Misty, IDK about you, but I get confused pretty easily, so don't feel bad. That would have thrown me threw a loop too ;)

Are there food/water/bathroom accessible?

I'm glad to see that this group has gotten more active lately. Cant wait to get to know all of you!
*thanks to this thread I'm about halfway through Voyage of the Dead and I love it so far

Tampa Comic Con was awesome! Lots of great costumes and a few really great booths. Mostly comics (imagine that) which I'm really not that into. Met some cool people from Troma and picked up a copy of Killer Condom for my DVD collection. Met a few indie authors, too, and picked up some new books to add to the pile.

Do share...do you remember the name of the story with the zombies on Mars.
Ian - glad you had fun at Tampa Comic Con. A friend of mine was working one of the booths and I thought of you. Of course, I also thought of all the crowds, which I tend to avoid like a zombie-infested mall, and stuck poolside with the kids instead.

Big crowds kind of freak me out and I wasn't doing too well at first. Luckily, there was a bar across the street.

It was a artefact that was opened that caused the infection, and these zombies could run. A group of college age kids banded together and then it was a race to save others collect air and think about how to get of the planet.
It really was good, but I don't what to say to much, but if you think hot wiring a car can cause some problems, you should read this.

I totally hear you. We tried to hit the Calgary Comic Con a few years ago when they had the FULL TNG cast, Stan Lee, Adam West and several other notables. It was utterly insane. We actually didn't get in because the Fire Marshall closed it down for a while. They expected 50,000 and got 250,000. The crowds were horrific.

They ended up with people travelling from Europe, Asia and the US to come and see the first reunion of the TNG cast in many years. It was really poor planning that they so grossly underestimated the draw.

I don't care if I'm a nerd/geek, I like all the comics and books & tv and now my family is grown I'm free to do just what interests me. Well mostly anyway, lol.

I already own the current #1

But I do not own either of the two books which are tied for second place.

I looked on amazon for their kindle book price and wow..
The Reapers are the Angels comes in at $8.89
Portlandtown is also at $8.89
I am one of those who refuse to pay paperback book prices for kindle books. (Insert very long and quite loud rant here)
So I looked at my library website and found that they had both titles in paperback form and they were both available!
SCORE!
I placed a reserve on them both.
So now I'm ready :-)
If you are in the same predicament that I was, look at your library.

Welcome Megan! I'm glad this thread is paying off. LOL

Good choice, Tammy. Not just a survival tool either. But a good thing to have. When it contributes to your survival, you will be wishing you could add another star or two... LOL.

They sound like good books though.

The ones I posted are the finalists in next month's Book of the Month (BOTM) group read.
If you haven't voted I think there is still time.
Look at the top of this page on the right hand side just under our groups red icon.
Click on the word "polls".
That should take you to the poll page.
From there vote on your favorite.

It is still free on Amazon (USA) check your nation's Amazon for pricing.
You (and anyone interested) are welcome to join the buddy read. Go to the buddy reads thread and add your name.

We had about 15,000 at ApocaCon last year (riding the shirt-tails of a major Zombie Walk). Projections for this year are bigger (the Walkers are taking over the Promenade in Long Beach) and I'm stoked that more authors will be joining us. Even more stoked that Permuted Press is a sponsor. Should be a blast!

A very honorable title/nickname for sure. I still collect comics myself.

So do I, but not as much as I used to sadly. I love the Call of Duty Black Ops Zombie game. And I just finished Mass Effect 3. That was "The" game of all games I thought.

To borrow and modify the song from Month Python
I am not zed yet!

Tammy K: I love the twisted Zed-ification of the Monty Python song. I'll be singing that all day :)

Hi Joy. Nice to see you here!

Monty Python skits are one of those "brain worm" things.
If you give them just one seconds thought, they'll be with you for hours. :-)
For those of you not familiar with the original skit... Here is a link. Take a second or two to watch it, as the song does not start for a few minutes.

Hi Joy. Great to see you here.

My video gaming is on a temporary hiatus once the toddlers discovered that the broken controller doesn't really work. :__)
Now I'm waiting a few years till they go to bed (NOT) or we get out of the Elmo stage.

Many of us are parents. Some of us have school age children, or are in school (college) ourselves.
Some have completed their years of schooling.
So let's share our thoughts on the topic.
What was/is your favorite thing about school?
I'll start. I am long since our of college. My youngest son is getting his BA in business. He is starting his Junior year mid-September. I am looking forward to him being out of the house!
The K-12 schools in our area have returned to classes. I love the quite daytime hours :-)

Mine are little (11, 9 and 5), so they're all still in elementary school. We home school, which is pretty rewarding. Also - exhausting at times :)
My favourite part about school as a kid - was the weekly library visits!

Please join me in wishing group member
Kristin (Blood,Sweat and Books) a Happy Birthday as she celebrates her special day later this weekend.

I hate to be a nerd, but I loved to read in school (I got busted once for sneaking out of class and going to the library) and still do.
Side note - my 6 year old daughter is now playing Minecraft on her tablet and killing zombies, which disappear into "bubbles with no blood." This from a girl who worships Barbie.
