Hi Heather, thanks for joining this fun group. I already added two books off your profile page to add to my to read shelves!
Chris
Thanks for the invite. I love to read anything - even romance occasionally (but not often) - but I love the stories that get your blood pumping and the pages turning quickly.
As for other hobbies, I'm a writer and I do jigsaw puzzles. I quilt and do "pencil & paper" puzzles - www.conceptispuzzles.com.
I have been married now for 20 years - to a Sean also who loves to read - and have 2 children. I live in SW Florida and I have a pug.

Hi Kim,
Welcome, what a nice name your husband has...
Always like to invite thrillers lovers as I know they will enjoy it here.

Hi, I've just joined the group, and thrillers are my favourite genre. Minette Walters, Nicci French, Jeffrey Deaver and Val McDermid are amongst my favourite authors. I also enjoy a good saga especially anything by Sara Fraser. I like to try different genres from time to time although I never go for horror or ghost stories and I don't find most chick lit exciting enough. Apart from being an avid reader I work as a copywriter and proofreader, and I'm an independent author. I've published two non-fiction parenting books to date and plan to publish my debut novel in September, which is a crime thriller.

Hey Kim, welcome to this great group! Thanks for that puzzle link. Being a new retiree, I should do some of those to keep my brain sharp so I can think long enough to read all the books on my virtual shelves--LOL!!
If you have not read Karin Slaughter, check out our group read Blindsighted, definitely a page turner!

Chris
Thanks Chris, that's very kind of you. I'm hoping to launch in September as I'll be going away for three weeks in the summer. The first chapter on my website is a first draft, which has since been improved. I'll replace it once I've received all my beta feedback and done the final proofread. :)

Thanks for all the welcomes. Yes, I love thrillers. I've just discovered Sophie Hannah. The first one of hers that I read started off great but tailed off a bit as I progressed through the book. However, I'm reading Little Face at the moment and enjoying it as it's really keeping me guessing. :)
Hi, my name is Jo Ann. I was born in Ithaca NY, moved to Pinellas County Florida when I was 2 and lived there for 52 years before I relocated to Connecticut four years ago.My sister and I used to share a bedroom when we were children. She is nine years older than I am so in self defense she would read to me at night to get me to go to sleep!
I loved words, the sound of them, and the way the stories flowed so much I could not wait to learn to read for myself. Books have been my best friend ever since.
My reading tastes vary depending on my mood and I have many favorite authors.
Thank you for accepting me into your group!
Hi Wynn,
No problem, happy to invite you, I know thrillers lovers will enjoy it here.
JoAnne, welcome, although I know you be here a while.
Welcome all new members, invite your friends.

Hi everyone. Thanks for the reply DianeAlice. I'm glad you like Sophie Hannah too. I've got a couple more of hers to read after Little Face as my hubby bought me a few as a pressie so I'll look forward to reading them. One thing I've noticed with the first two I've read is that she tells the plot in two different timelines. Is that something she does in all her books?
DianeAlice, thanks. The Carrier was the first book I read, which got me interested in Sophie Hannah as an author. I've noticed through a couple of the groups I've just joined that Karin Slaughter is very popular. I haven't read any of her books previously so I've just downloaded one to give it a try. :)
I know what you mean - so many good books and so little time. I absolutely love Nicci French although I haven't read the latest couple of books by them. I've read most of Val McDermid's books too.
Hi, I'm Tweetybird and I am from Australia. I learnt English as a second language when I was three making preschool/nursery really hard. I now speak English and Cantonese fluently and am currently in the process of learning French and German. Some of my favourite authors include Jodi Picoult, Anthony Horowitz, Malcolm Rose, Sophie McKenzie and Garth Nix.
Nice being part of a group :D

Hi I'm Rachel from Jersey. I read a variety of genres but have always loved mystery/thrillers. always looking for new authors to try and book recommendations to add to my tbr mountain :)Earlier this year i read Blindsighted
, Bone Cold
and Blood Vines
- it was my first time reading these authors but not my last-really enjoyed their writing and look forward to reading more of their books.I have a question about the q & a- do the questions have to be about their latest books or can we just ask any questions about their earlier books/writing process, etc.?

Hi Rachel, welcome to our great group! You will have fun here. I also read Blindsighted this year and my first Erica Spindler book called Justice for Sara. Both were very good. You can ask the authors about anything, Rachel. Check out, for example, the Linwood Barclay, the Karin Slaughter, the S.J.Bolton and/or the Oak Anderson Q&As, all done earlier this year to see the big array of questions these guys got from us. Hope you join in the Erica Spindler Q&A this coming Tuesday. I am anxious to read more of her stuff--did you like Bone Cold or Blood Vines the best?
Chris
Thanks Chris! I would love to join in the q & a- as far as which of her books i enjoyed more- probably Blood Vines but I would recommend them both. Justice for Sara sounds like a great book- thanks for the recommendation :)
Hi Sean, Thank you for the friend request! I am living in Goodyear, Az but originally from the much greener and cooler upstate NY area. I live with my husband of 22 years, 2 sons, a labradoodle and 2 kitties, as well as a housemate and a german shepherd. I love reading books of almost any kind but thrillers, murder mysteries, paranormal and ghost stories are probably my favorites! I'm looking forward to reading Blindsighted so I guess it is time for a library trip this week :)I am just finishing up a Preston and Child so will be free to start it! I also love to cook, quilt and spend time in the water. I'm very excited to meet new friends from all over the world!
