Yes, she could, but she doesn't even hint at it being so. And looking at her profile, she has been active on goodreads meanwhile. I was (mostly) joking, once mod is online, I'm sure they'll move it back.

But look I'm not trying to pick fights. I didn't know she's been active in the meantime. But even so its a bit childish to say in a way 'oh since you've wasted our time you can go at the very back of the line' you know what I'm saying? Since that is what I gathered from your comment.
And on that note there isn't much of a time aspect to this group. I mean yes it is very annoying when the OP does not answer and one is left curious but it isn't in the rules (I think) that one has to respond within a certain time frame. Rude, but not obligatory.

I'm just catching up on your recent comments and understand the points being made. Yes, we're cautious about handling secondary requests - can't tell what the situation is here (e.g., librarian, looking for a family member/close friend vs. stranger on a social media site).
FYI. I had already moved this thread to the Unsolved folder. My thinking was simple - if a member indicates they're actively looking for a specific book, then the Unsolved folder seems appropriate. It was a split-second decision. You folks have given the matter more thought. Thanks for that.
Yes, this is an unpaid job. :)

Yes, this is an unpaid job. :)

But no objections to it being in Unsolved.

And yes that is correct Ayshe. I do see this as a job of sorts. This group. I mean, its handled like a business and that is what a moderator is for, to make sure things run smoothly and the group doesn't end up in chaos. I see every group and every moderator in that capacity. Even in simple role play groups. There is a system and a group leader who makes sure things run smoothly.
I mean, here for example, the moderators move threads on a daily basis to their correct folder, help members in search of their book be it by giving directions on how to optimize their thread information or even suggest books.
Of course another person could see it in another light, which is why I specifically said look that's how I see it.
The thing is I don't like seeing people not getting a fair shake because of someone else's personal feelings. I'm guilty of it, and I've been on the blunt end of the stick too. That's the problem with today's society. We need to be better. Do better, live better. We are capable of it but emotions get in the way. And now I'm going very philosophical lol My apologies.
Anyways, I just wanted to explain / clarify.
And I know the moderators of this group do their very best and work hard and I applaud you guys for it. It isn't easy with such a large group with literally hundreds of members asking for books and sometimes having people get emotional along the way and just being plain human and flawed. Keep up the great work, and I shall endeavor to assist whenever I can with threads and requests if I catch them or know what someone is asking for :)
Even if 99% of the time I don't know what people are referring to :P

He's still not bothering to read/follow the rules for posting either. :(
Travis, no one is trying to belittle you. We do have several places on the group's home page where you can get very helpful information about how to post.
There's the group description box at the top of the page.
Then, the READ THIS FIRST post:

Then, the description of the UNSOLVED folder which tells you exactly how to write a post:

Dude chill out, I'm not bashing you but you've already been given suggestions for ways you can fix your thread so it follows the rules, the top listings in the forum are threads with with tips for posting that are meant to HELP you. Ignoring them makes it harder for you to get attention and for people to help solve your book.

I also want to point out that the user named Dawn and her posts are still a mess. She responded however on one thread saying her account got hacked and much of her data was stolen. I just feel like pointing this out, perhaps the moderators have already decided to give this one time?

They seem to be different books.
They seem to be different books.
There's not a whole lot we can do if someone deletes their initial posts (or has them deleted by hackers...), beyond asking them "Did you mean to delete your post?" and "Please don't delete your posts." We generally just leave the threads open in case the OP wants to come back and recreate their initial post to help the thread make some sense. Of course, if the OP leaves the group we would move it to Abandoned. If they delete ALL their posts in the thread, or if hackers delete all their posts in a thread, we would move it to "Now We'll Never Know." Or if the deletion of all their posts in the thread leaves only posts from moderators, we'd probably just delete the thread since it would be nonsensical at that point.

Thanks for answering! I do see now that on a second, more intense glance, the two threads are about different books. Weird that both involve sex tapes but okay, they are not the same, my bad! I just noted the 'sex tape' bit in both and didn't look more carefully.
And alrighty, I see. My main reason for posting about that was just mainly to find out the moderator's take on it. Now I know what the procedure is for future reference.
