Dem- nice review - I have added

I am also reading The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. Some friends & co-workers have been recommending it to me for awhile now. Another book that I am re-reading is Christine by Stephen King. It's been along time since I've read it & decided to get into the Halloween spirit in reading a good horror.

I saw this question in the description of the the book(Melophobia). It's a good question, and my answer is yes!!

Thanks for the info, Bella!

I'll be starting Jhereg and Queen of Abaddon for the toppler today. THey'll also count towards my killer challenge.

I'm reading The Hound of the Baskervilles and Would-Be Witch for the Toppler. Should finish in time, throwing Locke & Key in the middle.

thats a great book -- have you read or listened to The War of the Worlds the audiobook is really good.

Yes, I have. I agree it's very good.

Jhereg
Queen of Abaddon
Blaze
Jackaby
Magic Bleeds
Now that's over, I will resume Outlander on audiobook and start The Hangman's Daughter for a buddy read.

How are you liking the Temeraire series? I read Uprooted a couple months ago and really liked it. Yet, when I read the description of this series it held me back a bit; I think maybe because it seems so different from Uprooted (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it stayed my finger over the mouse button).

Bella,
that book sounds interesting -- thanks

You - as a book of the month in another group
As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride - started as an audio fill-in because You was too inappropriate to listen to when other people are around!
The DUFF: Designated Ugly Fat Friend - review from NetGalley: started and put aside for the toppler
Summer Secrets - review from publisher
I'm planning to start The Hangman's Daughter as soon as possible for a buddy read and to make a little more progress on my series challenge, but i need to finish up some the other books first.

I thought As You Wish was charming! I'm so glad that (view spoiler) Just loved The Princess Bride so much.
Who's narrating the audio version? Is it Elwes? I don't normally like audio books, but I may pick it up if he's doing the audiobook.

I have really enjoyed the Temeraire books. It is so hard to not blow through them! I don't want them to be over. I have only listened to the audio books, so I don't know how they are in print. The dragons are all great characters and Novik does a great job with dialogue and plots. She was influenced by the books by Patrick O'Brian about Captain Jack Aubrey and Doctor Stephen Maturin (Master and Commander is #1) and the tone of her stories bring much of the love of the ships and battles out in her writing. However, the Dragons and air battles are all her own! I have the book you noted on my TBR list.

I think I'll pick up the audiobook soon. I was a teenager when the movie came out and I had such a crush on Cary Elwes. I'm sure I'm not alone in that.
Does anyone use Audible? If I sign up for a trial membership on Audible, I can get one book free. If I don't renew the membership, do I still have access to the book? Or do I have to listen to it during the 30 days.

The first time I saw the movie was when my oldest daughter was little. I've seen it many times since then. Everyone in my family can quote the movie at this point. You are definitely not alone. Who wouldn't love Cary Elwes from that movie? Listening to this book, he sounds like a genuinely nice guy too.
I have Audible and I love it. I agree with Travis. I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure you keep the book. They may have a FAQ page or something where you can find that answer for certain.

I saw Darker Shade of Magic on a kindle deal but couldn't decide whether to get it or not. I have way too many series at the moment and didn't want to invest in another unless I knew it was good so do let us know what you think Lilisa!

So I'm glad you put the whole title in there. We have an expression "up the duff", meaning pregnant. So I was trying to work out what the book could be about!
