Emerson watched him over her shoulder, and she snort-laughed as her eyes narrowed. "Did you read a guidebook, or something? Because I'm pretty sure there isn't a rule that says you have to kiss me at the end of the date," she informed him, leaning against the counter and crossing her arms.

Emerson grunted and rolled her eyes. "Well, it's a good thing I'm not here to please you, then, is it?" she turned back to the soup. He was only half joking, but continued anyway. "Besides, if I wanted to kiss you, I would have done it by now. You just haven't wowed me yet." Again with the ongoing joke as she raised her free hand to shake it when she said 'wowed'. That probably wouldn't die down anytime soon.

"Ooooookaaay" Jacqueline said with a laugh, "Change in subject needed now" she said and laughed a bit more. She climbed over the counter again and took another long swig from the vodka bottle. "You gotta bathroom down here" she asked.
Emerson's mouth had dropped open to make a snarky comeback when Jacqueline changed the subject, but she was grateful enough at first. Then she froze, not exactly wanting Jacqueline to leave after what Bones had said. She shrugged and set down the spoon. "Yeah, here," she pointed to a doorway that led down a hall. "It's the last door on the right."

Bones chuckled softly and walked over to Emerson. "What kind of soup are you making?" he asked, deciding to go with the subject change. He saw her face when Jacqueline asked about the bathroom and he could tell she was nervous or something.
"Noth-" Emerson started before realizing that actually wasn't an answer to Bones' question. She frowned slight and took a step away, though tilting her body towards his to not seem like she was anxious. "Um, it's chicken rice. Is that okay?" she questioned in a teasingly annoyed voice.

"I'm fine," Emerson said, looking up from the soup to give him a bewildered look before arching her eyebrows. "Why? Are you okay?" She looked back down to continue stirring the soup, pausing a second to turn and grab the bag of rice from her pantry. She scooped some out and sifted it into the liquid.

Emerson rolled her eyes and averted his gaze, turning back to the soup though she didn't pull her arm away from him. "Yes, I'm still perfectly fine." She watched him out of the corner of her eye. "What? Are you trying to prove something? Because doing that while your sister is here is kind of gross," she said, only half joking. She really wouldn't mind kissing him, or more, but while Jacqueline was there?

Her shoulders slumped in not-so-mock relief, though hopefully Bones couldn't tell. "Oh, good. I was really worried, because that would be positively revolting," Emerson retorted, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she rolled her eyes again and pulled an elastic out of her pocket to tie her hair back. A few strands still fell into her face and she shook her head, sighing before changing the subject. "So, Jacqueline's nice."

Jacqueline walked in on that sentence but then just kind walked back out again. No way was she going to get in the middle of that. Not again.
"I mean we haven't even kissed yet, and it's kind of obvious that you don't want to" Bones said.
Emerson sighed, setting the spoon down again and steadying herself with her hands on the counter. She took a moment before turning to face Bones. "I do, actually, want to kiss you, but..." She tried to think of why she felt like she shouldn't. "You already said you move around a lot and I'm afraid I'll get too attached to you." Not that that part hadn't already happened, but she knew physical contact would probably make it worse. She dropped her eyes and fiddled with the hem of her black button-up. "I do want it to work, but can it?"

Emerson seemed to think it over before nodding. "Well, then." She took a second to turn around and get the heat on the soup lower before quickly stepping towards Bones and cupping her hand on the back of his neck to kind of pull him down and press her lips to his, though it was a bit sloppy and forceful.

Emerson pulled back after a moment just to look at Bones. "Okay, so that was really shitty, but now we've kissed." She blushed at her own sloppiness and attributed it to actually liking Bones and being nervous. "Happy now?" she demanded, tilting her head to eye him with pinched lips.

((I'm so soooo sorry for my procrastination. I swear I'll get the profiles done soon; my brain is just bluh.))
Emerson tilted her head to deepen the second kiss, and pressed her body against Bones' before pulling away just to say, "Yeah, lots and lots of practice." She smirked and leaned to kiss him again, closing her eyes. She knew Jacqueline was probably just waiting in the hallway, but for the moment she didn't care.

Bones chuckled softly and kissed her back, deepening the kiss slightly. Though after a while he regretfully pulled away, "We should probably continues this later" he said and kissed her one more time before pulling away again. "Jacqueline it's safe to come out now" he said once she stepped away from him.
Emerson remorsefully stepped away from Bones, patting her hair and straightening her shirt although it probably didn't matter. She smirked at Bones before returning to the soup to stir it. "This is almost ready," she informed into the room, her cheeks barely flushed. She gestured to a cupboard across the room. "Can one of you pull bowls down from that one?"

Bones watched her get the bowls before looking over at Emerson. "Oh hey, I won't be needing you to deliver Copper's food anymore" he said with a small smile. "I uh...... bought a bag from this other guy the other day, and she seemed to like it better sooooo" he said and shrugged slightly.
Emerson gave a cool shrug while she opened a drawer and fumbled for a ladle and three spoons. "Whatever," she replied, though more quietly she said, "Stupid traitor cat," knowing that both Bones and Jacqueline could hear her. She scooped out the soup into the bowls and gestured to the other side of the counter-bar, where four stools were underneath the overhang. "Sit."

Bones shrugged, "pretty good, other then her traitorous habits towards food sources." he said jokingly and smiled at Emerson before walking over to the stools and sitting down.
Jacqueline sat down next to him and smiled, "So how does she like the lady friend" she asked.
"Don't really know. They've only really met twice. The first time Copper was eating a women's arm in the back seat of my truck and then the other time, she sat on Emerson"
"Actually, that was one in the same time," Emerson contradicted, setting the bowls in front of the two with spoons before coming around to sit with them. "The second time was someplace else, at one of your houses." She stirred the soup around in her bowl to cool it off a little. "And, she obviously doesn't like me too much. She could have broken my legs."

"So it's your fault that she doesn't know her own mass, then?" Emerson teased, narrowing her eyes with a smirk. "Somehow I wonder why that hasn't been a problem for you yet." She took her spoon and scooped some of the soup into her mouth, her gaze flicking from Jacqueline to Bones.

Jacqueline chuckled and shook her head slightly before eating some as well. "So how is business?" she asked Emerson. "Do you like make a lot of money at this place" she asked curiously. She didn't think the answer would be yes, but she still wanted to ask.
"Yeah, well, only because everything is so expensive, especially the special order stuff." Emerson nodded in thought before gesturing with her spoon. "Your brother, though, seems convinced that I'm poor only because he thinks he's one of two customers. Which isn't true, because I get orders from all over." She gave Bones a pointed look before returning to her soup.

Jacqueline ignored Bones and nodded slightly, "That's cool, What kind of stuff does my brother usually get here?" she asked.
Emerson made a face at Bones but focused again on Jacqueline. "Well, he used to have a subscription of food for that stupid Mngwa," she brought up again and shrugged. "But other than that, he just buys this stuff that gets rid of bodies, which we have yet to figure out where they go. I guess they just disappear." She jutted her chin at Bones, looking for confirmation.

"wow that's cool" she said.
"Yeah I also put some in all the salt shakers" he said.
Emerson watched them with mock disgust on her face. "You two are insufferable," she muttered before facing her soup and digging back into it. She really didn't need to know what the effects of her own doing were, especially when it wasn't exactly her choice. She rolled her eyes for what seemed like the millionth time.

"Yeah it was pretty awesome" Bones said and looked over at Emerson. He could tell she was annoyed and probably didn't care to hear about his shenanigans, but she'd have to realize that, that is just who he is. "So uh...... what other kind of stuff to do make? Or like what's your favorite?"
"Huh?" Emerson picked her head up, having heard the words but not the voice, so she wasn't sure who had asked the question. "What do I like?" She shook her head. "It's just my job. I used to love doing it, but it's been my practice for so long that it's become dull." She shrugged. "I don't much enjoy it anymore." She decided to sort of change the subject. "What do you do, Jacqueline?"

Emerson laughed a short laugh. "Those are very interesting career choices," she said jokingly, though she wasn't mocking Jacqueline at all. She finished her bowl of soup and leaned her side into the bar, facing the brother and sister. "I mean, it's more detailed than Bones' 'I just own everything'." Now that time she was making fun of him a little bit.

Emerson shook her head remorsefully. "You know, all I heard was, 'I've got a manly man job and practically run the city'," she said as she rolled her eyes. "Forgive me for letting my misinterpretation ruin your career speech." She chuckled and stood up to take her bowl to the sink.

Emerson nodded. "What a coincidence. I only run one shop in this town as well." She smirked and rinsed out her bowl, gesturing to Jacqueline and Bones' bowls as well. "Are you done? There's more if you want." She turned off the tap and gestured to the pot of soup.

"I don't know." Emerson shrugged and took the bowls, turning her back to begin washing the dishes. "I mean, probably a painter or photographer or something, but that's not steady enough of a job." She smirked. "And it's not like I can retire to do that. I still have a lot of time on my hands."

"No, Bones, I just said that as a an idea in the case that I would be good at it." Emerson gave him a look, her voice dripping sarcasm. "Actually, yes, I would like to think I'm good at artsy stuff." She shrugged. "What about you?"

"He is an amazing drawer," Jacqueline said with a smile. "He drew my wedding picture" she said.
"I can teach you how to take pictures," Emerson offered before backtracking and gaping at Jacqueline. "You're married?" she asked, arching an eyebrow as she looked from Bones to Jacqueline with interest. He hadn't mentioned it before.
