message 175: by Danni (last edited Dec 04, 2014 05:59AM) (new)

Danni (luciepurr) | 206 comments I almost always -unless I've read it within a few months- reread the first book before reading the sequel. When reading about 400 books a year it is good to refresh the memory, but I have a few I reread quite often, such as, The Boy Who Sneaks in My Bedroom Window, Beautiful Disaster, Illegal My Ass, Daughters Of Fortune, Vampire Academy series, Thirst No. 1: The Last Vampire, Black Blood, and Red Dice series, The Last Song. The Princess Diaries series is an old favourite too.
I haven't read these in a while either but used to reread The Vampire Diaries series quite a bit too. I also went through a phase where I spent a while just reading Twilight saga a ridiculous amount, at least 100 times, I would just read them over and over and over. Though I haven't read them in a few years either. I like to reread books, because sometimes just experiencing your old favourite characters, and experiences just to relax a little bit, and not have to take in new information, swim in familiar waters.

A few I know I will read again more than once, but haven't gotten around to again
The Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy
City of Bones series
Water for Elephants
Clockwork Angel series
Throne of Glass books
The Wolf of Wall Street books
I Hunt Killers trilogy
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer trilogy
Maeve Kerrigan books

Rowling Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter, #7) by J.K. Rowling (I think I've read the whole series at least 6 times, and the first four over a dozen each)
Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth (I read this one twice this year)
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens (I re-read this basically every December)
A Great and Terrible Beauty (Gemma Doyle, #1) by Libba Bray Rebel Angels (Gemma Doyle, #2) by Libba Bray The Sweet Far Thing (Gemma Doyle, #3) by Libba Bray
There are tons more from my childhood that I read over and over, like Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (Scary Stories #1) by Alvin Schwartz , but those would take forever to list.

Loser by Jerry Spinelli

message 190: by Cosmic (last edited Jan 23, 2015 10:26AM) (new)

Cosmic Arcata I have read The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger more than five times and counting.

Hated it the first time. Got to the end of it the second time (because I figured I must be stupid, this was supposed to be a classic). Then figured out it was an allegory about WW2. References are in the movies, cars and names. Then it is a totally different experience through Manhattan....and Central Park South....and it will make sense why Holden says that Radio City Music Hall "killed him."

Lindsey Kookaby | 10 comments Actually, I read the book "Bloomability" 3 times now, and I love reading it just before summer starts, because when I finish that book I always get an excited feeling about what I'm going to do over the summer, who I will meet, and then in the fall what will happen when I start another school year.

Compass by Sylvain St. Marie

One old, one new. One classic, and the other one I'd never heard of before I picked it up. But I liked their ideas enough to read twice.

message 196: by Beth (new)

Beth Rodgers | 2 comments I've read 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' twice, and I've read 'The Godfather' three times (I know it's not a young adult book, but it was worth the read every time!). I'm sure there are others I've read more than once, but those are the ones that stick out in my mind the most.

I'm about to get back to rereading Prisoner of Azkaban after I finish reading The Spindlers. HP is kind of always my back up. When I have nothing else to read, fall back on ol' reliable.
