Black: Divergent by Veronica Roth; Dystopian, a really awesome story and beginning to a trilogy.

Hi, Becca, thanks for the awesome picks. I've decided to give the following a go:
1. Outlander
2. City of Fallen Angels
3. Cinder
4. Love of Truth
I'm willing to do a buddy read for either Outlander or Cinder. Whichever you're up for, if not both.

Here are my August picks:
◈Purple: {Used to symbolize magic and mystery} Pick a book that has a magic or a mystery plot OR a book with a purple cover Midnight Awakening (Midnight Breed #3).
◈Blue: {Coolest Color} Recommend a book that is perfect for a lazy day reading OR a book with a blue cover Dex In Blue (Johnnies#2) or Iced (Dani O'Malley#1)
◈Green: {Safe Color} Pick a book from an author/theme/series that your picked has read and rated highly OR a book with green color. Extreme Exposure (I-Team #1). I loved this series.
◈Yellow: {Joy & Happiness} Recommend a romance OR a book with yellow cover.
Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage (Highland Pleasures #2) I noticed that you liked book one. I just read this series!
◈Orange: {Power Color} Recommend a book from a genre that your picked doesn't usually read; something that's out of their comfort zone OR a book with a orange cover. Garden Spells Southern chick-lit with a little magic?
◈Red: Recommend a book that's red-hot off the press (released in the last six months) OR a book with a red cover The Cuckoo's Calling
◈Black: {Absence of color} Recommend a dystopian or a Post-apocalyptic book OR a book with a black cover The Boys and the Bees or The Night Circus I love Night. I almost think it is enhanced by reading it on a cold dark night...wait, you may have the perfect weather for it.
◈White: {Presence of All colors} Recommend a standalone or the last book in a series OR a book with a white cover. First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson#1)
I hope you find something you like. Happy reading!

◈Purple {Used to symbolize magic and mystery} Pick a book that has a magic or a mystery plot OR a book with a purple cover

I saw that you read Magic Bites and gave it 4*, why not continue reading the series? I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by Kate's evolution as a character. Also, you recently read Archangel's Consort, surely Dmitri's love story will capture your interest next?
◈Blue: {Coolest Color} Recommend a book that is perfect for a lazy day reading OR a book with a blue cover

I always found historicals to be relaxing and I always go back to Loretta Chase when I want something witty and amusing (you also seem to be enjoying her style) or to Julia Quinn when I'm in need of laughter.
◈Green: {Safe Color} Pick a book from an author/theme/series that your picked has read and rated highly OR a book with green color.

You definitely have a weakness for J.D.Robb/ Nora Roberts based on your shelves and this is a book that I really enjoyed. The heroine is very...unique.
◈Yellow: {Joy & Happiness} Recommend a romance OR a book with yellow cover.

While EJ's books are usually a hit or a miss for me, I must say that this little anthology really worked for me. It was cute, light and with the right amount of humour, angst and love scenes.
◈Orange: {Power Color} Recommend a book from a genre that your picked doesn't usually read; something that's out of their comfort zone OR a book with a orange cover.

◈Red : Recommend a book that's red-hot off the press (released in the last six months) OR a book with a red cover

Great suggestions. Have to check the library and see what's available. I'll get back to you but I'm leaning towards one of the Molly Harper's at least.

Sorry I haven't gotten your picks to you yet, been in the hospital with the hubby and haven't had a chance to breathe yet. I promise to have your picks by Thursday atthe latest.

I have the Sarah Dessen out of the library right now so I'm definitely going to read that one. I think I'm going to read Ready Player One, too, especially since it's the Wild Things BoM. Pretty sure I have that on hold right now, plus I have The Cuckoo's Calling on hold.
You picked a lot of books that I really want to read and the ones that I don't already have on my list sound great! I would read every single pick here if I had the time but whatever I don't get to in August is going to be read in the future for sure. I'd never heard of the Jenna Fox book but it sounds really good. Adding to TBR! Library carries it, woo. Okay, I could comment on every single book but then I'd be writing a short story here (too late? LOL) but I really wanted you to know how much I liked all of your picks for me. Great job! I noticed that we have similar tastes, too, so I was excited to see what you chose for me.

You have some great picks Nikita! This month is going to be crazy for me (getting married this weekend and moving next week across the country) so I'm not positive how much reading time I will have. I'm only going to commit to two right now... but hopefully I'll have time for more. No matter what I am definitely reading

Yay! I'm glad you liked my picks!! And you are reading so many! Makes me feel successful ;)
If you want to do any buddy reads it will have to be later in the month (obviously for Rock Chick Revolution). I'm getting married this weekend and then moving next week across the country, so my life is going to be crazy!! Just let me know if and when you would like to read those other two though!

I had fun looking through your shelves and we had a good amount in common. I hope you enjoy your picks.
1. Purple/magic/mystery
Amaryllis by Jayne Castle. A great start to a PNR trilogy that is still one of my favorites of all time. Or It Takes a Witch by Heather Blake. Darcy learns she and her sister are wish-crafters when they move in with their eccentric aunt and she becomes embroiled in a murder mystery.
2. Blue/lazy day
The Fairy Godmother by Merecedes Lackey is a very intriguing twist on fairy tales. Or you need to check out Jennifer Cruise (any will do) but Bet Me is one of my favorites. She has kooky characters that you want to hang out with.
3. Green/Favorite Author/Favorite Series
You need to keep going on the In Death books as they are in the 30s and amazingly stay good. Looks like your next one is Immortal in Death. Fool for Love by Beth Ciotta is a sweet book set in a small town that is where Chloe goes to figure out her life after being dumped.
4. Yellow/Romance
The Corset Diaries by Katie MacAlister has Tessa flying to England to appear in a reality show about the Victorian Times. Very funny read as some jobs are waaaaaay better than others. I noticed you liked Nora Roberts, you might check out Dance Upon the Air and see Nell come into herself once she arrives at Three Sisters Island, plus the romance is very sweet (one of my favorites of Roberts).
5. Orange/New Genre/Outside Comfort Zone
You don't seem to have much fantasy or sci-fi, so if you feel like expanding your reading horizons, you might check out Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones or Redshirts by John Scalzi (kind of a parody of Star Trek).
6. Red/New Release
Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns by Lauren Weisberger is on your TBR and fits both requirements. Or you can check out The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz and follow Izzy and the rest of her abnormal PI family. FYI, the writing style is very different and may take a few chapters to get use to.
7. Black/Dystopian/Post-Apocolyptic
Driving Mr. Dead by Molly Harper is a short, but good story. I believe Miranda must be a relative of Murphy, since pretty much anything that could go wrong, did. Or start a great UF series about Mercy, a coyote shape-shifter/mechanic in Moon Called by Patricia Briggs
8. White/Standalone/Last Book in Series
Enchanted, Inc. by Shanna Swendson takes place in a world where having absolutely no magic is a very useful thing for our heroine. Another option is Weddings Can Be Murder by Christie Craig. Katie hears her wedding planner get murdered and ends up being rescued by a PI and starts wondering if she is marrying the right guy.
