Madison ✨ | 90 comments Hey Lekshmy,
Here are my picks for you...hopefully you find something you like!

Happy reading!
- Kristin

Apple = Temptation: Pick a book with temptation of some sort in the plot, a book that has a tempting cover that invites you (or your pickee) to pick it up, a book that is mostly color green (like little green apples) on the cover, or a book with an apple(any color) or a leafy tree on the cover.

First Frost by Sarah Addison AllenNEW
I saw you read Garden Spells and gave it a 3 so I thought you would enjoy the next book in the series. This book also has an apple on the cover and is one of my favorites – I just love Sarah Addison Allen’s magical realism and hope you do too ☺

First Frost (Waverley Family, #2) by Sarah Addison Allen

Crocus = Youthful Gladness: Pick a book with young people or children in it, a YA book, a book with happiness in it or a happy couple on the cover, or a book with a mostly purple cover.

The Deal by Elle KennedyNEW
I recently read this young adult book and enjoyed it so much. While it wasn’t ‘happy’ per se (the characters have some pretty traumatic backstories), the humorous banter between the characters was so much fun to me and I really enjoyed reading their natural progression from friendship into love.

The Deal (Off-Campus, #1) by Elle Kennedy

Forsythia = Anticipation: Pick a book with some ‘heat’ to it, a book with a ‘hot’ cover, a book with food in the plot or on the cover (Anybody remember the Heinz ketchup A-N-T-I-C-I-P-A-T-I-O-N commercial?), or a book with a lot of yellow on the cover.

Can't Stand the Heat by Louisa EdwardsTBR
I think I should get double points for this because it has the word ‘heat’ in the title and it’s a book about food ☺ I saw this on your TBR list and thought I should pick it because its one of my favorite foodie-romance books and just such a fun story.

Can't Stand the Heat (Recipe for Love #1) by Louisa Edwards

Delphinium = Levity: Pick a book with humor in it, a book that is a short, light, quick read, a book that is a recent addition to your pickee’s TBR list, or a book with a mostly blue color.

Just One of the Guys by Kristan HigginsTBR
Higgins is one of my favorite authors and I just love her fun and witty books. Just One of the Guys is actually one of my favorites from her and I was really happy to see it on your TBR list. I’d recommend picking this one up if you get a chance!

Just One of the Guys by Kristan Higgins

Lily = Majesty: Pick a book with royalty or rich people in it, a book that is a fairy tale or a fantasy, a book that has any of the names Charlotte, Elizabeth, or Diana on the cover or as a character, or a book with a lot of white on the cover.

Remember When by Judith McNaughtNEW
I see you’ve read McNaught before and enjoyed her books…she is one of my favorite authors and this story is a winner to me. This book is similar in ways to her Paradise which I see you gave 5 stars to so hopefully you enjoy this one as well ☺ The story centers around ‘rich people’ and the heroine’s name is Diana.

Remember When (Foster Saga #2) by Judith McNaught

Ginger = Strength: Pick a book with a strong female character, a book that has been on your pickee’s TBR list for a long time, a book that is long, or a book that has a lot of red or brown on the cover.

Cry No More by Linda HowardNEW
Milla, the heroine of this story, is a strong female character whose baby was stolen from her when she was shopping in a marketplace. She dedicates the rest of her life to not only finding her lost baby but to help find missing children everywhere. I loved this story and really felt that Milla’s inner strength and determination was the best part of it.

Cry No More by Linda Howard

Feverfew = Warmth: Pick a book that takes place in the summertime or at the beach, a book that has a summery cover, a book that you (the picker) have really liked, or a book with a mostly orange cover.

Baby Love by Catherine AndersonTBR
This one has an orange cover and is also on my TBR list as Anderson is one of my favorite authors. If you pick this one let me know if its good and I’ll move it higher up on my (growing) TBR pile ☺

Baby Love by Catherine Anderson

Michaelmas Daisy = Farewell: Pick a book that is set in a country other than the one your pickee lives in, a book that has travel or involves a trip, a book that has any means of transportation (including feet!) on the cover, or a book that has pink (like a flower) or black (like a train engine) on the cover.

Darkfever by Karen Marie MoningTBR
This is one of my favorite series and involves MacKayla (the heroine) taking a trip to Ireland to figure out the mystery of her sister’s death. If you like a mystery (and some cliffhangers at the end of each book) as well as paranormal, this one is great.

Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning

message 115: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11344 comments Hi Amy!

I had fun playing in your shelves...we seem to have a decent amount in common, but you also had lots of stuff I'm not familiar with. I tried to give you a wide variety of picks since I couldn't seem to get a solid feel for what sub-genre of romance you like best. For each rule I gave you one pick that is new to you and at least one (sometimes two – I have no self-control!) from your TBR. I hope you find something here that interests you!

Apple = Temptation:
TBR: Garden Spells – Couldn't think of a cover that fit this category better!
New: The Witness – I was shocked to see no Nora Roberts anywhere on your shelves...that really should be remedied!

Crocus = Youthful Gladness:
TBR: Fatal Justice – I love this series, and I saw that you rated the first book very highly, too.
New: Flat-Out Sexy – Great start to a fun series, and the kids are a critical part of the storyline.

Forsythia = Anticipation:
TBR: Hard as It Gets – Great series, with a definite dose of heat!
New: Changing the Game (Play by Play, #2) by Jaci Burton – Need I say more?

Delphinium = Levity:
TBR: Pleasure Unbound – Another first book in a series I loved
TBR: Beyond the Highland Mist – Not my favorite book in the series, but not bad if you're like me and obsessed with reading a series in order, however...
New: Kiss of the Highlander – This is really where the connected books in the series start, and in my opinion the best book of the series. While it would normally make me twitch to read or recommend a series out of order, you really could read this one first and not miss out on anything.

Lily = Majesty:
TBR: First Grave on the Right – Quirky characters and a little different spin on PNR
TBR: Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake - ditto :D
New: Simply Irresistible – I want to live in Lucky Harbor!

Ginger = Strength:
TBR: Naked in Death – Amazing series that never gets stale, even after 40+ books, and probably my favorite audiobook series
New: Sweet Release – I've never read anything by Pamela Clare that I didn't love, and this is the one that started it all

Feverfew = Warmth:
TBR: Who in Hell Is Wanda Fuca? - Ok, this is a bit of a throwaway pick, but I saw it on your shelf and couldn't resist – I read it years ago, and the title alone is enough to grab the attention of a lifelong Washingtonian!
TBR: On Dublin Street – Amazing book, Amazing series, and the June Featured Author!
New: One Reckless Summer – So emotional and so good

Michaelmas Daisy = Farewell:
TBR: The Way You Look Tonight – Looks like you've enjoyed the rest of the series, why not continue with it?
New: Do Over – Lovely, emotional, and sexy story about a long married couple rediscovering the romance and passion in their relationship

Happy Reading – Enjoy!
