Duchess Nicole Netflix says:
Episode 1 - 51 minutes
Episode 2 - 51 minutes
Episode 3 - 51 minutes
Episode 4 - 52 minutes

Duchess Nicole I'm assuming that the differences are likely with introductions/credits/and other production differences. Maybe Netflix only counts the actual film time or something.

Cathy M. Hi guys! I can't believe I've been reading for 2 days and am only at 33%. As you've mentioned, even though English is my first language, there are some scenes that I have to re-read because I get lost (VERY VERY long sentences as you said Blacky) (view spoiler)

Hope you have fun Blacky ;)

❀Tea❀ You've been busy :)
I do apologize to all of you. Now I see how you felt yesterday when you logged on after few hours and found pages of Blacky and me exchanging spoilers. :D
I'm still at my 46%, maybe little more, but not far.
I'm finally home and in a mood for little Thornton.

Ah I love a good Gothic Tale :)

★Ruth★ Blacky wrote: "Heard of that one! But no haven't read it.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Wuthering Heights, my absolute favorite book EVER!

Hi Tea, it's actually fun going back & looking for your spoilers after I get to that spot. And love that we're a chatty bunch :) Enjoy more of Mr. Thornton! I'm off to lunch.

I had few more spoilers last night, but I was at the part that was really, really full of things to put here. If I did it, I would practically copy/paste whole chapter :)
You'll know what I mean when you get there :D

I love Wuthering Heights too...although I haven't seen the newer version. Have you read Rebecca, Ruth?

Duchess Nicole Cathy wrote: "Oh goody, cannot wait!

Boo to work! I highlighted that too. From here on out, there are tons of quotables!

❀Tea❀ I remember reading Wuthering Heights in school. Didn't like it. Maybe I should try again, with English version. :) What's Rebecca like?

Cathy M. I really want to listen to the audiobook now since I can't read but I'm afraid I'll miss more of those great lines!

i I didn't really like Wuthering Heights, never really felt the characters. Who's Rebecca by?

❀Tea❀ Daphne du Maurier

Duchess Nicole I haven't read Rebecca yet either but its supposedly an iconic book and one of the "great romances".

Have you heard the line "Last night I dreamed I went to Manderly again..."? That's the first lie of the book.

❀Tea❀ Duchess Nicole wrote: "Have you heard the line "Last night I dreamed I went to Manderly again..."? That's the first l..."

Isn't that song by Robbie Williams? :D
I'm ashamed to say I haven't heard that line before. I did heard about Rebecca, few characters in book were reading it. It never crossed my mind to check it out. :)

Its crazy because I'm fairly certain that I read it when I was in high school, bu that was like thirteen years ago. The plot is very familiar.

Idk about Robbie Williams though, lol!

❀Tea❀ We were more 'Russian classic' oriented in school. Not to mention our own. I still shudder when I remember few of them.

❀Tea❀ I had to google idk :)

Robbie Williams :D

Duchess Nicole ❀Tea❀ wrote: "I had to google idk :)

I had never heard that song! I think that Manderly is the name of the estate in the book.

And sorry about the idk :( I need to remember to stop using text slang.

❀Tea❀ Duchess Nicole wrote: "And sorry about the idk :( I need to remember to stop using text slang."

As long as google understands it, I have no problem with it. :) Use whatever you want. I'm learning new language here :D

Duchess Nicole I have class in a bit but I'll check in with you all later. Have fun reading!

❀Tea❀ I hit a slow boring part.

Have fun in class :)

Mine are 57
57
57
58

the opening is part of the episode and the closing credits last about a minute TOPS. But it's no wonder, I know that often the BBC shows are shorter in America, don't know why they do it :(

Blacky *Romance Addict* Yup it says 235 min duration on IMDB and Wikipedia, mine is 230 or so... but I found the deleted scenes video too <3 <3 <3

Anyway, Cathy you're right at the good part!!!!!!!

Tea what slow boring part??????

I'll read more tomorrow, but I'm still at about 65%

Just read this part (44%). (view spoiler) Maybe I need to re-read that section again...

How did the birthday festivities go Nicole? Good I hope!

Duchess Nicole I felt the same way. I thought she was horribly rude and reacted really oddly. But like Blacky said, just wait!

Cathy M. Yea just read that other spoiler from Blacky about what's to come.

Also find it sort of funny that (view spoiler)

Duchess Nicole No, I like your rambling! I think maybe back then, it was more of an abstract thought, you know? Like, you didn't see even parents being overly affectionate with their kids, especially in the upper classes. It was considered vulgar to show outward affection, except in big moments.

Duchess Nicole Sorry, had to switch to my phone. My nook won't let me do spoilers :(

(view spoiler)

Did you read another few pages? And see how things start having a different light shined on them?

Cathy M. Not yet, just ate dinner and am watching the Grammys right now :) I'll start again soon though.

Cathy M. Oops, didn't press Post on this earlier...Chpt 26 (48%) (view spoiler)

End of Chpt 27 (50%) (view spoiler)

I'm off to bed now. Good night/morning everyone!

Still at a snails pace ----

Quote :'The mother of whom he spoke to us?' said Margaret.

'Mrs. Thornton; the only mother he has, I believe,' said Mr. Hale quietly.

hahahahaha!

<3 Yes I know, FINALLY!!!!! :DDDDDDD I hope I'll finish the book today, I'm at 76% now :)

Amaryllis Everyone! I am dropping by just to tell you this: I AM LOVING THIS BOOK!!! and ready to gush over it! (well, not right now, but as soon as I am back home)

All day long, my eyes were literally glued to the pages, so excited was I to learn more about Margaret's new life in Milton. At some point, my friends had to yell at me to get my attention, they asked me why I was "wasting my time reading classic literature when I should be reading The Economist or The NY Times" (we are majoring in finance). So I told them with a great sense of pride that North and South deals with many subjects that we are actually studying in Economic History, such as the effects of industrialization and the relations between employers and workers... Before I knew it, I was shaking the book in front of their faces and demanding that they read it, if not for leisure, at least for study purposes :D

This book is both instructive and so much enjoyable. Who wouldn't want to read it?!

End of tirade. (for now :p)

Blacky *Romance Addict* LOOOL :D Yep I get you Amaryllis, this book does show the industrialization, and both sides of it, masters and workers and all. Fascinating :)
Glad you're loving it :)

I am sooo enjoying this book Blacky! At this rate, I might finish it way sooner than I thought :DDD
