Oh...outside? I thought we were going to use the fireplace here in the house. Okay, let's go.

*I nod excitedly* We haven't had an outside fire in a long time so I thought tonight would be a great night to do it.
Okay....might want to wear a sweater till we get the fire going good. Cool night.
*I slip into the house after I hand you the hot dogs, buns, and sticks. I come back out wearing a sweater and rush over to the fire pit, eager for a nice night outside under the stars with you*
The logs are just beginning to catch. The sun is down and the sister planet's rings are just above the horizon. In the eastern sky the nebula makes a multicolored display.
*I unpack the hot dogs and buns onto plates that we had brought for our house. I lay our sticks down and look at the small fire, reaching my hand to it.*
* Mike continues to stoke up the fire and rolls a large log to one side of it. He then goes into the ship and brings out some beer and assorted sodas.*Looks like we should be able to cook anytime.
* a meteor shower fills the sky off to the south *
*I glance up towards the sky and watch the shower.* You don't think any if those are like the one we found? Maybe an alien calling card for its own kind, just trying to find a place to call home?
I'd say it's a long shot. Besides I haven't seen any that made it through the atmosphere. They're just...shooting stars.
Okay good. Too bad we can't get me one of those. I've always wanted a shooting star. *I smile at you then stab a hot dog and put it over the fire while handing you a hot dog for your stick*
Hope it doesn't bother you...I like roasted hot dogs well done.
Oh you like them burnt huh? * I giggle playfully as I rotate my stick around to cook it more.* What about your buns? Toasted or not toasted?
Toasted...don't like them burned though. But lots of mustard.
*I hand you the toasted bun, mustard, and hot dog* You can crazy with the mustard. *I make my hot dog then put on mustard, mayo, and ketchup on my bun before I dig in, squirting a little on my plate that I balanced in my lap* mmmmm
* Mike looks at Lacy a second and then playfully says:*Ketchup on a hot dog....poor deluded thing. We have any pickle relish?
* Mike grins at Lacy*
*I gasp pretending to be mad* How rude! Get your own stinky relish then. * I point over at the can*
Can...can...relish in a can. No, no, no...you keep it in glass. * Mike sighs theatrically * I have so much to teach you about good food... Tomorrow night we have brown beans and cornbread, with onions.
*I giggle and turn the can to show you that it wasn't relish but canned peaches* Got ya!
.....please tell me you don't like peaches on your hotdog.
*I look thoughtful* I've never tried it...maybe I should try it out...where is the can opener?
* Mike Mike slaps his head with his hand...drops to the ground and stuffs his mouth with hotdog, then takes a huge drink of beer.*Hopeless, hopeless...a beautiful barbarian. Oh well, love conquers all they say.
Even ketchup....or peaches on hotdogs.
*I laugh and finish my hot dog* Don't worry, Mike, I'm not going to try it...it's not like I'm pregnant or anything. *i pull out a bag of marshmallow and chocolate bars* Dessert?
Humm, a little sweet, but I'll try one...No peaches though.
*I make you a s'more and hand it over then just eat chocolate myself* Don't like s'mores
They're great, but on the whole I'm not a "candy" sort of guy. I have other vices I guess.
What do you like? *I cock my head to the side as I nibble on my Hershey bar.*
Food wise??? I have more of a weakness for pastry. I avoid it all together usually because if it's there I eat it. A dozen glazed donuts?? I just keep eating. Three, four, five...that's almost half might as well eat one more. Now there are only six left? Might as well clean up, they'll just get stale anyway...So...I don't struggle with candy much...
*I turn and fish around next to me until I pick up a box of doughnuts* Oh well you should have said something before. Here you go. I am not a doughnut fan so these are all yours. *I hold out the box to you with small evil grin*
...enabler. I need to iced tea, very little sugar to go with those, back in a second.
*I giggle and set the box next to your chair, the box opened, allowing the night breeze to push the smells of the doughnuts after you*
* Mike arrives back with his tea and sighs as he munches on a doughnut*I have no will power...
Not for doughnuts and not when it comes to me you don't. *I wink playfully at you and lean over kissing the glaze from your lips* I think tomorrow we should go to the other side of the planet and see how the animals are doing.
Okay... I guess we should. The herds around here are doing great and the predators are keeping things balanced. The species seem to be balancing well...and we haven't taken time to travel around the planet in a while.
A good hike is exactly what we need. *I smile and finish my second chocolate bar* Sometimes I still think that this planet is too good to be true and that I'm going to wake up and everything is going to be gone.
I hope not...Let's get some sleep and we'll take a shuttle around to the other side...of course we need to figure the time we arrive at sun up, over there, LOL.
*I hop up and pour a bucket of water onto our fire, watching as the smoke danced up into the evening sky* I can't wait. We haven't been over there in a year. I wonder if the carnivores plants I found are doing okay and have gotten bigger...ut to so big that they want to eat us.
No human eating plants...check. Ready?
*I nod and pick up some of the trash to throw away before I head back to our place. I step inside and like I do every night, I just look around, taking in everything since it was ours. I then put the trash away I'm the bin that instantly burns it and turns it into usable mulch and head to our room to change*
* Mike finishes policing the area and comes in to wait...*
*I enter our bedroom in my pjs and smile at you as I walk to your side and wrap my arms around your neck, giving you a kiss*
* They aren't ready to leave for several hours.*
*Daybreak finally comes and I'm still in bed, sleeping*
* Mike eases out of bed. He bathes and dresses in jeans and boots. Then he he goes in and starts breakfast knowing that Lacy can sleep in quiet a while before they need to leave. He decides he'll let her sleep till everything's ready. *
*I snuggle under the covers as I continue to sleep, a smile playing on lips from the evening before*
* The smell of pancakes, eggs, sausage (beef this morning) and coffee fills the house. *
*I slowly roll over as the smells entice me awake. I get up and take a quick shower before I enter the kitchen dressed in short shorts and a tank top* Smells great in here!
* he kisses her and hands her a plate. Help yourself, all about ready. Last few pancakes about done. *
*I take the plate and grab a seat* Yummm this looks delicious.
Here's that blueberry syrup we made last fall, still got a couple of bottles and there's one of the maple left. We've also got honey and then there's the sugar syrup of course.
What other kind of syrups should we try to make this year? I was thinking something with the apples and grapes. Maybe mix the two. *I lick my finger after pouring the syrup onto my pancakes.* Still delicious as the day we made it.
