"Oh, that's-" Emerson stopped from turning back to the sink and faced Jacqueline again with a dubious look that turned into a scowl. "Your father killed your husband?" She shook her head. "I'm sorry, Jacqueline." She clenched her teeth, not sure why it upset her so much; when Jacqueline didn't seem too mad.

Emerson looked at Bones and sighed, not sure what to do. She came up to Jacqueline's side and held up her arm awkwardly in an almost-hug. "Uh, can I?..." she trailed off, feeling extremely awkward. Dealing with something like that couldn't have been easy, especially knowing that you could have been killed alongside.

Emerson pulled away awkwardly, glancing at Bones before she settled back on Jacqueline. "No, not really. I was with someone for a long, long time, but it wasn't really a relationship, and I didn't love him. Although I don't know how he felt." She pulled herself to sit on the counter where she could face both Bones and Jacqueline.

Jacqueline frowned, "SO your saying you don't love my brother" she gasped and started to sob jokingly. "All I've ever known is is a lie" she said and slide off the stool and fell onto the floor. "Oh my god" she said rolled up into a ball and continued to fake cry.
"Ignore her" Bones said.
Emerson's face contorted into a look of horror as she glanced at Bones then back to Jacqueline. "But... We've only been on two dates?" Though she didn't mean it to come out like a question. "And even before then we didn't know each other that well. Ask your brother if he already loves me, then we can revisit." She knew Jacqueline was mock-crying, but it was still awkward:

Bones chuckled "Yeah, you definitely succeeded" he said and shook his head slightly.
"Yes" Jacqueline said and pumped her fist once. "I'm succeeding as a little sister. Whoa" she said and chuckled and shook her head slightly. "I'm sorry, kind of high" she said and smiled. "Smoked a lot before coming here"
"Oh, so now it makes sense that you would try to come and fix Bones' problems. You just got a kick out of it." But Emerson grinned and rolled her eyes at her new friend's personality. "And yeah, good job. You made it super awkward." She shook her head in mock shudder, looking over at Bones.

Bones shrugged slightly when Emerson looked at him, "Don't listen to her, she's crazy"
"Little bit" Jacqueline said and held up her fingers, positioned them close together, in the universal sign for small. She smiled brightly and then went back to eating.
Bones laughed "Like I said crazy" he said and smiled at Emerson. "No I don't love you, but I do like you" he said just as a clarification. "That being said, you want to do something tomorrow?" he asked.
Emerson smirked and watched the banter between the two. The interaction made her miss her own brothers, but she sighed and pushed the thought away. At Bones' question, her face grew sober. "Tomorrow is Sunday," she stated, pausing before, "The day of rest? I can't do anything." She gave Bones a second to let what she had said sink in before a grin broke out. "Just kidding, I'm free. I would like to do something," she agrees.
((Tomorrow I'm supposed to have most of the day off; I'll try really hard to get those stupid profiles done.
I feel terrible :/ Sorry!!))
I feel terrible :/ Sorry!!))

Bones nodded slightly when she said she couldn't sort of understanding. "Okay, awesome" he said with a chuckled when she said she could go. "Not sure what we're going to do though. So you could uh... just plan that, since You know I kind of thought of last nights date. Totally your turn" he said jokingly with a small nod.
Emerson was about to protest when she realized Bones was right, instead nodding her head. "Sure, I can do that. I'm sure I'll think of something by tomorrow night." She was sure it wouldn't have to be a big deal, either. Their other two dates had certainly been low-key. She hopped off of the counter to grab the dishes from the sink to dry them, realizing she had gotten distracted.

Jacqueline smiled and hoped out of her chair and brought her bowl to the sink. "Just make him do it" she whispered before turning around to face her brother. "Hey Crispin do the dishes, Me and Emerson are going shopping" she said and grabbed Emerson's arm and pulled her out of the shop and towards Bones's truck. "Get in" she said and held up her brothers keys. "I may have stolen his keys" she said with a smile.
Bones just gaped for a moment, not exactly sure what just happened. He shook his head slightly before standing up.
Emerson didn't give a protest as Jacqueline dragged her out of the shop, kind of giving a fleeting wave to Bones as she hurried to keep up with Jacqueline rather than getting her arm ripped off. She laughed when the demon jingled the keys, and said, "We could have just taken my car, but this is fine too." She got in the truck and shut the door behind her. "When did you have time to swipe those?" she questioned once Jacqueline joined her.

Emerson scoffed. "I'll have that, thank you," she said and swiped the wallet back, arching so she could slip it back in her pocket. "It's probably a good thing, though. You pulled me out of the shop so fast that I couldn't have grabbed anything." She took her keys back and had to laugh at Jacqueline's boldness. "So, did you want to go to the mall?" Their small town only had one.

"Yeah, it's pretty good. I mean, it's not the mall of America or whatever. It's a smaller indoor mall, so if you prefer larger, we could always go a couple towns over." Emerson made a face when Jacqueline brought up Jonas again. "The guy is gross. And he never offered to hook me up with grass." She rolled her eyes as if she'd really been expecting it at some point.

Emerson watched as Jacqueline's mood went from joking to serious to easy again, and she narrowed her eyes a little bit before hopping out of the truck and meeting Jacqueline in the direction to head to the mall's main doors. "I do not plan on hurting your brother," Emerson said softly before pointing to Jacqueline's pocket. "And, uh, maybe later. I might need it," she joked before loosening her hair from its tie and running a hand through it.

"Uh, only once, and it was quite a while ago," Emerson replied after thinking back for a moment. "I kind of vowed never to do it again, but whatever." She shrugged, approaching the front doors and opening them, holding it for Jacqueline. "What, do you think I'm actually angelic?"

Emerson shrugged as she thought about it, pausing in front of a fountain. "I don't know. He's not a total dick, which is nice. He... Uh, helped me by killing my ex." Those were bad reasons, she realized. "He's easy to be around, for the most part."

"Oh, I don't care..." Emerson trailed off, looking in the windows of each store they past. "You pick first; I'll get an idea later." She shrugged, gesturing to a store across the floor. "However, I do vote that we don't go into any children's or crafts stores," she joked with a smirk.

Emerson looked at the store Jacqueline had mentioned and nodded. "Yeah, okay," she said, catching up with Jacqueline as she pulled her in. She'd never actually been in Spencer's, but from what she knew, it was sort of the adult store to Hot Topic's teenaged audience.

"Oookay," Emerson said as she shot a wary glance to the department Jacqueline had obviously been talking about. The angel shook her head and followed after Jacqueline to one of the women's clothing sections, rubbing her fingers against a soft sweater as she watched the demon.

Emerson looked over and tried not to laugh, as Jacqueline seemed a little obsessed with weed. "Uh, yeah," she answered, holding up a blue and black plaid shirt that matched her eyes. "What do you think?" she asked, looking down at it.

"Nope, I'm good," Emerson replied, laying the shirt she had taken over her arm. She picked her head up to search the room for the cash registers and started making her way over when she spotted them.

Jaqueline stayed in the stall and broke off all the sensors before leaving the bathroom and going to stand outside of Spencer's waiting for Emerson.
Once Emerson had already paid for her shirt, she looked around and realized Jacqueline had mysteriously disappeared. She sighed and took her bag, stuffing her wallet into her back pocket before leaving the store to look for the demon. She didn't see her right outside, or that she had gotten distracted with something else, so for some reason she figured Jacqueline had just disappeared to someplace that Emerson wouldn't want to know about.

Emerson jumped when Jacqueline appeared next to her. "God..." She muttered, looking off towards where she had come from, deciding she really didn't want to know. "Oh, I don't know. Would it be lame if I said Forever 21?" she asked with a smirk. That place had shirts she was more likely to wear than Spencer's.

Emerson shrugged, walking into the store and heading to her usual section. Well, not usual, but she hadn't bought anything from there in a while and was getting a bit bored of her usual dark button-up shirts. "I was on the angels' side for a long while... I was a medic, but I fought when needed. I was discharged- well, not discharged, they ordered to kill me- when they discovered I was spending time with a demon. His name was Kylist."

"Trust me, I know. Kylist... Was a very, very bad idea." Emerson sighed, pausing as she was filing through a rack of maxi skirts to brush her neck. It wasn't only that Kylist had hurt her, but made her do things she really didn't want to. One time he had forced her to kill a group of small half-breed angel, demon, and human children. She shook her head and continued through the rack. "Though, without him, I would still be in the legion. And probably wouldn't have met Bones."

"Maybe not so much, but so far from what I've seen, he's a lot better than Kylist," Emerson said with another shrug as she picked off a skirt and held it up. It was light purple with a black lace pattern at the bottom. She set it over her arm to buy after deciding she liked it.

Emerson smirked. "Well, I would hope he at least somewhat likes me. Kylist wasn't nice to anyone, even people he was trying to get something from." She sifted through a stack of on-sale sleeveless shirts and pulled something that looked crocheted and nodded.
