What are you up to at the moment?
Thank you Gregor. Will keep that in mind:) I was looking at librarian jobs. Seemed like my best bet would be to volunteer, but I don't have time for that, at least not yet. Give me another decade and we'll see...lol.
I volunteer at my local library but its not many hours. I enjoy it though. At the moment I've just but Alias on. But I just want to get stuck back into Night Film.
I haven't been on in a bit, good luck, Addy. I am about to restring and replace a peg on my acoustic guitar. I might be a while. I love playing, but putting on the strings is my bane.
I'm feeling much better today and trying to catch up on some reading. This job is MUCH better than my last. Rarely work on Saturday and never Sunday. I can actually have a life. However, this week has been a little rough on my back and I've had a touch of the flu. Reading for a while before I take a shower, watch a little TV, and call it a night.
Glad it is going good, Cindy. Kick up the feet and relax.

I hope both you guys are feeling a little better:-) It must be hard physically getting back into work Cindy and I'm glad you're getting weekends to relax and rest up a bit. I'm not even going to start the Candy Crush addiction. I have some friends that are truly addicted to the game.
I should but you on my friends list on it through fb and then I could give you lives:) I'm always giveng them to other people. No candy crush here, either. Guitar is a perfect diversion for me... as to whether I am any good... I guess I can play decent in a half ass kind of way.
Taking a break to take a shower and then plan on reading a bit more. A nice, hot shower always relaxes me and helps me sleep. Be back shortly.
Watching Enders Game with the boys. I've shaken off all video game addictions, thankfully. You couldn't pay me enough to get me to play one. Not saying that to be judgemental, it's just that a lot of games these days seem to be more about compulsion through addiction than fun, and compulsion is almost never fun.

Goodnight everyone! Church in the morning then I am babysitting the grandbaby tomorrow afternoon. It will be right around her nap time, so I should be able to read for a while. Taking my Galaxy with me.
10:27 p.m. and I'm getting ready to chill out and get ready for bed. Back has been hurting today more than usual, but I will deal with it. Hopefully a good night's rest will help. Might have to take some Tylenol PM or something.
I know how you feel, Cindy. I took four ibuprofen an hour ago. I have found that using a heating pad works miracles on my back also.

Think I am going to be forced into buying one when I get my paycheck even though I can't afford to spend one penny except for bills right now. I did find some Bengay in the closet but I'm not sure if that will help or not.

Cindy, I hope you can find an affordable one. I am not sure what they go for. I traded my TENS unit ( that is the shock therapy machine I got last ti,e I broke a vertebra, and it wasn't working for me this time) to my mom for her heat pad. She has MS and said the TENS is actually helping give her some relief. So the swap was an equitable one. I find the heat pad is a miracle for my back. It seems to be the only thing that works aside from downing more lortabs than the human liver was built to withstand. And because I have a strong aversion to getting addicted to those, I only allow myself one if it is absolutely necessary. Anyway, I sure hope you get some relief somehow.

I was up to over 25 10/1000mg a day for many, many years--and that's literally not the half of what I was taking. It's oxycodone that will really burn ya. Hard and quick. I never drank alcohol though. That's what will roast your liver.

I have lortab 10/325's and am allowed to take 4 per day, and I have burned through them in half a month before.I was getting percocet 10/325 for a while after the accident, and it only took one of those to relieve me. I have known a couple of people whom got carried away with those and sadly they are now slaves to the methadone clinics. Not anywhere I want to be.

Yep. Liquid freaking handcuffs. Essentially, sanctioned drug dealers.
I have to take all kinds of pills, I feel like I'd rattle if I was shook. Some of them are addictive as well, not good when the doctors decide to change them or stop them.My biggie pain relief is zomorph. I was pretty freaked when I was prescribed those.
Yeah, it's no joke. I played with fire and got roasted. I've been chained to the clinic for 10 years--take 300mgs of methadone a day now. Last time I tried to quit I nearly had a stroke. I'm just thankful now I only have to go twice a month. And you know it's nothing like I've heard it was back in the 70s or 80s. Hell, it really ain't that different than going anywhere else in America. All walks of life, all of demographics these days. The overwhelming majority people there are just average people that got in a car wreck or broke their back or whatever, and got started down that road. I think I see more nurses there waiting to dose these days than any other group, haha. Almost everyone there had some kind of injury, though.
Sorry I have not been online the last few days. Believe me when I say you would not have wanted me here. Lost my job already and been extremely depressed. I'm gonna start reading again and try to get my mind off things for a while. Plus, my back has been killing me. Chuck, I have a friend who has been going to a methadone clinic now for about seven years. I thought the whole premise behind these clinics was to get people OFF drugs NOT dependent upon methadone for life. I'm glad you don't have to go as often.
Signing off for a bit so I can actually concentrate on reading. I am a REALLY slow reader (about 25 pages an hour). I get distracted easily and if I'm online to number goes down to about 15. I have trouble staying focused. Will sign back in later once I've got some reading done.

Debating on whether I should wake my husband now or later. He's only been home 4 hrs from work but Autozone opens in 20 minutes and my van is broken down at the elementary school. Was going to pick up my 5 yr old from preschool yesterday and while making a turn my power steering went out and I almost went off the road. I used to have a car that didn't have the rack and pinon so the manually steering didn't bother me but then while I was in the pickup line it overheated so I had to park it and have someone come get us. Since Justin had already left for work I couldn't pull it home so its still at the school.
They told the temp company they didn't think it was a good fit for me. I worked my ass off literally. I asked every single day (not constantly), but once a day, if I was doing OK. Every time I was told that I was doing fine. Nobody said anything about me doing something wrong or anything. I would just like to know what I did. How can a person improve if they're not told what they did wrong? I'm just frustrated. Sorry to hear about your vehicle Joycedale. Hopefully your hubby can fix it without it costing too much.

It will Gary. At this point, I have no choice but to try and stay positive. If I don't I will most definitely end up institutionalized and I prefer NOT. My church has been wonderful through this and I have a great family and support from my friends. We WILL make it through this. Thank you for the kind words Gary.

Every time I was ..."They shouldve said something to you. But maybe it was something as stupid as someone didn't like you. My husband was let go from a job after 3 days, they said they decided to just do away with that position. We found out later from a friend its because someone that had been there for yrs didn't like him.
It was really simple to fix, it was the belt for my power steering/water pump. I guess he knew as soon as I told him what had happened. He even pointed out the belt lying in the turn when he was taking me to the school to pick up the van after he had fixed it. He stopped and got it on the way back and from the looks of it I was surprised it had been working at all.
I'm glad it was something pretty simply and it's fixed.

Yes, I asked the representative from the temp agency if it was going to hurt me the fact that I was let go and she said no. They called me yesterday about a job that is supposed to have orientation sometime next week. I'm hopeful, but I'm not gonna get overly excited.
Cindy, I'm so sorry things didn't work out for you. Hope you hear back soon about the other job.
Cindy is there any job you could do that doesn't but any strain on you back what you really need is something where you can be sat down. But would that help with the pain, I don't really know.Joycedale I'm pleased you got you're water heater working again. When mine broke I had to wait for 5 or 6 days. It was bad not being able to shower. Its 10.10am here and my cat is feeling a lot better after her steroid injection but its a hard job getting her to swallow her antibiotics.
It is 5 am and I am still awake. I have had a lot on my plate latetly, especially on the writing front.But it sounds like everyone is suffering their own private hells right now and I know things will get better for all.
On another note, my wife and I watched movies all day, culminating with Steve Martin's Roxanne and it was a great day. My favorite line in that movie happens when Martin has to come up with 20 jokes about his nose. "Keep that man away from my cocaine!" Priceless.
I'm still up too Adam. I got sucked into a book but my moonreader just kicked me off for 2 minutes so I can "rest my eyes"
I've just watched the film The Iceman but didn't think much of it. But I loved 12 years a slave that I saw yesterday. It made me cry though and I want to read it now. Its on my tbr list like so many others.
I just got home from paying what bills I was able to with the money we had. Now I need to relax. Plan on reading the rest of the day (and keep an eye on the Winter Storm approaching).
