Where else would we go? GR is by far the best site, user friendly, lots of discussion sites etc.
I disagree a bit there Bette. If no one complains then nothing is ever going to change. Maybe if enough people complain something might happen:)

OMG!!! It has definitely changed and very recently!! When I tried to create a new account, they said I already had my email address showing up....I used the same password as with the US site too!!! Thanks Leonie!!

That's interesting. My copy is fine.

I've resisted changing to AU even though Amazon keeps asking and glad I did.

I was notified recently that one of my reviews has been plagiarized - there is apparently a huge amount of it happening across Goodreads, so when I found this thread in the Feedback group, I thought all of our members should be made aware of it. It may or may not affect you all, but at least you can read through all the posts if you want. Goodreads staff and support are onto it as well...

Oh - wait a minute that's me!
Phew - the only version it found was my own - so I checked another one - this time two people had done it - that old sally906 on goodreads again and now a blog called books and musings from downunder!!!
Oh wait a minutes - thats me too!!! Double phew!!!
On a serious note - it does happen - I have an alarm on my Wordpress blog if someone tries to steal content electronically.
I did have one of my reviews posted on an e-book site without permission - and it did link back to me but posted a comment asking it to be removed.
The thing is - if I am doing a review for a publisher or author I always ask them if there is anywhere else they want the review posted other than here, my blog and amazon. So why people think it is alright to swipe people's reviews is beyond me.
At least good reads is looking into it though, in the thread that Brenda linked to Goodreads responds:
"...we've definitely confirmed that the sites mentioned in this thread are illegally scraping our content. Our team is going to look into this further. We really, really appreciate you bringing this to our attention..."

It is going to change, MaryG2E, but mine hasn't yet. If you are interested (or if anyone else is), you can check it out here (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...) and leave feedback in the survey, although they did say in one of the posts that they wouldn't be making great changes from the new design that they've floated so I'm not sure how much feedback will be taken on board.
I didn't think they were going to roll it out across the board for a couple more weeks though...
Thanks Kathryn:) I appreciated that link as I hadn't known anything about it. I actually just did their survey with the new set up and really like it. It's much easier to navigate I think, in the short look at it I had.

I think there's good and bad. I'm not that fussed about it, and I couldn't see what is wrong with the current navigation, but I suppose I'll get used to it! The main problem at the moment for me is that when you mouseover the notifications, when the threads are revealed, it doesn't say which are the threads with new messages... So hopefully they'll fix that :-)

Mine hadn't changed and now in the last 15 minutes it has - after I did the survey coincidentally enough!
But I like it other than being able to find the Home button, which I commented on in the survey. There doesn't appear to be one, so how do we get to our feeds?

Yes - apparently that's intuitive with most websites having a clickable logo... It does take a bit of getting used to when you've been happily clicking the "Home" button for years!
LOL! It does, but it seems easy - and I love both the Browse button and the Community one! Great ideas IMHO! And the brightness of the numbers over the Notifications/Inbox/Friends Request icons:)

You've got to click on the link for the survey, Laura...
And actually, you don't need to do the survey, but you do need to click the "Next" button to get to the page where you can click the link to open a new tab with the new navigation. And it seems to last until the next day (something to do with the cookies and how long they last apparently), unless you click on the link in the first post to take you back to the current navigation.

Isn't it funny how we're all different - I feel like the whole thing doesn't look brighter, but looks more washed out than the current set-up! And I could take or leave the big drop-down menus when you accidentally move your mouse over "Browse" or "Community"! But like I say, it still works OK and I'll get used to it, I'm sure...

Oh, I see - I think if you had a current tab/window open it would stay with the current/old setup, because your new navigation setup opens in a new tab/window, but then if you click a link in the tab with the current/old setup, it will open with the new setup. Does that make sense??!

Yes I think so! LOL Perhaps it'll be back to the old way again tomorrow???
