2013 March Pick It For Me! Challenge

Yay! You did such a great job this month, can't wait to see what you've got for me for March :)

Red Gabriel's Inferno - Not that I read M/F too much, but I enjoyed this one when I read it.
Orange The One That Got Away Great Friends-to-lovers, GFY.
Yellow Ethan, Who Loved Carter (the cover is close enough to yellow ;)) Very sweet story.
Green Zero at the Bone it takes a bit to get used the the way D talks, but once you do the story is worth it.
Blue Life Lessons - I put this one off for.ev.er and I was so sorry I did when I finally read it. Love this couple and love Kaje's storytelling.
Indigo The Flesh Cartel #1: Capture - Very very dark, but oh so good. It isn't a feel good book by any stretch of the imagination, but it is well worth the read. Warning, you will get hooked.
Violet The Strongest Shape - one of my favorite Menage books
RAINBOW Making Promises - Haven't read this one, but I adored the first one in the series and you can't go wrong with Amy Lane

Red:
Wicked Ties by Shayla Black
Orange:
Bad Boys Do by Victoria Dahl
Yellow (Summer):
Things I Can't Forget by Miranda Kenneally
Green:
Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers
Blue:
The Bride and the Beast by Teresa Medeiros
Indigo (Dark and Suspense):
House Rules by Chloe Neill
Violet (Winter):
Small Town Christmas by Jill Shalvis
Rainbow:
Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison

No kidding! With LL not far behind!

Red Gabriel's Inferno - Not that I read M/F too much, but I enjoyed this one when I read it.
Orange The One That Got Away Great Friends-to-lovers, GFY.
Yellow E..."
Wow, you're quick! I've been putting off both Ethan, Who Loved Carter and Life Lessons for far too long, so those are at the top of my list, but several others look interesting too, so hopefully I'll have time at the end of the month to get through a few more. Thanks for the great picks!

Hope you like my recs.
Red: Steamy Book - Wicked Ties - and the cover is red!
Orange: Dragonfly in Amber - you read the first one and this serie is wonderful!
Yellow: Swept off Her Feet - haven´t read this one, but loved the blurb!
Green: The Weight of Water
Blue: The Fault in Our Stars - I have this one in my TRB too. If you want we can do a buddy read.
Indigo: Suspenseful book: Stolen - I just loved this book!
Violet: Set in winter (Christmas) - Her Miracle Man - this is a really beautiful story!
Rainbow: LGBT Book: The Nothingness of Ben - this book is so beautiful!
If you want me to change any of the recs, let me know.
Happy reading;

Thanks! I think I will read House Rules and Bad Boys Do.

Wow! Your TBR pile is ginormous and full of great books. I ended up adding a bunch to my TBR pile. I had a great time poking around. I'll probably go back again, in case I missed something good.
Red (Steamy): Taking it Home by Jaymie Holland
Orange (autumn): Moon Called by Patricia Briggs
Yellow (Author's name): The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff
Green (Author's name): Soulless by Gail Carriger
Blue (cover): Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning- my favorite series ever.
Indigo (suspense): Naked in Death by J.D. Robb- inspired by the sorting question

2013 March PIFM Challenge - Picking Rules
In a lot of places, March is a rainy month. After a long winter, that can be downright depressing! But what will brighten up anyone's world is a rainbow!
This month our PIFM challenge is going to revolve around the colors of the rainbow - Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet! For each color you will be picking a book or author that starts with the same letter as the color, has a cover that is primarily that color or one that fits a theme suggested by the color. Please make sure at least half your picks come from your pickee's to-read or other unread shelf!
RED - Select a book with a red cover or one whose title or author begins with R. Or suggest a steamy book.
Night Pleasures (Dark-Hunter #2) by Sherrilyn Kenyon or
Catching Fire (The Hunger Games #2) by Suzanne Collins or
I Am Half Sick Of Shadows(Flavia De Luce, #4)
Bradley, Alan
ORANGE - Select a book with a orange cover or one whose title or author begins with O. Or recommend a book set primarily in autumn.
The Shoemaker's Wife by Adriana Trigiani or
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks Skloot, Rebecca or
Flawless (Pretty Little Liars, #2) Shepard, Sara
YELLOW - Select a book with a yellow cover or one whose title or author begins with Y. Or pick a book set during summertime.
The Help Stockett, Kathryn or
Pretty Little Liars (Pretty Little Liars, #1)
Shepard, Sara or
A Red Herring Without Mustard (Flavia de Luce, #3)
Bradley, Alan
GREEN - Select a book with a green cover or one whose title or author begins with G. Or suggest a book with an outdoor theme.
A Dog's Journey (A Dog's Purpose #2) by W. Bruce Cameron or
If You Could See Me Now Ahern, Cecelia or
The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie (Flavia de Luce, #1) Bradley, Alan
BLUE - Select a book with a blue cover or one whose title or author begins with R. Or pick a book that has something to do with water.
Mini Shopaholic (Shopaholic #6) by Sophie Kinsella or
Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3) Collins, Suzanne or
The Shadowy Horses Kearsley, Susanna
INDIGO - Select a book with an indigo cover or one whose title or author begins with I. Or recommend a dark or suspenseful book.
A Discovery of Witches (All Souls #1) by Deborah Harkness or
The Lake of Dreams Edwards, Kim
VIOLET - Select a book with a violet cover or one whose title or author begins with V. Snow in moonlight is a beautiful shade of violet, so you could also pick a book set during the winter.
The Charm Bracelet by Melissa Hill or
The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag (Flavia de Luce, #2) Bradley, Alan
RAINBOW - Select a book with at least three colors of the rainbow on the cover or one whose title or author begins with any letter in RAINBOW. Or pick a LGBT book.
Breaking Newsby Fern Michaels or
His Wicked Embrace by Adrienne Basso

I'll try to get you in with the repicks if I can, let me know if you still want to!"

INDIGO

VIOLET

RAINBOW:

RED - Cowgirl Up and Ride (Rough Riders series#3) by Lorelei James (steamy book)
ORANGE - Anyone But You by Jennifer Crusie
YELLOW - Angels' Blood - Nalini Singh (it's time to start this series, since you are almost over with Psy-Changelling)
GREEN - Extreme Exposure or Exclusively Yours
BLUE - My One and Only by Kristan Higgins
INDIGO -The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead
VIOLET - Dying to Please by Linda Howard
RAINBOW - Honey Moon by Susan Elisabeth Phillips or Cut & Run (LGBT)by Abigail Roux
I haven't read Cut and Run and The indigo spell,so if you're interested in a buddy read let me know!

I seem to be reading mostly PNR, UF and cozy mysteries lately, so I hope I do ok on these recs. If you need more, let me know.
Red Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec, I've heard good things about this and enjoyed the kindle sample, so I'd even be willing to do this as a buddy read if you want.
Orange You put book 1 as one of your favorites, so you need to see what happens next - Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
Yellow The Corset Diaries by Katie MacAlister is a fun book taking place while filming a reality tv show set in historical times. Or you can enjoy and interesting chase with Hot by Julia Harper (this has the sweetest Great Dane puppy).
Green Delicious by Susan Mallery has an Penny coming back to her ex's restaurant to help save it.
Blue This was a no-brainer once I saw it on your pick-if-for-me shelf - Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie is one of my all-time favorites, although you might crave Italian food and doughnuts while reading.
Indigo Open Season by Linda Howard is a good suspenseful romance or Mystery Man by Kristin Ashley, although you may want to hit the hero for 3/4s of the book (uber-Alpha).
Violet
Dangerous by Amanda Quick. I love her historicals because her heroines are always originals with a brain and the heroes always appreciate that about them.
Rainbow Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison, you don't have a lot of PNR, but this is one of the best.
And this doesn't fit anywhere, but I thought you might like it Enchanted, Inc. by Shanna Swedson is chic-lit paranormal where the heroine is special because she has no magic.

Picking books for you was a challenge considering I've only read 6 books out of the 926 books in your TBR. So I decided to give you a mixture of genres and selected most of my picks from your TBR. Hopefully you'll find something you like. : )
Red(steamy)

Orange (autumn)

Yellow (summertime)

Green (outdoors)

Blue (water)

Indigo (dark/suspenseful)

Violet (Winter)

Rainbow (LGBT)

Happy reading!

I hope you like some of the picks. We had a lot of books in common and I wanted to find some that you haven't read before in addition to recommending books on your TBR that I thought were great. Please let me know if you don't see something that you like.
Red: Bloodfever by Karen Marie Moning
Down to You by M. Leighton - I have not read this book, but I have heard there are definitely some steamy hot scenes in this book.
Orange: Angels' Blood by Nalini Singh
Yellow: High Noon by Nora Roberts
Shadow's Claim by Kresley Cole
Green: Phantom Evil by Heather Graham
Blue: Captured by Moonlight by Nancy Gideon. You rated the previous book very well, so I thought I would include this one in your list.
Divergent by Veronica Roth - This was one of my favorite books that I read last year.
Delirium by Lauren Oliver - This is another one of my favorites. It starts a little slow but picks up towards the end. The second book is even better than the first.
Indigo: Ione, Larissa - Desire Unchained
Violet: Run the Risk by Lori Foster
Dead Reckoning by Charlaine Harris
Rainbow: Adrian, Lara - Kiss of Midnight
Richelle Mead - Vampire Academy

RED
(steamy) Arouse - I plan on reading it this month. So, I'm available for a buddy read on this!
ORANGE
(cover) Gunmetal Magic - while it's a companion novel to the Kate Daniels series, it's an ABSOLUTELY MUST READ
(autumn) It Happened One Autumn - My fave book of the series!
YELLOW
(summer) One Summer - an oldie but a goodie
GREEN
(outdoor) Exclusively Yours - nice read. The plot is set at a campsite.
BLUE
(cover) Jinx - cute, fun read
Second Grave on the Left - omgosh you have to continue this series!
INDIGO
(dark/suspenseful) To Die For - suspenseful AND hilarious
Unholy Ghosts - I don't normally recommend this, even though it's one of my favorite series ever, because it's not for the faint of heart. It certainly takes some getting used to, but in the end, it's incredibly worth the effort! hands down my 2nd favorite UF series (after Kate Daniels)
VIOLET
(winter) The Iron Daughter - much of this is set in the Unseelie Winter court. Not my fave of the series but needs to be read to get to the awesomeness of book 4.
RAINBOW
(cover) Prince Charming - I love all things Garwood.
(lgbt) Cut & Run - I think everyone will be reading this for March. :)

Ok, here are my picks for you. I didn't include any m/f, but can go back and choose some if you'd like. :) Hope you find something you'll enjoy!
Red:
The Archer - My favorite m/m, EVER. Action!
Truth in the Dark - Fairy tale
Orange:
Outfield Menace - Coming of age
Take My Picture - Funny contemporary
Yellow:
Yakuza Pride - Yakuza kinda says it all, right?
Almost Like Being in Love - I bought the paperback for this. A lot of people have said the ebook just doesn't do the format any favors. It's an epistolary novel.
Green:
Gaven - Dubcon/Fantasy
Lee's Story - Light BDSM and my favorite of this series.
Blue:
Aaron - ...you've read Enlightened, right?
The Ghost on My Couch - Funny Paranormal
Indigo:
Dreamlands - Fantasy
A Red-Tainted Silence - ANGST/Rockers
Violet:
The Visionary: Welcome to the Fold - Paranormal
Dance With Me - Contemporary
Rainbow:
Latakia - Military - My #1 recommendation of the bunch! I just read this a couple weeks ago and I loved it.
Tigers and Devils - Athlete

It was so much fun going through your lists because we have very similar tastes. In fact, a couple of times I had to check to make sure I was still in your list instead of my own! (Although a lot of the books on y our TBR that I have read I don't have listed on GR because they were awhile ago). If you can't find anything here, or want me to add more titles, please let me know. It was almost too easy to find great titles for you that I could rave about, so I can find many more if you would like me to.
RED – Notorious Nineteen by Janet Evanovich – I saw you have read the others and thought you might want to continue. The cover is definitely red! Can’t Stand the Heat by Louisa Edwards – This has red lettering on the cover but also fulfils the ‘steamy’ book suggestion. If you are in the mood for a classic, the new edition of Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier has a great red cover.
ORANGE – Harvest – Tess Gerritsen – This has orange on the cover, or at least the one on your TBR list does. Also from your TBR, I Am Number Four by Lore, Frey, and Hughes – More orange on the cover
YELLOW - Lemonade Mouth by Mark Peter Hughes – I see that you read a lot of YA fiction and this one is good. Maisie Dobbs by Winspear – I really enjoy this series, and this is the first one. The edition in your TBR has a sort of yellow on it.
GREEN – Clan of the Cave Bear – by Jean Auel – This is a very good series that I have enjoyed reading. Again, the edition on your TBR has a green cover. Chasing Jordan by Miranda Keneally – Lots of green plus much of it takes place on a football field with even more green.
BLUE – The Book of Summers by Hall – Looking through your ‘Read’ list, I saw several similar types that you gave five stars to, so I thought you might like it. French Lessons by Ellen Sussman – I noticed you like a lot of books set in France, and as do I, having been a former French teacher. I thought you might like this one, which I enjoyed. The cover has pink behind blue letters.
INDIGO - Criss Cross by Perkins - another YA book that I really enjoyed, with shades of indigo on the cover. The View From the Top by Hillary Frank – Also YA and a very good read. Shades of indigo on this cover, too.
VIOLET – From your TBR, The Wildest Heart by Rosemary Rogers. I have read all of hers and loved every one. This one has a lovely shade of violet. Another one, with both a violet cover and a GREAT French setting, also from your TBR, is Chocolat by Joanne Harris.
RAINBOW - Chasing Daisy by Paige Toon has several shades of the rainbow on it, and is a fun, light read. From your TBR, The Perfect Wife by Lynsay Sands has lots of colors of the rainbow on the cover.
Happy reading!

Red: Desire Unchained (Steamy + Cover)
Orange: On the Edge (Title Stars with letter O + Cover)
Yellow: The Sun Witch (Cover, not from your shelf. One I've read and really enjoyed)
Green: The Best Man (Set outdoors in a vineyard + cover)
Blue: Love, Come to Me (Cover + water connection from the blurb "Heath Rayne pulled lovely young Lucinda Caldwell from a winter river" :P)
Indigo: Blood and Loss (Cover)
Violet: Hunting Ground (Cover)
Rainbow: Cut & Run (LGBT)

I'm glad you liked the picks. You will enjoy

I enjoyed going through your bookshelves and saw quite a few things that I want to look at a little more in depth later. This was a bit of a challenge because although we read a lot of the same types of books, within those genres our tastes seem to be quite different. I tried to give you a wide variety so hopefully you will find something that interests you. For the most part, I tried to give you a book from your TBR and a book either from your to-buy shelf or something totally new.
RED - Select a book with a red cover or one whose title or author begins with R. Or suggest a steamy book. Cowboy Casanova – can’t get much steamier than those McKay cousins, or Three to Ride – more sexy cowboys!
ORANGE - Select a book with a orange cover or one whose title or author begins with O. Or recommend a book set primarily in autumn. On Dublin Street – I read this a couple of months ago and thought it really lived up to all the hype it has been getting, or How to Drive a Dragon Crazy (well, the cover is sort of orange…) it looks like you loved the rest of the series, so why not continue with it?
YELLOW - Select a book with a yellow cover or one whose title or author begins with Y. Or pick a book set during summertime. The Perfect Play – set in the summer, it’s a yummy book with an even yummier cover. Or, Candy Man – it looks like you enjoyed the first book in this series so maybe it’s time to get back to it.
GREEN - Select a book with a green cover or one whose title or author begins with G. Or suggest a book with an outdoor theme. Storm's Heart – not quite as good as the first book in the series, but still very good. Or, Offside – I’ve grown to love m/m sports romance, and this one looks really good.
BLUE - Select a book with a blue cover or one whose title or author begins with B. Or pick a book that has something to do with water. I Love You, Asshole! – the second book in the series, and it looked like you enjoyed the first one. Fifteen Shades of Gay – really good story…way, WAY better than the title and cover indicate.
INDIGO - Select a book with an indigo cover or one whose title or author begins with I. Or recommend a dark or suspenseful book. Passion Unleashed – I loved this series! You started it a long time ago, maybe it’s time to continue with it. Or, Naked in Death – the first book isn’t the best in the series but it is good, and introduces you to the wonderful world of Roarke!
VIOLET - Select a book with a violet cover or one whose title or author begins with V. Snow in moonlight is a beautiful shade of violet, so you could also pick a book set during the winter. When Beauty Tamed the Beast – I love this entire series, but I think this is the best so far. Or, And To All A Good Night – you read the book before and after this one, don’t you want to read this one, too? ;)
RAINBOW - Select a book with at least three colors of the rainbow on the cover or one whose title or author begins with any letter in RAINBOW. Or pick a LGBT book. A Reason To Believe – I haven’t read this yet but it sounds interesting and it’s the m/m buddy read choice for next month. Dine & Dash – I couldn’t let this go without at least a little bit of Ty & Zane!
I hope you can find something here that you like, if not let me know and I’ll dive in and try again!
