My challenge book count was out - had me reading more books than I had but when you went and clicked on the list it showed the correct amount of books. Sent email to Goodreads. There is/was a glitch where when you select finished it may on the odd occasion finish you multiple times. So it had one of my books as having been read four times. All I had to do was delete the 3 extra finished lines and it brought it back to the right number.

So if your challenge says you've read 10 and you've only read 4 - just check to see if it has added any extra reads to any of them and delete them. (go into edit review and you'll see the dates there - just delete the extra date lines - not the whole record)

I've got some excellent news! I was having two problems, one was with my shelves, the other with a book catalogue I use along with GR.
I had about 6 duplicate/additional shelves that showed up out of nowhere. The original ones wouldn't edit or anything.
I did go to the help link you gave me, Brenda, but it wasn't much help.
So I decided to move all books to the shelves that GR created and delete the original ones. I had to do it a few times but I did it!! All shelves are correct and work perfectly. The book catalogue app is easier to use for me and works along with GR. Since I fixed my shelves, I've had no more problems with it! I like having the catalogue because if something happens to GR, I've got a complete back up. So some good news for a change. I'm once again a happy clam!

Thought I'd let everyone know - there's a known bug where you can't use the "add book/author" while PMing at the moment. I discovered it a little while ago, and still couldn't this morning, so checked the Feedback group. It's been a problem since early February :)

Just in case anyone else has noticed :)

I noticed that several times lately. I found that if I back out of the thread completely, say to my profile page then go back and try it again it usually works. Glad to know it's not just me! =o)

I've found that only happens if I've gone from "want to read" to "read". If I have "currently reading", then "read" the date appears :)

Yes, Valerie, it is happening with mine too. Especially when I mark a new book as "want to read."
If I don't manually edit it it shows that I've read it and am reading it the second time. I have to go down and delete the read (which doesn't show any date) and delete the x
Then it shows correctly as only "want-to-read"

Very annoying and I just recently noticed that it's been doing that so who knows how many are incorrect. I just fix them as they come up. *sigh*

So as a note to all here in the group ~ if I've read the book there will be at least a star rating and most recent books within the past year should all have a review.
If either of those are missing I have not read the book. =o)

Yes mine are too - but if you click on them, your books are there :) They're doing maintenance and warned it could happen :)

My expectation is that they'll do an update and it will be fixed. I suspect their codebase for the site is a little fragile. I.e. update/fix one thing and break another.

Which also suggests a lack of capacity to do effective regression testing to ensure everything still works before deploying new code into production.

Ummm.... mine is almost all zeros, too. I have -5 in my challenges shelf! I am very glad I run an app on my devices that has all my books in a library. Hope they do fix it nevertheless.

Interesting that was almost 12 months ago and same security issues...

I actually have the URL to the AWW badge in my profile "about me" section of the form, but can see that now there's a red printed message saying you can't add a URL now.

I hope nobody tries to become Ace. Flattering but frightening consequences.
