Welcome, Liz, we're so glad you joined our group.

As you get started please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link after all of the text of your post at the bottom of the post. Placement at the bottom of the post calls the reader's attention to the book and/or author and increases the readability of your post. This is how books you mention should look:

So, naturally I'm interested in the history of crime and punishment, the Vikings and I also have a soft spot for the Tudors and Medieval times. I've actually been researching the history of crime and punishment in the small region where I live, and I hope to publish something about it one day!
I'm currently reading about Lady Jane Grey, the 9 days queen.
I hope I can participate in some of your challenges soon!

Marta (xmarta9) | 1 comments Hi!
My name's Marta and I'm a Traslation and Interpreting student in Barcelona currently on my year abroad in Canterbury, UK.
I've always been interested in history, specially about the XIX and XX century. I also enjoy reading historical fiction novels and essays about contemporary history.
Looking forward to learning plenty of new stuff and participate in the discussions.

Jill H. (bucs1960) Welcome Marta. You seem to have many areas of interest which I think you will find here. Just go to the home page and scan the topics.....several will catch your attention.

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you are ready to cite a book. (There is a link on the top right of the reply box.) It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.

This is how a book should look:

Berlin Diary The Journal of a Foreign Correspondent 1934-41 by William L. Shirer by William L. Shirer William L. Shirer

Prasenjit | 1 comments Hello respected members,
My name is Prasenjit Dasgupta, PD, and I live in Ghaziabad, Delhi/ NCR, India.
Since my childhood, I loved History but it was actually nurtured and bloomed when I met Late Mr. B. N. Khanna, my History teacher, at Oak Grove School (1985 to 1991), Mussoorie. To me he remains the best teacher ever.
Thank you Sir!
RIP

Zack956 | 1 comments Hey guys, this is my first group on here. I just turned 21 and have always had a massive interest in history. Im so fascinated by life and I feel as I am growing up in a weird time, all this information out there in 2014 its so hard to pick and choose what I should study next. I am from South Carolina, but have interests of all over the world. GoodReads is a great site I discovered when I was 18. I hope by joining this group I find some more interesting books/topics to cover!

Thanks and hope everyone has a wonderful, powerful week.

Zack
