I finished my 1st book......@leslie:oh,it's not hard at all, because I live in Iran and there are some strong translators such as "Mehdi Sahabi" who has translated well that book(Le Pere Goriot).....I enjoyed the book so.....
Vi wrote: "Leslie & Melissa - good luck with aDwD. I really need to continue with the series. I've read the first but haven't progressed beyond that, unfortunately."Thanks Vi~ it is a good series just takes so dang long to read, lol

I've read the first but haven't progressed beyond that, unfortunately."I am so close to finishing the second and want to finish the series, but they are so darn dense lol! They end up being the books I'm always reading and putting down so I can finish them. So good though
@ Michelle ~ that is it exactly. I'm glad I was able to find someone to buddy with me when starting the series otherwise I know myself....I would never finish, lol

Good Evening, Dangerously Determined to Devour All Books!
It is time for the Weekend Update ! Yes, I stole it from Saturday Night Live. ;)
I hope every one is having a great time reading and placing those books on your shelf. I know I am!
First things first, because I know you all want to know...the rankings, as of this last hour...
1st place- The A-Team (Team A) with 90 books
2nd place- Best Book Brigade (Team B) with 88 books
3rd place- C Us Win! (Team C) with 86 books
4th place- Dangerously Determined to Devour All Books with 73 books
No worries though team. We still have plenty of time to catch up. Remember, not every one is as addicted to Goodreads as some of us are and might not have updated their books read yet. ;) New participants are also being added every day so who knows what could happen!
Some books being read in the past week that you might want to try. Disclaimer: These books were picked randomly straight from this team's thread. If I didn't include your book, please, no hard feelings. If you really want teammates to know about a book you have read for this challenge either posted in this thread or not, let me know and I will add it. This section is completely for fun and sharing purposes. Thanks!
You are all doing great. I think this puppy says it the best...
Rachel - what a great update!! Love the puppies! And those books are definitely going on my TBR! Thank you for all your hard work. I have no worries that we will be moving up in the rankings! Happy Reading Team D!!

One day when I finally have a house I'm going to become a foster dog mom. Something I've always wanted to do!
@Michelle - I totally understand! I tried to start the second book but I just kept putting it down for other books. I may have to give it another attempt.@Rachel - Great update! The margin of difference between the other teams and us is something we can easily overcome. So go team!
Just finished

Question: I just finished Ominous Love for review, but there is no paper book. I counted my kindle edition's pages and I think it was 169 or 170...please?!

@Marla and Lisa Kay - According to Smashwords, the word count for Ominous Love by Patricia Puddle is 44350 words.
Marla no I haven't read Thirtennth Tale, is it good? So far I am loving Forgotten Garden.
Just finished two books today. Both were 3.5 star reads and one was a new author for me.
by Kat Martin was a new author for me and it was a contemporary romance set in Wyoming. I enjoyed it. And the other one I finished was
by Kay Hooper. This is part of a series about psychics who work at a special group within the FBI and are trying to catch a serial killer. Not alot of romance but good thriller. I've read others in this series and enjoyed them as well. Now I'm starting
by Christine Feehan. Melissa and I have a thread going for this series. We read 1 a month. I love them!!! So sexy.
Hey just to let you all know, classes started back today so I will not be very productive here :( I will add the books I am reading fir school so that will help some. But the only time I have to read is after I finish my homework until 12. When my breaks come I will read more. Sorry!
Absolutely no problem, Michelle. I'm about to be in the same situation. I start back to work tomorrow teaching wonderful little exhausting middle schoolers and I also take classes which start next week. Hardly a chance to breathe sometimes! Good luck in your classes!
Michelle I know what you mean and understand. I am in theds middle of unpacking and getting my Interior Design degree. We just do what we can do, no more, no less.lol
I didn't finish any books today, but I did make some progress in a few of them. I should finish 2 tomorrow.
I finished my first book of the year yesterday! Now I'm on to the next. I hope everyone has a great week reading!
Team A has read 113
Team B and C has read 114
We have read 100
We are catching up with the other three. In a blink of an eye we can pass them!!!!
We can do it, we can do it, oh yes we can!!!!

Oh, I love Julia Quinn!! And that's a good one, Tricia.Happy reading team D!!
And Michelle and any others heading back to school -have a great semester. I only have 1 in college at the moment and she is heading back today. Her school is 3 hours away. We are making jambalaya this morning to pack up so she can bring it back with her.
Leslie thank you!!! Happy reading everyone!!!
Your daughter is going to be thinking about home when she eats the jambalaya!!!

thanks, Leslie! When I got my bachelors, I went to college three hours away too. Homesick for three years!!

Marguerite wrote: "Marla no I haven't read Thirtennth Tale, is it good? So far I am loving Forgotten Garden."We read the Thirteenth Tale first and liked it and the next year read The Forgotten Garden and they were sort of similar and yet not, but would appeal to the same reader, I think.

Yes, I agree! I always know what to expect from these books. I've also read some other books by her - older romance novels and like them as well. It's not great stuff, but dependable.

Just finished
. That didn't take long! Loved it!@Leslie: I love Julia Quinn's books, too! The Bridgerton's are my favorites!! I was so happy to see Just Like Heaven is set during the same timeline. I really look forward to reading the rest of this new series.
Now, I think I'm going to read something a little different. The title really grabbed me with this one.
Yah, I just finished my second book!!! It's late and I have to work, so I will look for something to read tomorrow, although I'm just not sure what I want to read next!!
Finished off Codex Alrea series by Jim Butcher. Maybe it's because I read it back to back but I was a little bit disappointed in the series. It was just a little too nice for my taste. Tavi was too near-perfect. Guess I expected a little more from Butcher.I've started
for a buddy read. It's going ok so far.
I'm reading
. Really good. One of the best in this series. Not sure why I haven't read it before. I have an ARC to read after.
Finally! I made the board for the Team with one book! I stayed up late last night trying to finsih off my first book and first graphic novel of the year (I am paying for it now though, so sleepy!). I'm feeling very D-licious so to keep with the D theme I chose this as my second one:
Michelle wrote: "I'm reading

I am set to read this one this month and can't wait. I may push it up sooner! You have me excited to read it.
Great job, Atefe!! I finished
yesterday. Love this series by Christine Feehan and this got 5 stars from me. I read it awhile ago but I didn't remember much of it.I am now reading
and
. The first one is another re-read and is part of a buddy read challenge. I love Jayne Anne Krentz and all her alter-egos. The second one is a new series I've started and it's only okay so far. But not bad.
Hey! I'm new in the team, hope I'm gonna be a good adition here!
For now, I'm up to 2 books of my 60.
Assassin's Creed: Renaissance and Lord of the Flies

I finish my first book of the year Candide ou l'optimisme by Voltaire. The story was too repetitive for my taste and like the title indicate, Candide was too much of an optimistic. But well... I had to read it for my french class. Sorry if I don't read a lot right now, I'm in my exam week in college. As soon as my session end, I will do my best to catch-up. And now, I will start Gone Girl.

Totally off-topic: I went and saw Anna Karenina yesterday. Amazing!!!
@Vi - thanks for the good luck. I'm having a hard time getting myself to start it. I've read a few pages only. Luckily I bought it instead of checking it out and I have more time. Other books keep distracting me. Luckily Melissa and I are very laid back in our buddy reading LOL!! We have done several together.
