I'm thinking that we can give the top six of the cover challenge choices from our selections, and then do something cool with the other freebies.

How about I post the options onto the challenge thread for those six to choose from? And I guess you can send me in case you're not on when somebody chooses her book.
It's 8:24 pm here, but it's Thursday. My mom is watching American Idol while I'm out in the living room.
I don't pay much attention to the show. My mom says its the top four. Is that what you mean by session?
Don't worry so much about it. It will be back up sometime. It's happened to me a whole bunch, but it always gets back to normal after awhile. Libboo has a lot of glitches.
I've got an idea for the challenge this month (the one where the winner chooses a BOTM). It's a real simple one due to the fact that I don't have a ton of time organize a big one like the Find the Cover Challenge. It requires no reading. By the way, I think its a good idea to keep these kinds of challenges non-reading so more people have a chance of winning. Name: I'm Thinking of a Number Between One and Ten (or something like it)
Inspiration: I thought of it after the May mini challenge was suggested. It's also like the game where you think of a certain number and others have to guess which number it is.
How it works:
-I pick a random number between one and ten, and pick titles of books I've read to spell out that number.
-Others will have to guess the number and pick books from my read shelf (so the choices are limited to a smaller number of books) to spell the number out.
-The person who guesses closest to the number I'm thinking, that is the winner. If its a tie, then it will be determined by which book titles are closest to the ones I used.
Time:
It would be nice to have a winner chosen by the 28th, so the winner's choice for BOTM can be chosen before June begins.
That sounds really good! Your ideas are really awesome. I have 3 questions though. Hahaha sorry.
So when you say spell out, do you mean the first letter of each book?
Will you give clues?
If you do, do you think it might have to more than 1 - 10 perhaps 1 - 20?

Answers to your questions:
-Yeah, I mean the first letter of each title. All books starting with "The" are exempt, so no titles starting with that word will be a part of the challenge.
-I'm not sure if I'll give clues. It depends on how many people actually participate.
-I originally had it be 1-20, but then I changed it to 1-10. I just didn't like all of those "teen" endings.
Plus, I've picked my number through random.org already. I also picked out the YA (no classic or children's books) titles that started with the letters in them, and put them on the list generator (I picked the first one on the list).
Here's an example of how it submissions would look like:
(Since TWELVE isn't a option for a guess, it will be my example.)
T - Touching Darkness by Scott Westerfeld
W - What I Didn't Say by Keary Taylor
E - Eragon by Christopher Paolini
L - Lirael by Garth Nix
V - Virtuosity by Jessica Martinez
E - East by Edith Pattou
I'm wondering the same thing. And I'm wondering what you have in mind to make it more interesting, as you said you would.
Perhaps you could have different themes for example one month it could be that they pick a book that their partner gave 2 or 3 stars to and get them to try reading it again. Or getting them to re-read a favourite or a book they read a long time ago.
Or maybe following our BOTM theme e.g. like this month the theme is angels so they would get their partner to read a book on their too read list that has the theme angels. Or even to get their partner to read a book from their own to-read list and then after their partner has read it, get them to tell if they enjoyed it or not.
Maybe I can help think of themes. On the other group I moderate for, I have posted a personal challenge I have for myself (others have the option to join me). It's a lot like the pick me a book here, but it's for a whole 1-2 weeks per theme. I'm trying to arrange it so that members will choose a series of books for me to read then review from a list or shelf that I post. I'm really hoping it works.
Some themes I have in mind for that are rereading, reading lesser known books, and "Keeping it Real" (AKA Contemporary).
yea I'm a member of the Goodreads feedback group. You have to be a member to use the widget. I could set it up but we need a theme first.
I just thought of something that could go with the pick a book for me challenge. What about a supernatual creature showdown? Each team would get their own creature that their books would feature. Or maybe there could be two creatures and a few teams for both. Either way would work.
I'm going to post information about my number challenge this weekend. Also, I think it would be a good idea to start sorting out the character tournament. Maybe that can be the June challenge where the winner chooses a BOTM.
Sure! We'll need time to get sponsors for the tournament, will the theme be Heroines or Heroes? Then we can set up polls. The winner could be the sponsor of the winning hero/heroine.
Okay. Shall we start asking for ambassadors? Do you think 10 heroines should be represented? Or more/less?
OMG I just check my Libboo dashboard and it said I have 22 freebies! I have no idea how that happened... GIVEAWAY! WOW stumble upon really really really works.
Chelsea wrote: "Okay. Shall we start asking for ambassadors? Do you think 10 heroines should be represented? Or more/less?"We can probably go with 10.
OK. Do you guys want to be an ambassador for any heroines? I think I would like to help set 'stuff' up.
I'm going to set up a giveaway with the freebies I have:6 of

Would any of you like one? Because I think you all deserve it!
Go ahead and set the stuff up, Chelsea. I'm really busy with school right now, so I don't have the time for it. I would love to be an ambassador for a heroine, but I won't pick someone yet. Thanks for the offer, but I don't want one of the freebies (mostly because I own a copy or have read most of the books offered).
:) It's exam time right? I hate to say it but grades are more important than books (sometimes)! So if you are too busy it's totally OK.

here are the links for my books Chelsea if you want to send them thats fine with me the first one is redemption and the second is willow
Elizabeth wrote: "ok I missed something what does it mean to sponsor a heroine"Sorry we didn't explain it very well. This is derived from this blog that does an annual tournament for the best heroine, hero, villian etc.
So what they do is get people (usually bloggers) to 'sponsor' a character i.e. create an character profile name age etc and their features, qualities personality etc. to try and get people to vote for their charcter. If any of this makes sense!
So to sponsor a heroine is to do that. So we'll probally pick 10ish heroines and ask people if they would like to sponsor them.
Here is the link to that website for an example:

Then we'll have polls to narrow down to one heroine!
I've arranged a interview with Vrinda one of our author members but I'm not quite sure how to go about doing it. I was thinking getting members to have some questions maybe like how you did it Kaitlin. Help? :)Also she said she can arrange an ebook giveaway.
