2015/2016 My ABCs *Name game*

Can anything be as constant, precise and non changing as the span of a year? Well sure, the alphabet can definetely keep up.

The catch of this game is pretty simple, you must spell out you full name (As in first, second *if you have it*, middle and last name) and according to the letters are the books you will read.
Example:
S A book with a short title
A The 7th book on your to read shelf
R A book with a long title
B A book with the title starting with B
I The 1st book in your to read shelf

*You don`t have to actually spell your name on the page, just do it at home and post the books it resulted out to be along with all the different letters. That way you don`t feel uncomfortable!

Just a question for "N" a spin off book... What does that mean exactly? Is it similar to the first book in a series?

I`m glad you`re liking them! And that`s fantastic ;) It`s a series based on another series from the same autor. Meaning the concept, setting and such are the same as the other serie it usually has side characters return from said original series to continue minor pending story plots and devlope one of it`s own. I hope this clears up a bit of you doubt ;)

An example could be: The vampire academy series and the spinoff bloodlines.

My "main" tbr list is a notepad file of books I want to get through during the year. The goodreads tbr list is one off books I don't want to forget, but not necessarily read right away, or books for specific challenges.

Here's an example of my notepad list:

Having a bunch of A's doesn't really work. Unless I skip to the 7th series. I'd have to get extremely creative such as 7th book on GR tbr, rearrange some of the series 'order' so the 7th book isn't in the middle of a series, find an author whose books are stand alone, and then jump to the 7th series. Otherwise I'm just reading books 7-11 off the GR tbr.

Or possibly use books 7, 14, 21, 28 off the GR tbr. But the 7th book on the tbr list could be really subjective.

I don't always get to read a series in order in a short period of time. Sometimes every book I need is checked out/overdue so I jump around in my focus series. (I actually had 1 week at the library where the 6 books I was up to next in 6 different series were all checked out, so I now always have a list of 10 or more books for choices.)

I use my notepad file as I can scan it a lot quicker than looking through 20 pages of tbr.

Would those with multiple A's in their name be allowed to be creative in what qualifies as the 7th book?

Of course you could be creative to what qualifies it for example you could choose the 7th stand alone book and keep going from there. If it`s one in the middle of a series you haven`t read or started you could just skip it.

It seems with your notpade file it`ll be much easier, the thing is to ensure a sort of randomness and get books read on your tbr shelf. Snce you`re name has many As it could vary of course. I hope this clears things up a bit. ;)

So, I'm just wondering what your definition is for a "spin-off" book. Does it mean like how Bloodlines is a spin-off of Vampire Academy? Or does it mean like a fairy tale retelling? I'm kind of stumped and I need to read two. Thanks!

I'm interpreting it as Bloodlines is a spinoff of VA, or the Vlad books are a spinoff of the Cat and Bones series, Blood Kiss is a spinoff of BDB etc.

I think it would be reverses they take a book and make a movie or show about it.

A spin off is a new book or series based off another book or series of the same author. It has the same world, setting and the main protagonist/s of a spin off are usually side characters of said original book. It's stories are new but sometimes feature unsolved minor problems from the original. Sorry if I confuse you hope I don't , tell me if you have any more questions :)
