Jason knew Piper hated her mother for being the goddess of beauty, and that she tried to hide it, but he didn't think that made her any less beautiful. She was dressed in his old t-shirt and torn blue jeans. Up the right side of her face was covered in blood, her eyes wild. Jason reached up and softly touched the side of her face.
"What happened, Pipes?" he asked softly.
"Jason," she begged. "You have to leave, now, please!"
He didn't move from the spot he stood. "Who did this to you?" he demanded.
Tears sprung in her eyes. "Jaso-"
"Who DID THIS TO YOU?" he yelled.
Piper looked around nervously, as though afraid he might have awoken someone. Jason grabbed her chin and forced her to look at him. He swallowed his anger and inspected her face. Her jaw had been cut open by something sharp, the blood seeping out of it. All along the edge of her face were places where someone had punched her, hard enough to make a bruise. Her nose was definitely broken, and blood was seeping out of it like an open wound. Her eye was rimmed with black and blue bruises. Jason felt himself getting angry.
"Jason, please, you have to get out of here," Piper begged. "Who knows when she is coming."
"When who is coming?" Jason asked, tense.
"Her. She is the one who did this to me. She tortured me and tried to make me her slave, but I wouldn't do it, and now you are in danger because of me."
"She did this to you?" Jason was on the edge of starting to yell. "Whoever hurt you like this is going to pay."
Piper looked at him. "How much do you like me, Jason?"
He blinked. "What kind of question is that?"
"Just answer it."
Jason swallowed. "I like you... a whole lot, Pipes."
She looked at him sadly. "That's what I thought," she said.
"Do you not want me to like you?" Jason demanded. "Do you not like me?"
"Oh, yeah." Piper looked nervously at the ground. "I like you. A lot. More than a lot actually."
"Then what is the matter?" Jason demanded.
"You can''t like me anymore," Piper whispered.
"What?" Jason fell back.
"If you like me, she can use me for bait. She could threaten to kill me unless you help her, and that would just danger everyone."
"I don't care who she is. I like you and I'm not going to let anything happen to you." To prove his point, he stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her. She buried her face in his shoulder, and he moved his hands comfortingly through her hair.
"How much do you like me, Jason? Do you love me?"
Jason thought about this. He would do anything to save Piper if he needed to, and even sacrifice his life for her. She was beautiful and kind, and just Piper. He wanted them to be more than friends, that was true. But did he love her?
"Yes," he whispered.
She shuddered and stepped out of his arms. "Then I have to leave, now." She backed away from him and started running. Jason ran after her, through a maze of leaves and flowers, kicking the dirt up behind him. She ran faster, but tumbled down when she tripped on a rock. Jason surged forward and caught her, holding her securely in his arms. She twisted away from him, but his hold was firm. "LET ME GO!!!!" she screamed, biting his arm.
"Piper, I'm sorry. So sorry, I didn't know you don't like me and want me to love you," Jason explained.
Piper was sobbing uncontrolably. "Please, that isn't why I'm running, Jason, let me go, please please please let me go-" her voice cracked. Jason rocked her back and forth, stroking her hair and wiping away her tears. When he softened his hold on her, Piper ran away again, into a clearing. Jason ran after her, and then stopped short. A lady with green eyes dressed in a black dress had Piper. And she was holding a knife to her neck.
Jason had his eyes in horror locked on Piper. His whole world seemed to be frozen.
"No," he said, sounding like a strangled animal.
"No, please, let her go."
"Jason, run-" Piper choked.
Jason's eyes flashed to the woman holding the dagger in absolute hatred. "Who are you? Are you the one who hurt Piper?"
"Why yes," said the woman, amused.
Jason was seething with rage. "Why? What do you want?"
"I knew you had strong feelings for this girl," replied the woman. "I wanted to hurt her and send her to find you, in hopes that you would be worried for her sake and come into my trap."
Piper took a staggering breath, trying to speak through the knife at her throat. "So.... sorry..... didn't want....... bring you.......... tried to...... warn....." she gasped in pain and fell silent.
Jason looked at her in pain. "Please," he said brokenly, "just let her go. I will do whatever you want, just let her go."
Piper's eyes flew open in panic. She tried to shake her head. Jason couldn't meet her eyes.
The woman grinned triumphantly. "Thank you for your cooperation, son of Jupiter."
Jason glared at her. "I currently use Zeus," he spit.
"Or I'm-about-to-kill-you-for-hurting-my-girlfriend."
Piper cracked a smile at that, despite everything. Jason never looked better than he did right then, covered in her blood with a face ful of dirt. "Jason," she said hoarsely.
His eyes snapped to her face. "Yeah?"
"I love you too, you know."
He grinned, and then turned back to the woman. "Okay, lady. I will do whatever you want, but you gotta let go of her." He pointed at Piper, who would have protested if not for the knife that was pointed at her throat.
"On the contrary," said the lady, "Both of you require no further use to me. Have you ever heard of Romeo and Julliet?" she asked, releasing Piper, whose hands went to her throat, gagging. "It is quite an interesting story, really." Jason had started to go to Piper, but the lady raised her hand and he slammed backward into a tree. She pulled a gun out of her pocket, and Jason watched it with fearful eyes. She aimed it, not at him, but at Piper.
Everything happened in slow motion.
She pulled the trigger.
Jason jumped up from where he was and dove in front of Piper.
The bullet hit him in the chest.
Jason groaned, the pain hitting him like spreading fire. Piper was screaming something, but all Jason could hear was the lady in front of him.
"Jason Grace," she whispered. "This is all a dream, and has not happened yet. But it will in the future, and both of you will die, just like Romeo and Julliet. But this story will happen just a little quicker.
"What did you do?" said Jason.
The lady cackled. "When you wake up, you will find your precious girlfriend to be gone."
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HER?"
"Nothing," said the lady, "yet."
"WHERE IS SHE?" Jason screamed.
"You will find her, because you will know where to find me."
"Who are you?" Jason demanded.
The lady smiled. "My name is Mania." Then the dream disappeared and Jason woke up.

"Rachel Elizabeth Dare." Nico tried again. "It is not your fault I gave up my powers."
(That's a long post. I'll read t letter!!)
(Oh ya. That. Stupid autocorrect))

"Percy is over here too you know. And I wasn't the one to fall in first, di Angelo," Percy said, his arm around Annabeth who was shuddering. Percy's first impressions of Tartarus: dark, dark, dark and dark. Oh, and surprisingly hot for a place under the equator, Percy thought.

"Aren't we supposed to be, you know, dead?" asked Percy.
"We are," said Nico, "but something isn't right with the Underworld right now.

told u guys that would be the longest post ever lol. was i right?

(Yeah but it was awesome!)

"You can still detect things awry in the Underworld? I thought Mania took your powers?" Annabeth asked, her face in her knees.
(I think it's after the whole HoO series because Jason has his memory, the Doors of Death are presumably closed and they know of the Romans. Do they know they've already been in this situation? I don't know)
Percy did a sarcastic 360 degree scan.
"Blackness all around. Now what, Wise Girl?"
"You know what I meant, Seaweed Brain."

Percy started to laugh but then abruptly stopped.
"Whats wrong?" Annabeth asked
"Somethings coming"
and then with no warning the world exploded
(first post :))

A rock fell on Nico's back and his spine made a cracking sound. He groaned.

Through the falling rocks and debris a huge looming shadow could be seen approaching

Mania sat upon a huge half furry half scaled creature she looked both terrifying and strangely magnificent perched upon her beast.

Percy shielded Annabeth, crouching protectively over her. "Leave us alone," he snarled.

(thanks so are you :))
Mania only laughed. She dismounted on her creature - it looked like a cross between a dragon and a satyr to Percy... that poor creature being worked to possibly death by Mania - and floated over to them on a red cloud.

"Percy, what's going-" Annabeth's voice was muffled in his body.
"Annabeth, please shut up."

"What are you doing in Tarturus? no one can get in here unless they are thrown in as punishment or out of spite."
Without waiting for Percy to get of her, Annabeth took matters into her own hands. She shoved Percy, who luckily only had a couple inches on her, and turned to face Mania.

(heyy :) and i just finished reading it and loved it :D)

"Don't you dare!!!" yelled Percy
but he was too late Annabeth had already begun to scream

She struggled to get away.
"Percy, you idiot, get OFF me she will hurt you!"
(I like it :))
"I'm merely showing Annabeth her greatest fear," Mania purred. "Your probably wondering why I'm here, young demigods. I want something and, if you cooperate, you might be able to get out of here in one piece.
