This was a cute little gay-for-you story that I enjoyed but wasn't overwhelmed by ... I just couldn't connect with the characters for some reason ... I did like how Justin was a toppy flamer but even this departure from the norm didn't add the wow factor I needed to take me from 'like' to 'love' this story.
U…Unintended – 01/06 – ★★☆
I don't know if it is just me at the moment but I'm finding it really hard to connect with characters ... I found this book irritating as switched from past to present ... the soppiness of the dialogue made my teeth ache ... perhaps I'm premenstrual or something ... this book wasn't good enough to alleviate my grumpiness ... it's nice & fluffy but not what I needed at the time.

N…Nothingness of Ben, The – 02/06 – ★★★★
Oh this was lovely ... I like the fact that the characters were so human & real with faults & frailties ... this was the perfect mix of smex; cuteness; angst; & story ... I loved the snark in the dialogue (internal & actual) ... Ben was a tragic hero & Travis was the perfect anti-hero who's steady regard & support allowed Ben to grow & blossom into his potential ... I enjoyed reading about Ben's character being dragged from an eternal child-hood where he only had to please himself to adulthood where he was allowed to find true happiness rather than despair & sacrifice ... this is a nice, solid, satisfying story ... well worth reading.

This was just too darn short ... there was so much story alluded to that I ended up being frustrated by what was missing which detracted from what was actually there ... if this were written as a novel, given the writing style & characters + plot devices already established, it would probably be a ★★★★+ book.

I- If This Is a Man by Primo Levi, 6/3 ★★★★ I try to read this as my I for Mei, it is not a literally difficult or hard read, but the subject makes it so, this book haunted me, I had to read this slowly and even when not paying attention to it I would get flashes of the book.
