Buddy Read and watch 12.02.13 (contains spoilers)
Good afternoon everyone! I knew this was going to happen *sigh* I tried to read more last night but only got through Chpt 6. Now I'll have to play catch up today. Dang it, why do I have to work?!?! Started listening to the audiobook (I'm at work now and can't really read) & FINALLY met Mr. Thornton. Yay!
Love the gifs Blacky & Tea. You guys rock :)
Happy birthday to your daughter Nicole! Okay now, back to work...
Hi Cathy. As you can see by number of posts we didn't do much reading. You're not that far behind.Enjoy Thornton :)
Yep, when they first meet! I'm really enjoying this buddy read, you guys are making this much more exciting to read :) Thanks guys!!
it's always more fun to read with someone :)))))))) although we've spent more time talking here than reading ahahhahahahha

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Absolutely love that scene! I still have tingles whenever I remember that line of his: (view spoiler) <3 OMG!!!!!!!!!!
Nope :D I haven't seen it in years, and I'm not gonna spoil my moment by clicking on the best scenes woman! Nuh huh!!!!
Years?! Wow.I watched it not that long ago. When did you put that pic from P&P? Week or two ago? It inspired me to watch P&P, and something there triggered watching N&S :D
I know, I know... But I can't never get bored with both of them :D
ehehehe :D Oh I've watched P&P at least 20 times ahahhahahahahah since I was like 13 or something :D , not N&S... I saw it first in 2007, not 2005 like I thought :) Saw it maybe 3-4 times, but haven't seen in in at least 3-4 years :(((((( I knew it by heart then ahahahhah so it'll be good to watch it now and NOt remember every single thing, although this book isn't helping with that ahahhahah
I watch them every 6+ months. When I need some cheering up. Usually start with P&P, go to S&S (not Hugh Grant version, newer one) and finish it with N&S. After that I'm ready for some serial killer book. :D
Ahahahaha :D yeah that was me a few years ago, only I watched Jane Eyre with Toby Stephens <3 you must try that one!
*checking out Jane Eyre*Great, now I have another one to add to the list. Should it go before N&S or after? Or should I scramble everything up?
Have you seen Cranford and Wife & Daughters? Another BBC series from Gaskell's books.
Tea woman I've seen it all ahahahaha I'm a period drama fan all the way ahaha but you can watch Jane Eyre whenever you can, but just know that it's great! One of my faves <3
How many posts before this goes to next page?We need to give our fellow buddy-readers something to read beside spoiler tags :)
Umm well I have no idea ahahaha if you plan to post pics go ahead cause I'm on my mobile :( If I only knew what % the others are, to know what's safe to discuss
I really, really love my name :)Just found this line: You must have some tea first. (Mrs. T to Mr. T.)
Tea! Yes, I suppose I must. (Mr. T.)
*I love you, mom!!* :D

Now that I'm catching up, going through & looking at spoilers :)
End of Chpt 9 (view spoiler)
Blacky wrote: "You know that actress Tea Leoni? Same like her"Good thinking! And I was looking for a word to rhyme it with :)
Cathy wrote: "Now that I'm catching up, going through & looking at spoilers"Not all of them I hope :)
I am new here and am not really sure what I'm doing and so I'll simply jump in. I always vowed I'd never read any of Mrs Gaskell's books because of the shabby way she treated Patrick Bronte. Silly really. A rash decision! Eventually I gave in and read North and South. Once I got over the fact that it was a reworking of P&P I loved it. Then I saw the TV series. Wow! One of the most romantic programs ever! Loved it. Annoyed by a couple of sillies in it, but when he stands watching her drive away and says, 'Turn back and look at me,'.... well, very wonderful.
Yeah put that last BIT into spoiler ahaha but I loved that part too <3 he's just amazing, and I haven't heard of Gaskell before I saw the show lol
No, I've been TRYING to be good :) But had to go through & see if there were any up to the point I was at.I just finished Chpt 11. (view spoiler)
Val wrote: "I am new here and am not really sure what I'm doing and so I'll simply jump in. I always vowed I'd never read any of Mrs Gaskell's books because of the shabby way she treated Patrick Bronte. Silly ..."Wait, what did she do to him? I've never known there was a story! Dish, Val!
Oh, Cathy, I'm just after that point! I think you're where it starts getting really interesting. And I quite agree with you.
Duchess Nicole wrote: "Val wrote: "I am new here and am not really sure what I'm doing and so I'll simply jump in. And that last line is a bit spoilery but it gives me something to look forward to. I'm sure the impact will be even greater once I get there!
OMG Tea! I am behind you but what a beautiful quote! Oh I just love Thornton!! Off to go read some more!
Duchess Nicole wrote: "Wait, what did she do to him? I've never known there was a story! Dish, Val! "Yeah, Val. You can't drop bomb like that and not explain it :)
Blacky wrote: "Cathy you'll see her slowly changing her mind and opinions :)"Luckily I know that she will change. If I didn't, I might not like her very much.
Blacky wrote: "OMG Tea! I am behind you but what a beautiful quote! Oh I just love Thornton!! Off to go read some more!"This part of book is begging to become spoiler after spoiler. :)
I totally don't read spoilers until I get to them. Ruins the fun of discovery. I'm gonna have a hell of a time hunting down the right spoilers.
Duchess Nicole wrote: "I'm gonna have a hell of a time hunting down the right spoilers."No, you won't. When you read that part, you'll just know it became spoiler :) Becasue you'll want to put it here :D
Patrick Bronte watched his wife die and then all six of his children, some in horrible circumstances. Charlotte was the last. After she died, Mrs Gaskell wrote Charlottes's biography laying all her woes and problems at her father's door. He was blamed for pretty much everything. Mrs G was hopelessly wrong for the most part. Then, she gave it to Patrick to read! I can only imagine how the poor man felt and could never understand how she could be so cold-hearted. Consequently, I wouldn't read her for years. To be honest I'm not a fan of her other books, but N&S is wonderful. Not sure it is a great story, but she cheesed me off!
