I'm not diabetic Chuck. I'm on blood thinners for life now because of my heart (Atrial fib - irregular rhythm). They can't seem to get my blood thinned out enough with just the Warfrin, so I have to give myself shots to supplement the pills. They have me on the blood thinners because I had a stroke three years ago and with the atrial fib and high blood pressure I am extremely high risk for another stroke.

Reading for a while and taking it easy.

message 2004: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments So Cindy if you're at risk to that extent you've got some time before you go back to work? I mean is it even save for you to work at the moment?

message 2005: by [deleted user] (new)

No, I can't work right now Angie. I'm thinking about seeing an attorney to help me get disability. Right now I have to go to the doc twice a week, so it would be hard to keep a job. If I work, it will have to be some other job besides in a warehouse. The atrial fib is unpredictable and my heart is subject to go from a normal sinus rhythm to the atrial fib without warning. It is very frustrating because this is the reason I am passing out. Plus, God help, if I got a job where I nicked myself on a box cutter or something. The blood thinners will make you bleed a lot if you're not really careful.

message 2006: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments That's so worrying Cindy, I hope you're getting help from your community. I know that your minister was a help to you a few weeks ago. Get that attorney seen, I can't imagine you wouldn't be allowed disability.

message 2007: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks Angie. I'm just gonna concentrate on doing what the docs say right now. When I go to the doc on Monday, I'm gonna ask him about working and the disability thing.

☆Joycedale☆ | 307 comments Has anyone read Zombie Fallout? My sister came over 2day telling me about it. She says it hilarious and that I need to read it.

message 2022: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments Thats one I have but not yet read, its only 49 pence for the kindle copy:) so its meant to be funny, I'll have to read it soon. Have you read Jordan's Brains: A Zombie Evolution Joycedale? That one had me laughing in so many parts of it!

message 2023: by ☆Joycedale☆ (new)

☆Joycedale☆ | 307 comments I hadn't heard of it, its on my list now.

message 2024: by Addy (new)

Addy | 379 comments Yes, Im enjoying it Kate, but now I feel like I'm in a slump in my home life. Between paying bills, cleaning house, and taking care of kids, I feel like time is running from me. My husband works alot, but he does his share. Finding a balance is so hard right now. Uhg!

message 2025: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments It does get like that for mums of kids who also have to work doesn't it Addy! I never used to have time to myself except later on at night. Things do get easier when the kids get a bit older though:)

message 2026: by Addy (new)

Addy | 379 comments Thanks Angie! Its good to know that others have been through this and that it will get better and easier. Really needed to hear (read) that:)

Daniel (diaze) Angie wrote: "It does get like that for mums of kids who also have to work doesn't it Addy! I never used to have time to myself except later on at night. Things do get easier when the kids get a bit older though:)"

and Dads! :)

And I used to think that it would get easier when they got older. Was I ever wrong.

message 2028: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments Sorry Daniel, I should of included Dads in what I wrote:) Things change when they get bigger, but different problems take over. My kids are grown up now and its nice to have spare time.

message 2029: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (diaze) When does that begin, then? Ha.....

As mine get older, they tend to more activities. Good thing is, I keep books in my car for when I need to wait as part of my driver/dad function.

message 2030: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments I always found car journeys to be the most stressful times, its hard to keep kids entertained when you're driving!

message 2031: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (diaze) I use that time to have great discussions on deeper subjects.

message 2032: by Addy (new)

Addy | 379 comments Daniel, don't say that! I need a little bit of hope...lol, who am I fooling? I know as they get older, so do the problems, unfortunately.

message 2033: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (diaze) Addy wrote: "Daniel, don't say that! I need a little bit of hope...lol, who am I fooling? I know as they get older, so do the problems, unfortunately."

Ooops. No, it gets much, much easier. :)

message 2034: by Addy (new)

Addy | 379 comments Lol! Thank you Daniel. Much better:)

message 2035: by [deleted user] (new)

I am clearing my mind from all the worry and stress and just simply gonna read for a few hours. Sounds like a good plan to me. And, the sun is shining even though it was snowing two hours ago. Crazy weather.

message 2036: by Angie (last edited Mar 27, 2014 07:49AM) (new)

Angie | 623 comments Addy I did find it easier when they got older, like I got myself a bike and I used to take my boys out on rides. And we would have great times, I'd pack picnics and be out for hours:) That started when they were about 7and 8 and we did that until they were 15/16. We cooked together when they got home from school, and they helped with my cakes. Lots of things, I'd think of activities we could do together, so yes the problems change but I do think it gets easier:-)

message 2037: by [deleted user] (new)

Haven't got much reading done lately. Went to court with my grandson today and they temporarily placed him with me. We'll see how that goes. Want to read for a bit if nothing slows me down.

message 2038: by Holly (new)

Holly | 140 comments Good luck with your grandson Cindy. Hope you get to do some reading today.

Finished NOS4A2 by Joe Hill ; what an awesome book! Can't wait to read more by Joe Hill!

message 2039: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments How old is he Cindy? Mine is 14 now, so already bigger than me.

message 2040: by [deleted user] (new)

He is 16 Angie

message 2041: by Addy (new)

Addy | 379 comments Thanks Angie. Its nice to think about:)

message 2042: by ☆Joycedale☆ (new)

☆Joycedale☆ | 307 comments Freaking out a little bit about the storm outside. We're in a tornado watch and if the sirens go off I'm afraid I won't hear them over the storm

message 2043: by [deleted user] (new)

I was just checking out my interactive radar and it looks like there is a current tornado warning over in Missouri. We were supposed to be under a slight risk but the dew point is way too low and the temp change hasn't been that drastic.

message 2044: by Holly (new)

Holly | 140 comments Got back into A Game of Thrones; so glad I did! Can't wait to get to the next one.

I wish the sun would come out....

message 2045: by [deleted user] (new)

I know Holly. It is dreary as hell here. Cloudy and much colder than it has been. Just makes me want to sleep.

message 2046: by Holly (new)

Holly | 140 comments I hear you on that Cindy. There hasn't been any sunshine here in 3 days. It's starting to feel very depressing.

message 2047: by [deleted user] (new)

It is depressing. Today is supposed to be the last cold day for a while. This coming week we're supposed to be in the 60's and 70's. I definitely want to get out and take the dog for a long walk.

message 2048: by Holly (new)

Holly | 140 comments That sounds nice. I hope the weather warms up here, too. I'd love to get out and take a nice walk to the library.

message 2049: by [deleted user] (new)

Thinking about taking a nap for real. Need to finish these books in the next couple of days. Then I'm focusing on ONE at a time. Pinky promise!

message 2050: by Holly (new)

Holly | 140 comments Lol Cindy.

What are you reading these days?
