A smirk flitted across Emerson's face alongside a blush. "Well, thank you." She followed suit with a once-over for Bones as well. "You don't look too shabby yourself," she told him with a crooked grin.

"Well, yeah, but I have no idea what we're doing." Emerson shrugged, leaning into the store to pull her jacket off of the rack. "And as far as I know, neither do you." They hadn't had a plan last time, either, but that went over fine.

"Oh joy; I really trust you." Emerson rolled her eyes with a chuckle and closed her shop door, locking it behind them. She turned to Bones and gesture to his truck. "After you, all knowing one." She arched her eyebrows.

Emerson clipped her belt buckle in, having no idea what kind of driver Bones was like, and leaned back into the seat. "I like just about anything, actually. Other than, well. Humans. They're gross." She didn't know from previous experience of human-eating, but judging on how they took care of themselves, she didn't want to know.

Emerson gave Bones a long, long look before she said dubiously, "Neither have I, so we've got that in common." At the mention of the diner, she perked up though. "That sounds really good; I've been there once or twice before."

Emerson furrowed her brows; if they had been standing outside she would have placed her hands on her hips, too. "What's so funny?" she demanded, not liking being out of the joke.

Emerson thought back on how she had reacted, nodding with a quiet chuckle. "Okay, yeah, but I only acted that way because I thought you meant it to sound like I had, in fact, eaten human before." She rolled her eyes. "Good to know I'm so hilarious, Bones."

Emerson shrugged smoothy, acting as if she hadn't been flattered by the compliment. "There's no point in being so solemn all the time. It's boring." She gave Bones a mischievous smirk. "You would agree." It came out as less of a compliment and more of a 'I'll tell you' sort of thing, but she didn't take it back.

"Well..." Emerson could see the menu- truly remember it. Which was stupid because she could remember other simple things. "They have good burgers, and chicken strips. Good salads, too." She shrugged one shoulder before remembering another detail. "Their fries are amazing."

((I promise I'll get to our other one soon, but other stuff is coming up an it's taking longer than I'd hoped. Sorry!))
Emerson casually slipped her had into Bones', moving forward to open the door to the diner for them. It creaked shut behind the two, loud enough to warrant a few customers and employees picking their heads to look at the nuisance from the diner's usual laziness. Emerson gave an uncomfortable nod and a smile to -coincidentally- her delivery boy, whom she hadn't known worked a second job in the diner. She obeyed the sign that read Seat Yourself, pulling Bones behind her to look around. "Booth or table?" she asked him.

((That's okay. Just post them when you can.))
((I'm really sorry but can we postpone the other thread for a bit? I'm really sick and there's a bunch of other crap going on. I don't want to drop this but I don't want to pick anything up for awhile.))
Emerson almost laughed aloud when Bones picked the booth she had sat at each time she had been to this particular diner. The reason she had picked it then was because something was off with the bench of the booth to where the backing dwarfed her height, and she hid easily to where she hadn'tbeen bothered by pesky customers. This time, she'd een eyeing it just because it was in the back corner. She slid into the booth, setting her jacket down between her and the wall. Once Bones was sat down, a waitress came up and handed them menus, asking for their drink requests. Emerson shrugged. "Water."

Bones nodded slightly "Coke" he said and looked through the menu fro a moment while the waitress went to get there drinks. After a little while he set the menu aside and smiled at Emerson. "What are you going to get" he asked a bit curiously. Though he probably mostly asked cause it seemed like normal conversation and he didn't know what else to say.
((Sorry again :/))
Emerson set her own menu aside and nodded at Bones' question. "Chicken; it has this weird spice on it... Kind of like ginger, but not exactly. It's hard to place." She cracked a grin. "Honestly I'm just trying to figure out what it is; being an herbalist, not knowing something like that bothers me. What are you going to get?"

"Me neither, though it's more that I can't eat much, so when I do I like to be picky." Emerson internally rolled her eyes- her information drop wasn't important, probably -especially- to Bones. The waitress came back with their drinks and took their orders, and Emerson seemed to relax a bit when she left again, though the angel didn't know why. "So..." She flashed a grin. "What have you been up to?"

"Oh, you've made it clear that you think nobody is as cute and charming as you, in past." Emerson arched her blonde eyebrows, a hand swirling the ice in her water with her straw absently. She leaned back a bit, studying Bones. "What clubs do you normally go to?"

Emerson nodded, having heard of the places but only been to each once in the past while. "And you're not worried that someone will have seen you with people who end up... Missing?" Her voice dropped on the last word, not wanting to mention the death of girls.

Emerson tossed her hair self-approvingly. "Only thanks to me, now." The entire business really disgusted her, but she wouldn't say that. It wasn't enough to make her not want to talk to or be around Bones. For some uncanny reason, it was worth it to be around the demon, who should honestly be her enemy. "How's Copper?"

Emerson nodded slowly. "Yeah, Mngwa are smart like that. They also know good food when they taste it." She smirked, arching her eyebrows. She didn't address the leaving thing, subconsciously hoping he wasn't lying when he said it would be a few months. "Not to brag or anything, but my Mngwa food is especially fantastic."

Emerson didn't miss a beat before her face went from self-righteous to solemn. "Helping people- if I can." She shrugged. "Not all angels and demons have it off so well, obviously, and they can't pay to get away from situations they've been put in." She left it at that, not exactly wanting to outright say she was a smuggler of sorts.

"Well, of course not. You being a demon and all." Emerson smirked, about to try and ask something else when the waitress came by. She looked at Bones for confirmation before she smiled politely at the waitress and said, "No thanks." The woman smiled back (Emerson had that weird effect on people) and excused herself.

"We could go for a walk and steal candy from young children," Emerson suggested, knowing it would be something one would assume a demon would find amusing, though she was really just teasing. "Or, you know, a regular walk." She swiped one of her own fries through her ketchup before chewing it with a perked eyebrow.

Emerson chuckled, sipping her water and then eyeing Bones. "Well? What do you want to do?" she asked finally, picking up some chicken to munch on. That stupid flavor was killing her- it bugged her so much to not have knowledge of or be 'in the loop' of something.

"That's a cliche, but... Alright," Emerson said with a pause to make sure she hadn't rhymed with 'okay'. "I actually do; but it's a bit embarrassing to admit it." She took another sip of her water, leaning forward to gear up for her question. "And you, Bones? What do you like?" She still wasn't sure why she hadn't started calling him Crispin, but it was probably because she had forgotten to ask if it would be okay.

Emerson ignored the innuendo Bones had dropped first, chewing on her chicken. When he told her about drawing, her eyes flickered up, not believing him. "You do? That's pretty cool, actually. The drawing part. What do you actually like to draw?" she asked before picking up fries to eat.

Emerson shook her head solemnly and replied, "No, you can draw yourself a picture of me, so you can remember me forever an ever after you move," she said with a slightly childish, bossy voice before breaking into a grin and sipping her water. "Specifically making this face," she paused, posing a 'I'm so done' face, "So you can remember that I disapprove of your shenanigans."

Emerson laughed, but when asked about flowers, she shrugged. "Eh. How about you stick to the waterfall," she suggested. "Flowers are... Girly. A bit too girly. Do I seem like a flowers sort of girl?" she asked with a twinge in her brow as she picked at the last of her food.
