Tell me about it, Ter'e!My mom, who grew up in very old houses thought we were crazy when we bought ours and she was right! We do live in harmony with them, though. And it always makes a great story. Where in FL are you? I have family there.

Hi Michael,
welcome to the group,
please do go to the authors area and give more information on your book. Lots of authors here.
Enjoy

By qualification, I'm an engineer who has a day job in a consultancy firm in Pakistan. But reading books has always been one of my favorite hobbies and passions. My favorite genre is that of mystery/ thriller, but one that I totally avoid is horror. On my shelves you will find a huge collection of books by David Baldacci, John Grisham and Jeffrey Archer. In fact I have read more than 90% of the books ever written by these 3 authors. Needless to say, my most prized collection are my two volumes of The Complete Sherlock Holmes and the semi-complete collection of Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot mysteries.
In case anyone's curious, I'm also pretty passionate about cricket, especially when my team takes the field!
Thanks Huma and welcome, I know you have been posting and keeping yourself busy here, and that's great !
It's great when members post and keep all the threads interesting and lively.

I'm Jenni and I live in Far North Queensland Australia with my partner. I have two children and three step children. I love nothing more than hitching up the camper trailer and travelling, drawing on my experiences whether it be the outback or the dangerous waters of the Top End, I use these places and my imagination to write my stories. I love to sew and garden, anything that allows me to be creative. If you would like some insight about my books you can visit my web page www.jenniboydbooks.com

When I am not reading, I love cooking, gardening, and chatting with friends.
I love making new friends, especially those who read books, so if anyone wants to add me as a friend here on Goodreads, please do :)
A big hello welcome to anyone who posted before me and after me. Over 50 pages, so forgive me for not listed you all :)
Welcome to all new members, and thanks for all joining , especially to my friends.
Welcome Beau, Abby, Jenni, Nadia and Brendy.

Victoria, thank you for your recommendations. My reading list thanks you (but my bank balance probably isn't as happy with you).

Warm welcome to all newcomers!!

My name is Kelly everyone. I'm a working mother of 2 and live in Atlanta. I love to read crime thrillers (especially lawyer books), historical fiction, dystopia/some young fiction, and biographies and memoirs. So glad to be a part of this group! I love reading the comments and am trying really hard to participate in the group reads. I'm typically reading 3-4 books at any given time.

Hi Kelly! Great to meet you and welcome to the group.:)
I only read one book at a time. I'm not that great a multi-tasker.

Hello!
I'm Steph, currently of Sussex, UK, and soon to be a full-time caravan dweller living wherever the roads take us.
I'm pretty new to Goodreads and joined this group because I've just finished a great thriller and wanted to shout about it. Love it when I get enthusiastic about a book :)
Anyway, it's Precious Thing by Colette McBeth and I read it in less than 24 hours because I just couldn't leave it put down for long! Precious Thing is partly set in Brighton where I used to live, and is the story of what happens when two women who have been best friends since childhood start to discover things about each other that perhaps would have been better left secret.

Steph,
We are RV (American for caravan) enthusiasts. We have traveled throughout much of the US, and hope to take the RV into Canada in the not to distant future.
We have talked about full-timing once we retire, but think we will probably still need the house and my husband's workshop.
Welcome to the group.
All the best,
Cynthia (The Garrett half of Garrett Smith)

I have sworn off multi-tasking. It is a good way to do everything poorly.

Hi Cynthia,
Pleased to meet you :)
We're really taking the plunge, selling up the house and I'm eBaying anything that's not bolted to the walls! We spent the winter in our caravan in Spain/Portugal for the first time this year and absolutely loved the lifestyle.
Dave has talked about voyaging around America. We've visited Austin, Texas a couple of times and to New Orleans as well. We love our Americana music!

If you could get used to driving on the right (by that I mean the opposite of left) side of the road, you could rent an RV and see the US!
Your lifestyle makes me jealous. :)

Steph, I have seen some reviews of this book and thought it looked really good--I have it on my to read list. Any other recent favorites?

Hello everyone! *waving*
Christine: My last 5 Star read was A Patchwork Planet by Anne Tyler, but it's not a thriller, more observations on dysfunctional family life.
Two good 4 Star thrillers recently though were The Secret Speech by Tom Rob Smith which is set in Russia and is the 2nd of a trilogy. (My review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...)
Also Manukau Bluebirds by Tin Larrick. This one is a nicely peopled police drama set in New Zealand. (My review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...)
What would you recommend?
