla's little head. "She really did want to come see you." she said and laughed a little, sitting down on the edge of the bed. "She was upset that I didn't play with her today and I had to leave." she explained softly, gently laying her down on the bed with her head on her brother's pillow.
Brody nodded and started to clean up after them. He checked to make sure the back door was locked and picked up a book she had laying on the table before turning off all the lights downstairs and on the way to her room. He knocked on the door lightly before walking in. He placed the book on her bedside able. "Just incase you get bored." he explained and sighed, tucking his hands into his pockets. "I think that's everything... Is there anything else you need or want me to do?" he asked softly, still lingering, not wanting to leave her here.
Sofia rolled over a little to look into Jake's face, smiling a little when she realized he was asleep. She laid her head back on the pillow next to his shoulder, rubbing his slowly rising and falling chest gently. She couldn't imagine her life without Jake. She didn't even like the idea of waking up without him in the morning; she couldn't stand the thought that she might have to spend the rest of her life without him if something went wrong when he was overseas. She was proud of her fiancee for doing his duty and putting himself and risk for the millions of innocent people in their country, but she just wished she could be sure that he would come home safe.
Kayla sighed softly as she laid down in Wyatt's bed. Wyatt smiled a little bit," she's always upset when you leave.. I think you might like her better than you like me." He teased softly and pulled her down into his bed with him
Joelle looked up as she pulled a few movies out of a bookshelf and set her tv and DVD player up and then went to get dressed for bed. She poked her head out of the closet," Ohh that's sweet of you." She said walking out after pulling her shirt on.. " I'm okay though Brody I'll be just fine." She replied softly
Jake woke up a few minutes later as he felt her fingers over his chest. He smiled a little bit at her." what's with that face?" He asked softly looking at her still half asleep with his arms around her with a gently squeeze
Grace rolled her eyes. "That's not true. She's just easier to cuddle with." she argued playfully, looking down at little Kayla with an affectionate smile. She had gotten very close to Wyatt's sister over the years. She spent a lot of time here, and they liked to go out to the park or for ice cream or little things like that every once in a while with Kayla. She was almost like a sister to her. Grace whined when Wyatt pulled her down, but wrapped her arms around him at the same time. "I really need to go, Wyatt." she said softly, looking up at him.
Brody sighed. "I know, I know." he mumbled, looking down at his feet awkwardly. "Well, I guess I'll get going then. I took your keys from the hook." he said and dangled them in the air. "I'll probably be back around ten." he told her, slowly making his way toward the door.
"Hmm?" Sofia murmured and looked up at him. "Oh, nothing. Just watching you sleep." she said softly and kissed his eyelids lightly. "I didn't mean to wake you up, love. Go back to sleep if you want." she told him and snuggled closer to his body. She had said she didn't want to waste time sleeping, but she really liked being like this with Jake- just being close to him and having some quality time together was enough. At least when he was sleeping he was calmer, happier.
"You wound me... Easier to cuddle with?" He asked in a pretend hurt voice. Wyatt smiled at her knowing she loved his surprise of a baby sister. When it helped his mom out they would often just take Kayla with them when they were just hanging out at the park so he saw how much Grace loved his sister and really he didn't mind it at all. Wyatt shook his head a little bit as he held her in his lap. " a few more minutes won't hurt you." He said softly nuzzling the side of her head gently.
Joelle nodded and then sighed a little," If you want I'll call you after an hour and then text you what I'm doing." She offered softly looking at him just knowing he was going to be super distracted even as he worked. She smiled a little," I'll be okay I promise I'll turn my light off and you tell me when you go to my car if you can see my tv if you can ill just use my phone and iPad all night. " Joelle slipped forward and hugged him gently," thank you Brody." She whispered
Jake closed his eyes again and nodded slightly," okay." He answered softly and he held her close,"'I told you to wake me if you wanted me." He answered softly almost drifting back off to sleep but opening his eyes again. He sighed softly as he looked down at his fiancé. "I love you."He whispered kissing her head and rolling onto his side so he faced her
Grace giggled. "Well she is a lot smaller than you. It's kind of hard to cuddle with lanky, muscly men." she teased and wrapped her arms around his neck. "And I know it won't, but you'll make me want to stay more than just a few minutes." she complained, leaning into his embrace. "I'm going to be busy with some stuff tomorrow, so I probably won't be able to hang out until we go to my appointment." she told him, resting her head on his shoulder.
Brody hugged her back tightly. "You're welcome, Jo. Any time." he said softly and squeezed her once before letting her go. "And you don't have to do all that...this is your house, after all." he said and shrugged, feeling bad that she was basically on house arrest, when they weren't even sure something would happen. "Just be smart and don't let anybody in here. You can text me whenever you want, and I'll try to text you back if I'm not busy." he said softly and sighed. "I'll see you when I bring the car back, okay?"
Sofia smiled lovingly at Jake as she watched him try to fight off the sleep. "I know you did, babe. I didn't need you for anything. I just wanted to touch you; I didn't realize I would wake you up. I'm sorry." she said softly and kissed his temple gently. She gave him a soft smile when he looked at her and stroked his arm gently. "I love you too, Jake. More than you could ever know." she whispered.
Wyatt chuckled softly," seriously you pick a tiny little girl over me?" He asked," I thought you said I was a good pillow or something like that." He teased her as he held her close to him," I know I'm keeping you from going home but I just don't want you to be far from me right now." He said kissing her head softly and then nodding," okay I suppose I will deal with that... When is your next appointment?" He asked
"I know Brody." She said softly," you are the best and ill be alright just hanging out up here."She replied softly. Joelle looked up at him and nodded," I know but if it makes you feel better about leaving me then ill do it.. Plus it might make me feel safer doing all of that and talking with you when I can then ill know you are coming back even if you do have my car."
She said softly shrugging a little bit," you really need to go before you are late.. I'll be fine I'm a big girl now."
Grace sighed and shook her head a little. "Dont think like that, please. I'm not sick, Wyatt. Not yet. I just have some headaches, that's all."she said firmly and squeezed his hand. "And you are a very good pillow. I'll give you that much." She teased and placed her head on his chest for emphasis, giggling a little. "You're much better than Kayla at that." She teased. "The appointment isa U after tomorrow. 8 o'clock in the morning."
Jake nodded a little bit," Awww you are adorable I want to just fold you up and put you in my pocket so I can keep you with me forever." He said grinning sleepily at her. "It's okay I think I'll go back to sleep," he muttered," I don't care if you touch me I like it."He told her with a small smile. He didn't care that she had woken him up he just wanted to see her every time he woke up not matter what the next day would bring for them
Wyatt nodded a little," Ice always felt like tay not just because you told me you have cancer I always want you where I know you are safe as protected. " he answered then laughed softly and hugged her," Im glad you think I'm a great pillow."He replied still laughing a little bit," so I'm picking you up from your house ten right?" He asked
"I know you will." Brody said softly and hugged her again tightly. "I'll check my phone as often as I can, okay? Just call me if you need me." he said and backed out the door. "Don't have too much fun in here, okay?" he teased and winked at her before walking quickly down the stairs and out of the house, locking the door before going to the car. He scanned the house to make sure there were no visible lights and nodded to himself when he was satisfied. "All good." he texted her before driving off to work.
"I think it would be pretty hard to put me in your pocket right now." Sofia teased, patting her round belly with a playful smile. "Okay baby, sleep tight. Sweet dreams." she murmured and kissed his lips gently before snuggling back into his side. She hummed softly as he drifted to sleep, rubbing his arm with one hand and gently running her fingers along her stomach with the other. She loved this moment, and she did her best to commit it to memory so she could remember it for as long as possible.
Joelle hugged him back tightly and nodded," Okay... I will."She answered then laughed softly," ohh ill have so much fun without you I won't even need you anymore." She teased him and then sighed a bit flopping in her bed. "Bye."
She called softly and then looked at her phone S she started a movie -good- she replied
Grace laughed, feeling Wyatt's own laughter reverberate through his chest. "Yes, please. I think that would be best." she answered, nodding. "I'm not supposed to drive after it's done." she said quietly. She looked down at Kayla, sleeping so peacefully. She wondered what it was like to have not a care in the world like this little girl. It seemed there was always something new to worry about.
Jake chuckled sleepily and nodded," maybe but if it could happen I would find a away to do it." He replied kissing her softly and shifting a little so he was on his side facing her as he draped his arm over her side sliding his fingers a long the soft smooth skin of her back as he drifted off to sleep again. He didn't really understand why he was so tired but he was and he just wanted to have Sofia and Kaden close to him for as long as he could keep them there
Wyatt nodded and kissed her head softly," okay then I'll be there to pick you up." He said," What time do you want me there?" He asked looking down at her but then following her gaze towards his sister. He looked back at Grace and hoped that she could get some rest tonight so that she wouldn't be too tired later and he hoped her parents wouldn't freak too much on her.
Brody drove back home and changed into his work clothes before driving Joelle's car to the restaurant he worked at. -Made it to work on time. Everything going okay?- he texted her, wishing he could have just stayed. He hated leaving her by herself, but she was an adult and he couldn't tell her what to do or how to live her life. He was glad, at least, that she had agreed to stop seeing Allen. He had been bad news from the beginning; even before their relationship had become abusive.
Sofia closed her eyes, loving when he rubbed her back like that. "Go to sleep, love." she murmured, a small smile on her face as she drifted off to sleep as well. They didn't need to be doing anything special to enjoy their last day together; she was content to just lay here with Jake for the rest of the day. They often were too busy to just get to relax together, so this was a nice little break from their everyday lives.
Grace thought about it for a moment. "Probably about 7:15. I know it's not far to the hospital, but I would like to get there early just incase there's paper work I need to fill out or something. I don't really know what to expect." she said and shrugged a little. She kissed his cheek gently and gave him a small smile. "Thanks for going with me, it means a lot. I don't think I would be as comfortable if my parents were going." she said honestly and sighed a little, not sure what else to say about it.
Joelle looked at her phone while she was watching her movie - everything is fine for now- she replied then went back to her movie with a soft sigh. She wanted to go out as do something else but she had promise Brody she would be careful. Joelle looked around and thought she heard someone trying to get into the house but figured that her imagination was just running wild because she was scared of what would happen in Allen were to come over
Jake sighed softly and nodded a little bit," I am." He answered softly yawning and shifting around to get comfortable again. He sighed as slowly went back to sleep as she did. Jake didn't mind that now that they were home all that they had done was sleep but it was peaceful and relaxing and he just wanted to spend time with Sofia relaxing and not doing anything bit worrying about their wedding not worrying about Kaden and definitely not worrying about him leaving for six months.
Wyatt nodded just a little bit," okay then I'll be there to pick you up at 7:15 the day after tomorrow and I know you like to be way early just in case anything needs to get done." He teased her softly. He hugged her ad kissed her cheek softly," I would do anything for you." He said," besides if our situations were reversed you would do the same thing for me." He told her still holding her close to him
((sorry I haven't been on very much, I've been super busy lately))Brody continued on with his tables, checking his phone every now and then. -Good. Let me know if you need anything. Or if you're just bored and want to talk- he responded and sighed to himself. It was hard to concentrate on his tables after a few minutes of Joelle not texting back. He kept getting nervous about what was happening when she didn't text back.
Joelle was still holding her phone in her hand as she went down in the dark house to see what was going on down at the back door. She had her phone screen on ready to call Brody if she saw anything when something crashed thru her glass back door. Joelle screamed a little bit and went back up to her ro as quickly and quietly as she could before loving her door and calling Brody
Sofia slept next to him, content even though she woke up every so often. She enjoyed just being next to Jake and being able to pay attention to what Kaden was doing without trying to do something else at the same time. It was amazing how attached she had grown to her baby, and she hadn't even met him yet. She spent the time she was awake running her hands and eyes over different parts of Jake, committing them to memory.
