Thanks for the excellent introduction, Joshua and you will indeed find many history enthusiasts here with whom to share your thoughts and book recommendations. Why not start with our topic on World History.World History
There are many other folders where you can discuss topics that interest you.
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. (There is a link on the top right of the comment box). It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them.
When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.

Thanks for the note of welcome. My name is Warren Lamb. I'm a freelance writer after many years in the news media and public relations. My main interest now is Christian history, primarily the early church during the time of the Roman Empire. I've written a couple of books, both historical fiction in this genre. I also enjoy more modern history, especially books by David McCullough. I look forward to participating in the group.
Hello, my name is John Curtis. I live in California. My interest in history is based on the realization that the events of the past have effect on the present and the future.

Hello everyone! My name is Ashley and I grew up in Waco, TX, but have lived in Atlanta, GA for the last 16 years. I've been a fan of history all my life. I began reading books primarily on the American Revolution, Texas history, and Native American History. Hello, everyone. My name is Julia. I am a history major in my third year of college in Georgia. I enjoy history from all over the world. I guess my favorite periods are Ancient Greece, pre-colonial Latin America, and Asian history.
My name is Jude Armoogan, I'm currently studying electrical engineering and have NO interest in it. I would really like to study economics or history but im already 24 years old and i want my life to start. I actually only started reading fiction four years ago during a very difficult period. Everything up to that point was history books, autobiographies or diaries(specifically Che Guevara's 'The African Dream'

Hello,My name is Allen and I live in a suburb north of Dallas, Texas. I am interested in the American Civil War and would like to learn what books members might recommend. I would also enjoy discussing Civil War topics.
I very much enjoy reading both fiction and non-fiction books and publications, which probably comprises a good 95% of my preferred reading. Still learning my way around Goodreads and am pleased to have found this group/resource. Thanks very much to the creators/moderators!
So very glad that you have joined us Allen. I know you will find some excellent book recommendations at the Civil War folder......take a look and join right in.American Civil War
