Yes, but I think he cleans up pretty nice. Maybe he can pull it off.

Tati I absolutely refuse to go watch Fifty Shades... I really don't like how Christian treats Ana in the series.

Well, it's darker than Fifty Shades. In Captive in the Dark, has conflict but it's a typical slave sort of story.

Agree, Captive in the Dark (The Dark Duet, #1) by C.J. Roberts was darker than Fifty Shades. It kinda bothered me at first because it's more harsh.

message 2906: by Tati (new)

Tati What bothered me wasn't even the BDSM stuff, but how possessive and smothering Christian is outside the bedroom.

message 2907: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) Plus Christian's immaturity on the last book.

The whole slavery thing is too much for me. I just can't handle reading anything about people being forced into that kind of stuff.

The BDSM stuff didn't really bother me either, but there were some scenes where I just couldn't even get my mind around what was going on (view spoiler). I wasn't really all that bothered by his possessiveness. I figured there was a reason behind it and I was satisfied with how everything ended. I don't think I rated the first book very high, but I rated the last two higher.

I don't run either. It's a great way to wear out your knees early and I'm not in the mood for any replacement parts yet! Hope it goes okay for you ☺

Thanks! I only had to run 3 yesterday but now they're making us run 2 more today so we'll be ready for our meet next week!

It's just long distance running. Our school used to have a mandatory cross-country run once a year which was a few circuits of the school field. I wasn't impressed.

Emma (foreverlookingforward) | 108 comments I managed that much -just- I got lost when I was out running - I had this sudden burst of energy- so I ended up at my friends house that is in the other village along! Then one time at school we did the cancer research race for life I got told on the LAST lap I needed to do another because I hadn't done enough then I did another after that so I practically ran the race twice. Both of those times it was roasting

I don't think running is my thing it all ways finds way to make it longer :(

Hahaha, me too.
Everytime i read a zombie book, i keep think how readers would survive better.
We'd just head to WHSmiths, put loads of heavy stuff by the doors, so they couldn't get in.. Read all day upstairs, and get snacks from downstairs! Haha.

That's a pretty good plan! We'll have to buddy up though, as in this post-apocalyptic story there is no internet, which very sadly means no goodreads :(

You never know, it might be like After The Ending (The Ending, #1) by Lindsey Fairleigh
Wouldn't take us long to go through all the books though, we'd have to break into an Amazon warehouse.
They have everything there, we'd be sorted. :)

I think it probably depends a lot on the teacher. I hated Literature in 10th grade, but I had a teacher I didn't like. I loved English in 11th grade because I had an awesome teacher (she actually gave us the option of books to read and one of them was Harry Potter! She's the reason I found him and got back into reading. I think I'll be forever grateful to her for that!). I had the same awesome teacher for AP English in 12th grade and I enjoyed it too.

message 2949: by Tati (new)

Tati (question: what does AP mean? I always see it in books, and never know what it means...)

I hated Literature, my teacher was a bit of a loony...

I think it means 'advanced placement' and it is basically a more difficult course for kids that are doing really well.
