Blacky and Tea ! When are we doing the buddy watch ? When are we? Huh when ? When ? When ?

Blacky *Romance Addict* I don't know, watch it when you want Karen :D you still aren't finished with the book woman!!!!!!!!!!

message 554: by [deleted user] (new)

I will finish the book don't you worry about that!!

But buddy watch has to be done !!

Duchess Nicole Ahaha!!! Karen, your *severely strict eyes* made me LOL!

You made some good time last night with the book! Did it pick up for you, then? I watched the first two episodes of the series last night, and **swoon!** Definitely a bit different in the book, but it also gives me a little different of a take on what I read. Like, you can actually SEE Thornton's fascination with Margaret. And the scene after (view spoiler)

Blacky *Romance Addict* yup it is quite different in the show, some scenes are completely changed :D but no crying!!!! not even Bessie LOL

oh you stopped right at the good part Nicole!!!!!

I started realizing that my eyes were closing involuntarily at around 2 am and I was missing stuff. I had actually started the third one but I'll start it over. This has been such a fabulous buddy read, you guys!!! I think the classics are much better read with a friend...I had questions that were answered (by my non-native English friends, no less), and everyone's enthusiasm definitely enhanced my own. So thanks to you all!

This isn't my farewell...just wanted to get that out there, ahaha :):):)

It was a lovely buddy read nicole ! I did today ! My mom and dad both came in and scolded me ! Why are sitting all day and reading a book :p study girl study ! I have a little left ! Will finish in sometime ! :D

And now I agree , its way more fun to read a classic with friends ! Yay!

message 559: by [deleted user] (new)

ahahaha :D yeah this isn't really high on the romantic scenes :(((((((((((

Duchess Nicole I would love to read some classics with you guys sometimes. I've been reading a classic a month for about six months now, and even if I haven't enjoyed them all :) they've all been at least thought provoking.

message 563: by [deleted user] (new)

I would love to do so again too :)

How about Rebecca next month , you did say you want to read it and I don't think I will be able to handle another classic this month !

message 564: by [deleted user] (new)

Which classics have you read in the last 6 m nicole and which did you enjoy?

Blacky *Romance Addict* I don't know when I'll grab another classic ahahah but I'll keep watch at what you guys are reading, I'll jump in if I like the sound of it :D

Duchess Nicole Karen wrote: "Which classics have you read in the last 6 m nicole and which did you enjoy?"

The Prophet The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran
Lady Chatterley's Lover Lady Chatterley's Lover by D.H. Lawrence (which I LOVED)
Animal Farm Animal Farm by George Orwell
Persuasion Persuasion by Jane Austen
White Fang White Fang by Jack London

message 567: by [deleted user] (new)

Adding all to classics TBR :D:D

great that you are reading one a month Nicole ! Great :D

Duchess Nicole The Prophet was a little cheesy at times, but if you want some great quotes and short phrases that really make you think, it's great! And Animal Farm I just read last week...it was odd and political, but still okay. Glad I read it.

Persuasion....five huge stars!
Lady Chatterly's Lover....what a beautiful and sad story...and there's a movie, too!
White Fang.... I just love Jack London!

Blacky *Romance Addict* Animal Farm is depressing as hell. Really really. I have that one in paperback.
Persuasion <3 Well anything by Jane Austen is <3
I have Lady C's Lover in paperback too :) Good one :) I think that was my first sex scene in a book ahahahha

message 570: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol ! Blacky !

I mean to finish all remaining Jane Austens this year ! There is a P&P 200 th anniversary challenge in a group :D

Blacky *Romance Addict* ahahah oh damn I've read P&P so many times... I'll stay away till I at least forget some of the lines ahahahah

Stay away from p&p ! Is that even possible ?*raises eyebrow*

❀Tea❀ Is it possible, to forget the lines? :D
I just can't stand away from P&P. I'm always hoping that next time I read it, there will be that pond scene. :)

❀Tea❀ Karen wrote: "Stay away from p&p ! Is that even possible ?*raises eyebrow*"

We'll ambush her with quotes and gifs so she'll have to read it again :)

:P :P :P hey I know it by heart. Really. I'll enjoy it more if I don't read it like crazy ahahahhhaha

❀Tea❀ No! I'm not adding another thing to watch list! I'm not! I'm not!

*checks imdb*

Blacky *Romance Addict* ahahahhahahhaha

Lost in Austen is a modern re-telling of P&P where the girl travels back in time (or travels into the book) of P&P and meets all the characters, only not everything is the same as in the book :DDDD ehehehheheheheh
it's really great, I laughed like crazy in the first two episodes :D the last one is the weakest, but it's still a great series :)

Duchess Nicole Have you guys read all of Austen? I've only read PandP, Emma (which I loved also) and Persuasion.

Ready when you are !! All eyes on Blacky and all guns filled with quotes !!! Ready ! Fire !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Duchess Nicole But it's a truly beautiful story, Blacky! It's tragic because Austen wrote such happy endings for her characters but never got her own Happy Ending. But her love story is just as beautiful as her books.

message 587: by [deleted user] (new)

Do you know somewhere an austen festival is celebrated , where people dress up and live the life of people in those times for a week !!!

Blacky *Romance Addict* karen I cry at every damn sad scene possible. I'm a big cry baby. That's why I don't watch/read something with a sad ending :((((

I cried for 45 minutes when I saw Brokeback Mountain, and I mean tears rolling for 45 min. Terrible.

When I saw Devdas I couldn't speak for the first hour, then I cried for the second hour. What can I tell you. NOT for me ahahahhahah

Oh ! That is sad :'( ! It has Keira Knightley right?

Duchess Nicole Karen wrote: "Do you know somewhere an austen festival is celebrated , where people dress up and live the life of people in those times for a week !!!"

Wow, that's interesting. It would be a fun experience, for sure! I want so bad to get to travel to Europe one day :(

Yes I know, I already have the movie, but I just can't make myself watch it! I really REALLY don't like sad endings :( check my comment about ahahhahah

The one with Keira Knightly is the newest P&P...my favorite ;) Becoming Jane has Anne Hathaway as Jane.

I meant to nicole You cried in that movie ! Why ?

Sometimes I write wrong stuff !!

I cried in a walk to remember and kal ho na ho !!

❀Tea❀ Nicole, watched and read all of Austen in Croatian and English. P&P, S&S and Persuasion are reread (and rewatched) on yearly basis. Northanger Abbey if I'm in the mood (movie was better). I don't like Emma & Mansfield Park - I blame series/movies for that. Something didn't sit right with them so I'm having trouble reading them. I started reading Mansfield Park not long ago, but stopped as soon as something else came along.

Oh ! Sorry got confused !

Blacky *Romance Addict* Tea I'm pretty much the same as you, although for some reason i don't like Sense and sensibility, Emma i simply adore :DDDDDD

❀Tea❀ Found streemeng of Lost in Austen. So if I start with that, then to N&S, then to Jane Eyre and hoping that I won't want to repeat P&P, I'll be done by lunch tomorrow. Mom was bored so she invited us to lunch.

It isn't helping my brother found some old comp games that works in Win. I've been playing them all day.

Oh, Karen! Have you heard the story of the life of Jane Austen? If you haven't then you just HAVE to watch the movie! Of course, it's probably not completely historically accurate, but you'll get the point. Austen led a fairly tragic, short life.
