Hi, I'm Leah. There are a lot of history buffs in my family, so even though I'm more of a science nerd I never neglect to learn more and respect history. Lately I've been combining my interests by reading the history of scientific developments and exploration. However, I also love learning history by location such as the American West (grew up in British Columbia, Colorado and Oklahoma), Central and East Asia, and micro history topics.

I'm glad to be a part of the group. My interest is in learning about many aspects of history and occasionally seeing history in the making. I live in SW Virginia in the USA.
I must confess, this is the most organized group I've ever become a member of! I am Vrixton Phillips, currently in college online pursuing a double major in Literary Studies and History. My interest in history is pretty diverse, including religious history, Indian history, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, the history of math and science, post-colonial Africa, and the list goes on.
I currently live just outside of Atlanta, Georgia in the US.

I tried to contact a moderator, but a password was required. If I use a spoiler while commenting on the new book, how do I refer to a page number on my Kindle since it does not use page numbers, only "locations"? Thanks.

I am told that for some kindles if you hit menu and look at the progress bar...it should have page numbers showing. I am not sure if your Kindle version has that feature. I have also been told that page numbers are not enabled for all books. So you may have to use my technique of going to a hardcopy version on Amazon - peeking inside and looking at the table of contents pages related to the chapters themselves.
Another person on Amazon figured it out this way: (the following is what they said)
a. I figured it out but its time consuming -
1 find the actual amount of pages in the book you are reading
2 find the total number of pages in the book on your kindle
3 divide the number of pages on the kindle and the number of pages in the real book
4 find the page number that you are on your kindle. And divide it by the answer from #3

The Churchill Factor: How One Man Made History by Boris Johnson. I've been a fan of literature on the British Bulldog, but this one made me feel just as intrigued as the first time that I read a book about Churchill. Presumably because Boris Johnson is a Winston-addict such as myself.

Hello everybody!My name is Fausto. I'm originally from the Dominican Republic currently living in Miami. I work as a project manager for a high tech company (Big Data applications/Software).
The vast majority of books I read are non-fiction with a heavy dose of world history. My interest in history came from the need to discover accurate stories of my personal heroes. It was a big wakening when, in my teenage, I discovered that there was substantial documentation on every subject of interest to me. I stopped asking question and started reading. :)
As for this group, I think it will bring focus to my passion for history books. My objective is to read other members views and reviews on the books they read and share my own.
I hope to be a good member and look forward to sharing ideas and opinions with other readers.

Hello. My name is Tom Donegan and I currently reside in Chandler, AZ. I work as a law enforcement officer and in my spare time I like to read, read, and read some more. My favorite books are history. As far as my favorite subject in history, it's hard to say because I constantly go through the different phases. For the past few months it's been WWII, specifically memoirs of ordinary soldiers on both sides. I'm a big fan of American history in general but last year I also went through an ancient history and then a European history phase. I'm glad I found this book club because it's usually not too often that I have the chance to discuss these topics with friends and family. I find a lot of people generally regard history favorably but their interest tends to be superficial. I look forward to participating in this group!-Tom
