I agree we need to get peoples attention so they know whats going on lots of members haven't made even one comment
ok so I have a thought for a challenge so here's what I'm thinking its buddy reads but the also kind of a see how many you can read for like a month or something and the team that reads the most gets an ebook and we get to pick our teams and the ones we read together would count for double the ones we read separate count for one point what do you all think
That sounds really good, would you like to do that next month or perhaps in july? And yea about half our members haven't made even made a single comment, they are either lurking or joining our group for no reason, it's really sad but I know many groups are in the same boat as us. Maybe we could use the challenges and prizes to entice members to join in.
I don't have any right now but I am buzzing a bunch of books for next week so I'll see what I get then and next month will work I will put the challenge up at the end of the month
Hey, Travis, the author of
has offered/requested a giveaway to celebrate the third book in his series being published. Here is what he has offered:Just for entering the drawing, contestants can receive 1 free e-copy of the first novel, Beyond the Plains, if they'd like to have it. Five lucky people get either a paper or e-copy (their choice) of both #1 & #2, The Forest of Angor, and 1 lucky person gets either a paper or e-copy of all three novels.
This giveaway will probably happen in a few weeks.
That would be cool.Actually, the giveaway I mentioned is going to be set up now. Travis got things going with his third book much sooner than he thought he would.
ok I have the four books that are in the seeds of discovery series and I was thinking they would be a great prize for something any Ideas
Our polls have ended! We have a bunch of ties, though. For fairytale retelling, both
and
received seven votes.For General BOTM,
each received seven points. Seven seems to be our lucky number this month, huh?
Jojiwoji was our winner of the I'm thinking of a number challenge, and I just sent her a message telling her that she gets to choose a book to read for June.
I just had a thought you know how we have the where in the world are you what if we added something about school mascots alot of the members are in school or have a mascot from when they went to school what does everyone think
Hey, can any of you think of a non-reading challenge (like the book cover one was) that we could do next month?
Ok this is just off the top of my head but how about a character word scramble I'll think some more on it to
I just thought of something. But I think we can blend yoir idea with it. It would be called either bachelor auction or mystery man or something similar. Whatever it is, it's all about the men of the books.
For each clue, I would give a list of characteristics, likes, dislikes, and maybe a few letters of his name.
Hey I got all four books in the series from seeds of discovery can you think of a good way to give them away
I probably will. I won't start working on it until next week, which is my last week of the school year.
I think that for the General BOTM we should pick TUOMD because we have read all that much contemporary. And as for the themed? I'm not sure. Jenny what should we read?
We should definitely read tuomd. Though I don't really comsider it a contemporary, though it may seem like it at times.(By the way, my definition of contemporary means there is nothing paranormal or otherworldly about it.)
ohhh sorry I am not really familiar with tuomd. BTW I won't be on 2nite or 2morrow and half of the day after as I am doing the 40hour famine. Which is fundraising for the people of Papua New Guinea. Basically I'm giving up internet, cell phone and funiture for 40 hours. And I get people to sponsor me. All money goes to the less fortunate peple of Papua New Guinea! Anyways my school is doing it. Sorry, I will try to set up the BOTMs in the nxt 1/2 hour though.
It's not just you. It happened a few days ago. I noticed on my iPod that a bunch of threads had been edited on many of the groups I'm in (which makes "unread" on my app). Then I noticed that those edits were actually deleted comments, and that most, of not all, of her comments have been taken off the groups. She also moderated a small music group on goodreads, but there wasn't a mod at all when I checked last. I find it really weird that her comments are deleted. I've seen people disappear off of goodreads before, but all their comments stayed.
Hey, I want to get that bachelor non-reading challenge started this week. However, I haven't done much for it. Can I get some help with creating some of the clues?
