I can't wait for this challenge to start tomorrow. I have all my books lined up and I have the weekend off. So all I am going to do is read! and update of course! :D
I'm also eagerly waiting. Everything is loaded or in a pile, and I have finished my latest book ready for this one to start...
No, we are just competitive.
I am still reading two books with no chance in Hell to finish them before this challenge, but they will wait untill this challenge is over. :)

I had just started a book when I noticed it fit one of the challenges, so I stopped reading it as I was about 10% in. I will carry on with that one tomorrow. The book I read instead was the part in a series between the latest I have read and the one I want to use for this challenge.
Challenges have changed how I read in many ways, but I have also read many books I would never have found otherwise and enjoyed most of them.

It is the same for me. I keep saying that some of my favorite authors I wouldn't have discovered if it wasn't for challenges.
Thanks! I did nothing but reading yesterday. I hardly stopped to eat or sleep. :)
I need the head start because when I am working I hardly have time to read so you'll have plenty of opportunity to catch up.

Lu, I've created the shelf as per your instructions and linked it to the challenge. Do we still have to post updates here or is there some central point that will tell you how many books we have read?
You can :)
Just start making your list here, and update when you finish by either posting in this thread or in the challenge tracker.

Three days, it started on Saturday. I read really fast and had a relatively quiet weekend, then I got sick and spent the whole day on Monday in bed reading. Stuck here for two more days...

Nice!
Do you have a list somewhere? Your planning I mean.

Lu, I think Lindy was replying to my comment about which tasks I had finished, not saying that she had finished those tasks.

I have my finsihed list on My books Mishmash, want it some place else?
I never went to bad last night until 9 am, horrible night.

If you could post them in this thread as well please :)

Oh and no worries this challenge lasts a year, so there is more than enough time to finish it :)
Ha Ha! I was back at work today or else I would have got to 10 books on one week. I'm currently at 8 with another 2 half way each... The medicine I'm on for this Flu doesn't like me sleeping so I spent most of each day and night reading.

If that is the case I have broken that with my first update when I updated 4 books but will make it up with this one.
I haven't had as much time to update and read as I would have liked but I have managed to complete the following tasks: 9,10,11,12,13,18,19,20,21,22,23 and 26.
That brings my total to 16/30

Barbara, you haven't had as much time to read as you would have liked yet you are at 16 books already! I shudder to think how many you would have read... Well done!

Lol, Barbara, you actually seem to be reading MORE now that you have less time! My little update looks so pathetic in comparison.
Thanks guys!
I was lucky that I had a lot of the books already and that they were very easy reads. I have saved the harder ones for the end of the challenge.
Also having less time to read makes me read more, because when I have the time to read I want to use it. If I have more time to read then I am doing other stuff first since I can always read later and then something happens and I don't get to read.
Every book read is an accomplishment so whether it is 1 or more that doesn't matter. Seeing as we're barely 2 weeks in the challenge having completed 2 tasks is ahead of schedule. So you should feel good about that and not compare it to what I have read.

Here you post your Challenge with what you think you are going to read etc. You can edit your post every time your finish something or when you want to add a new idea. No need to repost your whole list the whole time.
If you can't edit, let me know!
You can however just make a post when you are done with a challenge:
"I just finished nr1"
I can then add your points at The Points Thread.
We also have a Suggestions Thread where you can have a look if you need an idea for what book to read, or where you can ask people for help with ideas.
This starts on the 1st of June. You can jump in anytime and use the books you have read from the starting date. I know everyone will be honest :)
A book only counts once and lets keep it above 150 pages please! Audio books are allowed!
If you were before the half of a book when this challenge started you can use it :)
Let the games begin!
